Serving signature pastas made in-house daily, paired with the highest quality, locally-sourced ingredients along with fresh local seafood. Scarpetta’s famous Spaghetti Tomato & Basil is nothing short of classic simplicity in both taste and preparation.
In addition to the 3-star review in the NY Times, in 2008, Scarpetta received a James Beard nomination for ‘Best New Restaurant in America.’ In 2015, the restaurant was named ‘Best New Restaurant in the Hamptons’ at sister property Gurney's Montauk by Newsday.

I was disappointed that I told the restaurant that it was a special occasion (anniversary) and nothing was done by them to celebrate this occasion.
Our server was excellent.
Food and service are always excellent. Menu is varied with crudo, apetizers, pasta, fish and meat. Octupus is always great!
Nice restaurant with good food, although not outstanding - to my taste. Nothing wrong, othet than the price, which was quite high.
I would recommend going for lunch on a sunny day, to enjoy the views and for dinner on a summer night. Maybe special ones, as cost can certainly add up.
Food was good and portion was pretty small. Service was excellent and the place is good for couples.
Food was delicious and the presentation was equally impressive. Portions are not the most generous; it was fine for me but not enough for my husband.
I found it good.
Service was fast and people very kind.
Great food and service. Beautiful view!
The food was excellent and so was the service.
The food was great and they gave us a great room for a special birthday dinner. However, the service was pretty bad - our wine glasses weren’t refilled, we didn’t get spoons with dessert, they forgot to put the candle in the dessert, etc. Especially bad was the valet service that left our party waiting in the cold for 25 minutes even though it wasn’t that busy and other people were getting their cars right away. The valet was not apologetic and didn’t seem to care.
my first time at Scarpetta - we loved it. Neil was awesome. the spaghetti was delicious! service was on point - i drink a lot of water and they kept my glass full!
We went during restaraunt week very good value. But if it wasn’t on a non restaraunt week time wouldn’t have bee. The best value food was great
This was our first visit. I started with the short ribs and risotto, which were excellent, and a perfectly seasoned and cooked fillet mignon. The presentation of the food was beautiful. However, they could have provided more potatoes to go with the entree, they were most decorative in quantity. We also got a side dish of mushrooms which were delicious, but the portion was a bit small for a $15 side dish. They were out of the chocolate cake and the budino. Which I presume due to their being sold out, may be their best desserts. We love lemon but neither of us liked their twice baked lemon cake, nor did we like the ricotta pie on a shortbread cookie with gelato . Our waitress was very sweet and brought us a coconut panna cotta, which we really liked. We will definitely try Scarpetta again and now we know which desserts we would order next time.
Good place, even at night without the vie the restaurant is managed by professionals. The waiters and everyone else are top notch.
Amazing all around. Can’t wait to go back for a 4th time!
Food was fresh and delicious. Service was exceptional.
The near empty restaurant on a Thursday at 8 PM was to our advantage as far as attentive service and noise level. Food was outstanding starting with the varieties of bread in the basket, appetizers (nicely charred octopus) and mains, particularly the black taglioni with lobster.
We were so surprised that a hotel restaurant was so good.
Wedding anniversary! Spectacular !
Service was not good. Tables are side by side so you can hear everything what people are talking about. No meatballs for spaghetti. $80 for two plates of spaghetti, soda and a dessert.
Wow. What an amazing experience. Every bite I took was so tasty!
Definitely will be back next time we are in Newport!
the waiter we had was very attentive, friendly and very informative and and a good vibe, I believe his name was Gregory my husband thinks it may be George we do know he was Arminian .
We had a great meal with exceptional service
Very busy evening. Checked in and was informed they were running a little late. Went to bar and bartender immediately came over for our drink order. After some time I went to check on our reservation and was told they were waiting for prior party to finish. Manager came over with complimentary Prosecco. We were seated about 1/2 hr. After reservation. Service and food was exceptional. Only negative would be noise level. Conversation was loud but music was even louder. Had to shout to be heard.
Service was horrendous for the price you are paying to come here. We were sat at our table a half hour past our reservation with no apology and after we ordered our meal our server never came to our table once. Had to find someone to get our check so we could finally leave. Was never checked in on or even had water refilled.
Over priced noisey with poor service and mediocre food. The wine list had good wines but ridiculously over priced
I have dined at the Scarpetta in New York City as well as the one in Beverly Hills, CA. Both of those were excellent experiences. The Newport location missed the mark. Perhaps I was jaded by the experience at the others, but it did not compare to the others. First, the reservation process included two text verifications and a phone call from the restaurant that I would make the reservation on time, which all were confirmed. Of course, I waited a half an hour before being seated. I guess this can happen, but it appeared I was not the only one. Second, the service was fine, but not great. Very minimal description of dishes and just seemed like a production shop versus a higher end dining environment. I found that I was doing more to build enthusiasm about the meal than anyone who worked there (I was the only one in my party who had dined at a Scarpetta before). This was not the case at the other locations I mention above. Bottom line, food was good, service was average, and I will likely continue to visits the NY and CA locations, but unlikely to return here.
Our evening started by being asked what table we would prefer and being seated with an amazing water view. The waitstaff were all upbeat and our waiter had a great sense of humor and made the evening interesting, also helping us to make a decision regarding entree selections. The venue is memorable and the food was delicious. Can't wait to return!
The food and service were great. Professional, timely and well done. Unfortunately, the noise was almost too much. The dining room was full and loud with conversation but the music was turned up even louder. Combined, it was uncomfortable and detracted from the experience. We like lively but this was trying too hard. However, good service and food will likely have us give it another try.
Awesome views best before dark. Service was excellent.
The food is sophisticated and well executed.
Rating says energetic noise level but it’s so loud that everyone is shouting to be heard that is best not to speak at all. Families with kids were relaxed knowing their kids were not spoiling anyone’s date, while playing video game because the adults where even louder. Wow I’m sure all the windows are a large part of the acoustic problem but no carpeting really makes the room pop.
Amazing views and delicious food! I went with two of my best friends from college and we had an amazing time!
The food and service was OUTSTANDING! AMAZING! The one extremely noticeable issue was the noise from the band in the lobby. It was unacceptably loud. Also there is no private seating. The European set up wasn’t bad it’s just not a great place for a private celebration.
No había más nadie en el restaurant, solo nuestra mesa.
Tuvimos que devolver el pescado porque estaba malo.
La pasta estuvo OK.
Noise level was uncomfortably loud. Food was good but not inspired. “Lobster” pasta dish had almost no lobster in it. Decor is starkly modern. Staff was very good.
The food is delicious, but terribly overpriced. Unfortunately the restaurant has been placed on the marina side of the property, so the view is only so-so, and you won’t see any of our famous Newport sunsets. The service was uneven, and several requests to move or turn down the propane heater yielded no results.
Outstanding all around. Terrific food and great service. Overlooking the water. It couldn’t get any better!
Unbelievable spaghetti, perfectly cooked sirloin, and wonderful service. Couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable experience.
My feedback is that the food was fantastic but the ambiance was not. The music was way too loud and distracted from the delicious food. We ate inside this time as too cold for outside. I would only return in the summer to eat outside where the music is not deafening. Would not recommend eating inside to anyone.
Sat us an hour after our reservation but once we got going the food and drinks were great
If you like Olive Garden at 5x the price, this is the perfect place. The food was average/below average but priced as if it were offered in a very upscale venue. Very loud and no ambience to speak of. The wine, a 4 oz. pour was priced at $17. The service was very spotty. Will never return.
