A great new restaurant on NE Broadway serving elevated Italian-inspired cuisine for the everyday person. Scholar is the place to come for pizza, pasta, or to enjoy some amaro! They're focusing on bringing upscale food and drinks to the neighborhood, using fresh ingredients and a constantly rotating menu to use what's available seasonally. Drink creation led by experienced bartender Randy Jeffers, they're using a heavy hand with the Italian aperitif/digestif amaro, a bitter liqueur with a wide range of expressions. Come in for a full dining experience, or to just enjoy a cocktail!

The restaurant is permanently closed. We were out on a dark, rainy night to discover a place I had booked and had received a confirmation request from had been closed for more than a year. I have always trusted Open Table, but not anymore.

We had booked a table for our anniversary this past Friday but when we showed up they were closed. There was a sign in the window saying to go to another restaurant in SE but when we drive there they had no tables. No one ever called us even though we left a VM. Really bummed about this

We were so looking forward to a good dinner at a sweet place and when we got there it was closed and no note on the door. We drove over an hour to get there. Hopefully there was not a serious emergency. We are not mad just disappointed but understand unforeseen life circumstances. Paula

Came back for the third time, but it’d been 3-4 months. Unfortunately, my favorite menu items were gone (the pumpkin pesto) and we waited over an hour to get our food (after our original drink/food order was lost). Service was great, constantly attempting to make up for the mistake. Probably won’t be back.

Not sure how we did not stumble across this neighborhood gem sooner. The restaurant seating is built around a grand bar that is well stocked and capable bartenders who deliver unique cocktails and mocktails. The house specialty is Amaro based libations that will satisfy the full spectrum of palettes. The menu offering is centered around unique pizza creations that can include duck, pate and the more traditional toppings. Not a pizza fan, there are several well constructed and executed Italian dishes. We went with the Focaccia with Pate, Pear Burrata Salad, Buttered Chicken and Broccolini Rabe. Portions were perfectly sized and priced.
