They're focusing on bringing upscale food and drinks to the neighborhood, using fresh ingredients and a constantly rotating menu to use what's available seasonally. A lovely neighborhood place. They've (wisely) focused on a small menu, but have slightly added to it over time. I haven't tried the pizza, but the Caprese Salad was truly excellent, and the Gnocchi were excellent. I think my companions also enjoyed the Bolognese and the Bucatinni. Service was excellent.

Cool place in our neighborhood and we hope it survives. Provided a number of “good” and “fair” ratings but we will try again for sure. Definitely not family friendly on the budget. 1 cocktail, 1 Old German can of beer, 1 soda, 1 “mock tail” 2 salads, 2 pizzas and 1 main was over 150.00 after tip.

Beautiful cocktails, Amaro flights, and delicious Italian fare! Staff was great and Amaro flight included background and history of liquors from the passionate and well educated bartender/cocktail artist. Would definitely recommend!

I cannot recommend this place. The food needs work and so does the staff training. Our food arrived all at once and lukewarm as if it had been sitting on a counter somewhere. We barely had anyone check on us. I couldn't wait to leave.

Cheerfully greeted. Friendly service. Pasta with scallops was good but very meager serving for $29. Two scallops...REALLY? Pasta was good but again small serving for the price. You would think they could throw in some bread, a few slices, for $29. Likewise salad was small to share for $14. I don't think I will go again. Just too expensive for the amount of food.

Neighborhood gem moniker was built for Scholar. The place has positive energy. Well made coctails and thoughtful Italian wine choices punctuate the well constructed Italian spot. Food was simple and tasty. The buffalo chicken livers were particularly unusual and good. We'll be back

We had 6:15 reservations and there were many tables but by the time we left at 7:30 it was buzzing! The staff was friendly and accommodating. Loved the chicken livers. We will be back.

Dined here before a concert at the Moda Center. Delicious fresh pasta, tasty pizzas, and the fried gnocchi with sage aioli was amazing - we had to order a 2nd serving! Wine and cocktails were also on point, servers and bartender were friendly, attentive and welcoming.

Ambiance, service and drinks were all excellent. Food was... just good. We went for the Valentine’s Day Prix Fixe menu. They sat the whole restaurant at set reservation times, so every meal came out at the same time. When you charge higher end prices for dinner I expect at least one course to have that "Wow" factor, something special you can't get anywhere else. Everything was just ok, almost as it had been sitting for awhile before it was brought out. Maybe it was just the prix fixe, but we tried every dish available and weren't amazed. There is definitely better value in Portland.

I brought my daughter who is 9 for a pizza after her theater performance. The staff were super kind and she said it was her favorite pizza she’s had. I enjoyed the gnocchi and Buffalo chicken livers!

A comfortable atmosphere with exposed brink and soft lighting. My friend raved about the white pizza and I enjoyed my pasta. Portions are quite generous. Friendly, efficient service. We will recommend and go again.

The food was great, a bit too overpriced but still delicious. The glass candy drink was really delicious!! Service was professional and always around. I absolutely love the old world styling with a touch of modern- really sharp looking. Was really impressed by the wireless rechargeable usbC lamps.

The food was fabulous with a great selection. There were 3 of us and we split two pizzas and the Caesar salad. We also had the fried gnocchi which was delicious. Our waitress was very personable and made great recommendations. The ambience was good. We will come here again when back in the Portland area. Highly recommended!

This is a neighborhood place for us, and we've been twice recently. The first was a somewhat mixed experience -- the server was completely slammed, as they'd had some staff cancels, and it took a very long time for us to get either drinks or food. Nonetheless, the server was friendly and apologetic, and the food was good. The service issues were resolved on a second visit (which was on a Friday), and both the front of house person and our server were great. The menu is somewhat limited, with great pizza choices, plenty of vegetarian options, but only a couple of protein-forward choices. On a low carb diet, the menu can be a bit sparse. That said, I highly recommend this new iteration of that space (before it was Iconic and several other things). I hope they succeed as a neighborhood venue and expand the menu as custom allows.

Drinks extraordinary - made with passion and very tasty. Owner very attentive despite managing new employee and we enjoyed his attention and information. Noise level tough for us. Second seasoned server was great. Food bland and they were out of our first choice. Maybe still working out kinks. We wish them luck./
