Schilleci's New Orleans Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
We go there weekly. Love the place and staff is second to none. Ownership is there every day and the chef will alter any order to you. He’s come to the table to talk to my wife about what she wanted and then there it was.
Great people, small dinning area, cool New Orleans look and food.
The staff and Cajun-style food were excellent. The Duck sausage gumbo was one of the best gumbo I've ever had. It's a popular spot and was packed when we arrived but cleared out by 9 pm when we left. You definitely want reservations in advance. There's no bar seating so arrive on time or stop at one of the many local attractions if you want a before dinner beverage. Great place and I'm eating there the next time I'm in Houston-The Woodlands.
No matter the occasion— birthday, Valentines Day, or just a date night— Schilleci’s never disappoints us! We love the crawfish dip, Australian Barramundi, and bread pudding! The waiters were extremely attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We will be back soon!
Overall, felt meal was fair. All of the fish dishes are too complicated with too many toppings and sauces. Ordered the seared tuna which was ice cold . The other fish entrees at the table were swimming in sauce . Nothing really one anyone over , best part of meal was house salad
The ambiance and service were very good. The food was expensive but the preparation was lacking. My expensive fresh fish was over cooked and tough. The sauces were good as was the wine. The waiter was actually very nice and competent. Other people liked their salads and soups. I was the only one who ordered an entree.
Great restaurant for authentic New Orleans cuisine. Top notch service! We were greeted and seated with good timing between courses. The wine list list is good value. The gumbo was FINE! They know how to make a roux! We had grouper served two different ways. Both excellent. Fish was super fresh. Glad to have Schileci's in The Woodlands.
Excellent family owned restaurant! Absolutely perfect food and service. Great selection of fresh fish with many preparation options to chose from. We chose the recommended scallop, mushroom and artichoke preparation and it did not disappoint! We also had the lamb chop special which was outstanding. Highly recommend!
As always, we had a positive dining experience with very good attentive service. We think that the prices are a bit high but, the food is always consistently good. Not outstanding but... very good. This particular evening I had blackened redfish with etouffee topping. To be honest, the fish was a bit overcooked and on the salty side (it was blackened!). Overall, we like the wait staff and owners and would recommend going.
Hands down the best authentic Cajun and Creole dining outside of NOLA. The food is amazing. This is my go to for taking clients to lunch because I know we will have great food in a comfortable atmosphere where we can talk and enjoy our meal. For dinner it is hard to beat. A dish as simple as red beans and rice is made amazing here. The owner is on premises and greats you. The staff is cheerful and attentive. Took my family there to celebrate all the August Birthdays in our house and had a great time. My boys are ages 6,8,10 & 13 and they all have a favorite item there. When they found out the owner offered us free desserts, the beignets did not last long with our crew. Outstanding operation they have here. Wish it had a full service bar but the lack of one doesn't take away anything from the experience of dining at Schilleci's. Two thumbs up!
Unique and beautifully prepared Creole/Cajun favorites and specialty dishes. Extensive wine list and the service is always great. The owner helped us choose a wine and the waitstaff is very attentive and knows the Woodlands area very well. Great spot to enjoy a delicious meal before taking in a concert at the CWM Pavilion.
Blandest etouffee I have ever eaten at a restaurant. I had to ask for hot sauce and that didn't help. Ordered a whiskey sour and they didn't have the ingredients to make it except for whiskey. WTF? Ordered dessert to try to salvage the meal and the center of my key lime pie was still frozen. Waiter acted disinterested in us the entire meal and even went outside for a moment.
My favorite restaurant in the Woodlands. Always delicious. Everything on the menu is traditional New Orleans and yet every dish has a distinctive touch. They really know how to cook fish here, and it's always fresh. Don't miss the beignets and/or bread pudding.
I had a birthday dinner for my boyfriend; 9 of us attended. None of us had ever been before, but a few of us had heard great things. It's smaller than I thought it would be, but it didn't feel too small once you were inside and sitting. The wait staff was on point; knowledgeable, made us feel welcome, never had an empty glass, and was more than willing to share the menu and ideas over and over if needed. (When there are 9 people at a long table, people miss some of the explanations). It seemed all the work staff worked together, even if we weren't their table. The food was amazing. Not one person left there disappointed, and I know we will all be back. The ONLY thing I would suggest is maybe more Cabernet wines, but the ones available were great. Great job, guys!
We always enjoy Schilleci's.
This last time, the beignets were heavy and over fried compared to our previous dining experiences. As a matter of fact, this was the second time that the beignets did not have the lightness or taste experienced for the last year and a half of eating at Schilleci's. I hope you figure out the mix and have the right chef cooking them. Previously, you made the best beignets I've tasted; even better than Café du Monde.
Corey did a great job of serving, and he, too, agreed that the beignets didn't look right.
Please help. Get back the great beignets for which I bring guests to Schilleci's. Thanks.
