A 10+ rating. Schnitzel was excellent. Service 10+
Great spot in lower Manhattan. Good vibes and great food
Everything was wonderful
Food was delicious and unique. Service was a bit slow for prefix menu. Squash appetizer was so good I requested seconds. That did not arrive till I was served my turkey entrée.Stream beans were also delicious I requested seconds however I was told they had run out. A lot of downtime between courses. Positive note, Wait staff Was extremely courteous and accommodating.I will be back
Superb food served in a friendly, informal ambiance by a professional ,accommodating staff. Unhesitatingly recommend.
Very intimate, relaxing, yet well appointed atmosphere. Great cocktails! Delicious food. Portions good and price fair. Service was excellent. Will come back!
The food was great however, I found the beer selection to be underwhelming for an Austrian restaurant.
Great lunch we had. I'll be coming back with my wife next time.
First time having elevated Austrian cuisine and it was excellent. The honeynut squash appetizer is *chef's kiss*
Went to Shilling for lunch. Food was fresh and well prepared and best of all tasty! The hostess/service was terrific and very accommodating.
Staff was phenomenal. Pleasant and quick with ordering and getting our drinks. Food was good as well. A little too salty on the schnitzel but overall was tasty. Will come back again
Amazing lunch. First class and super friendly service. Lovely decor and atmosphere.
Schnitzel was perfect. However, the squash dish is a revelation. Absolutely spectacular. Cant wait to return.
Excellent food and service! 🙏
We will certainly be back!
Delicious food! Awesome staff- very friendly and attentive. Nice vibes on outdoor patio- perfect night to dine outside
Congrats to the chef who made a perfect schnitzel, a great gazpacho and a great strudel too.
Good but mosquitos is alway a problem.
Bring the spay and ask the restaurant
I had never come across an Austrian restaurant and was very excited to try it. It's located in the shadow of One World Trade Center, a little off the beaten path! The menu was limited (probably due to the effects of the pandemic on the Financial District). However, the food was very good, especially the potato salad!
I had the fried green tomatoes and the spaghetti squash, both delicious but the plate of squash was just too much for me. I wish I could've taken it back to my hotel.
This is our go-to spot in FiDi. Reliably good food in a relaxed atmosphere. My spouse did not have proof of vaccination (new city requirement) so we sat outside even though it was threatening rain. We were fine - it was all worth it. Highly recommended.
Amazing Austrian style food; ordered everything on the menu including all apps and it was outstanding.
Great service, delicious food. I’ll sit further inside next time as the mosquitoes were out and biting. Nothing on the restaurant regarding that.
Restaurant Week deal was pretty good. Great portion, delicious food. Due to covid no beers on tap which was sad but the bottle choices satisfied my craving for a good euro-brew.
The food was great! Memorably creative trout fillet. Delicious apple strudel.
It can be noisy inside, but the curb side table on this quiet block of Washington Street was perfect (in perfect weather). And the servers are attentive and friendly. Schilling is my go to spot for dinner after introducing visiting family and friends to the visual grandeur of the Oculus and the sublime beauty of the 9/11 Memorial.
Friendly service, great atmosphere and excellent food. Their corn soup and desserts are out of this world!
Great place with rustic atmosphere right in Downtown. Food was excellent
Tried this out-of-the-way Austrian restaurant during restaurant week. The 3-courses dinner was a great deal with good choices. The schnitzel (pork or chicken) had a light breading but the meat was razor-thin leading me to think how much meat is there really in this dish ?? Was disappointed that there was no spaetzle with the entree (though there is a spaetzle entree -vegetarian maybe). Service was acceptable and the bar is sufficient.
Would return but only if I was in the neighborhood
Schilling is a fave FiDi. Excellent food and a nice treat during restaurant week!
Outstanding little Austrian gem in NYC. Will definitely be returning.
Charming rustic Austrian setting. Good food. Friendly service. What's not to like?
You have the feel of the best of a neighborhood restaurant, warm and friendly, but the food goes beyond expectations every time. The icing on the cake is the beautiful open air room. It makes for a perfect meal.
Terrible service and overall experience. We went for restaurant week dinner menu and the restaurant was overwhelmed with too many people and not enough servers. We encountered numerous issues with the dining experience.
1. We asked for a table outside that was covered and were told it was for parties of 4 (we were a party of 2). We were seated at another outdoor table. The other outdoor table had condensation from a A/C unit above that would drip down on one of the diners. Additionally, while seated we saw a party of 2 get seated at the other table we were told was for a party of 4.
2. We ordered the restaurant week menu. After our first course we waited for an hour for our main course. During this time the waiter came over and asked if we were still waiting for our second course as he couldn't remember.
3. We noticed other tables were given bread, during our time we received no bread despite waiting for 1 hour for our main course.
4. The server served a pilsner beer when a hefeweizen was requested. He tried to say the pilsner is the same or like a hefeweizen, but we asked for the correct order.
We were told it is a pool for tips for the servers and bartender. This works at some fine dining restaurants, but fails miserably at this restaurant. It shows through the service that they aren't working this hard due to this. Some other recommendations for the restaurant would be to hire more servers and ensure diners aren't waiting for 1 hour for their meals. Additionally, we would recommend serving or asking if diners want condiments for schnitzel as it is common to serve them in other traditional restaurants.
The Restaurant Week menu was delicious & great value. The Chocolate Souffle dessert, listed in the menu, was replaced with Chocolate Semifreddo on our dining. Hopefully not permanent.
Amazing service and food. Such a cool place snd bringing me back to being in Austria. But the best was our waiter.
so good would come back in a heartbeat. Very underrated
Food was excellent, wait staff were friendly but service was slow.. in the past, they have been quicker.
What a wonderful place to pass a summer thunderstorm! Very happy to have discovered this treasure and plan to be frequent diners. Special shout out to the staff. Really wonderful.
Always a great experience when dining here! See you again soon🍷
Excellent service, everything we ordered was very well done. Definitely will dine here again
