It was very good I will be back tomorrow
Used to be great the new location is not nearly as nice, food wasn’t good and the bathrooms are a mile away we won’t be back
Service was poor and food was mediocre. I reminded the receptionist several times about celebrating a birthday yet dessert arrived without acknowledgement. Far far better restaurants to choose from.
Great as usual.
Scarpetta is one of those restaurants that you always look forward to dining at. We first discovered Scarpetta during our honeymoon in Montauk. Scarpetta Beach was part of the Gurney Resort. The service, ambiance and food was beyond expectation. At this point, we have tried almost everything on the menu and we couldn't find a dish that we didn't like. Every dish was thought out and carefully prepared. Even the bread basket is something to write home about.
Since our honeymoon experience at Scarpetta Beach in the Montauk, we have been going to Scarpetta in the city for our anniversary. Have NEVER been disappointed. By far, one of our favorite restaurants in the country.
We loved our dinner at scarpetta!! The service was beyond amazing and the food was insane. Pasta was a MUST and I don’t eat carbs!!! It’s a cool vibe with an amazing professional bar scene. It is connected to the James hotel that also has an amazing lounge bar/club in the basement.
Great food and drinks
First time I have been to this location. Glad that the food is still so good! The restaurant is beautiful, service was good but we felt a bit rushed because they were clearing the plates a bit fast. Happy to see that they still have the Stromboli in the bread basket! Started with the beet salad and the mixed green salad. Shared 2 pastas (Spaghetti and Cavatelli). Both were outstanding! Highly recommend everything on this menu! I will be back!!
Overrated food. Service was mixed
Not only is the restaurant stunning, but the food was absolutely incredible. The spaghetti is totally worth the hype. Incredible evening, can’t wait to go back!!
Amazing all around!
My entree was room temperature. When they brought it back it was on an extremely hot plate but again it was room temperature. Disappointing. Ambiance was very pretty. Service was attentive yet fish not cooked through as chefs like to serve it at room temperature leaves a lot to be desired.
Literally my favorite restaurant in New York. Have been coming here for about eight years and the new location in nomad is actually an even better experience then 14th St.If you have a chance to visit Scarpetta in Miami or LA I highly recommend it as well. Service is impeccable and the food in comparable.
We had a reservation for 9:30 pm and were not seated till 10:40pm, party of 2. Nothing was done to rectify or smooth over the situation. The appetizers ( tuna crude and octopus ) were excellent. The tomato and basil pasta was phenomenal. The main dishes were just average ( black cod and branzino ). The desert ( lemon cake ) was also nothing special. The service was good however the completely forgot my coffee. I guess they were tired as we ended up eating dinner at midnight.
Amazing food and service
Absolutely exquisite!
Amazing place!
Amazing food and service. Definitely worth the $$
I was a big fan of the West village location. However, they relocated onto Madison Avenue and the service is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Made a reservation at 8:30 and did not get seated until 9:15. Our server was rude, blatantly ignored us, and did not give us bread for 20 minutes. The food was great as always, but I would not recommend this place for a visit.
Was great from start to finish. A little on the pricey side.
Food was amazing, the hosts are lackluster
Best spaghetti ever! Our waiter, Ben, made our night!!
Great dining experience!!
Easter Brunch
Food was delicious and well-prepared but was inconsistent from what was described on the menu. This was explained that it was their first time doing brunch. Service was a little spotty, but overall was pleasant. We loved the live music. We would go back.
This is my 3rd visit (first at new location), and every time I go, I think it can't possibly be as delicious as I remember. And then, it is! Always order the spaghetti with tomato sauce (I know it sounds silly, but it's the best you'll ever have), and any of their stuffed pastas. The duck and foie gras ravioli were insane, and I could have eaten a hundred of the short rib agnolotti. Pasta portion sizes are just hefty enough, without being too much, and it's a great place to share lots of plates.
Note on service: they were very attentive to my husband's nut allergy, which we appreciated. So many restaurants make you feel like a burden for dietary restrictions, so it's always a relief to feel welcomed and taken care of.
Food was ok, but service was not good for an expensive restaurant.
Service and ambiance were excellent! Food overall is good but spaghetti is overrated. Prices are high for what you get and overall value is not worth it unless you just want to experience a FN chef restaurant.
Fantastic meal. Pleasant, knowledgeable service with incredible food. Our table had an assortment - but the Tuna Sousci (truffle wrapped Sashimi) , the Tomato basil pasta and the Short Rib and Bone Marrow Agniolotti were the table's favorites! I would highly recommend this for an authentic (if not modern take) on traditional Italian Cuisine.
We ate at the bar, Ben the bartender was top notch, knows his wine pairings, cocktails and attentive considering the vibrant crowd. Food was outstanding, highly recommend for date night or just stop in for a couple of drinks.
Made us wait 30 minutes even though we had a reservation, pretty unprofessional. Food was overpriced for something so bland.
Honestly really amazing food. But the service was so bad I will never go back again. Our service rolled his eyes at us. And we know he can provide good service because the table next to us got good service. So there goes a good restaurant next to my work place. Terrible service not worth the good food doesn't matter how amazing.
Great atmosphere and great food. And always great for people watching. We had a fantastic time there
Scarpetta is our place: anniversary, birthdays, celebrations when we book jobs...we always come to Scarpetta. The new location is absolutely gorgeous and as always the food and service were impeccable. I would love it if the wine list had some more reasonably priced wines. Perhaps an under 50 dollar section. We’ll be back. Often. Always.
I have a food allergy, and the staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. The chef was willing to accommodate my needs, and I am grateful.
In a city filled with fantastic restaurants, Scarpetta was an exceptional experience, made all the more special with the attentive service provided by our waiter, Gent. The food was outstanding (we shared three different pasta dishes, including the famous spaghetti, and finished with a delightful dessert). We’ll be back for sure!
Michael the host was so kind. He actually comped all our Prosecco for the night as we had to wait for over 45 minutes for a table. But hey it was Friday night. That was a very thoughtful and kind way to handle the situation.
Trendy spot with chic decor. I actually preferred the dessert to the main course. The service was excellent.
Beautiful people delicious food
If only we could have the old Scarpetta back. Upon walking into the restaurant I experienced a not so friendly welcome from 3 young girls with scowls on their faces. While I waited for the rest of my party to arrive I was told I could wait at the bar. The bar was completely full and I was unable to even squeeze through to order a drink. We were seated and waited over 10 minutes before our waiter came to the table. Our reservation was at 5:30 - this is not a busy time. We ordered 2 glasses of wine. The waiter brought out 2 already opened bottles of wine and clumsily poured a taste for my male date first, spilling some on the table. Then a taste for me, the lady. After ordering our wine...the amount poured was about 1/2 of what a full glass should be. It was laughable. 23$ for a half glass of house Cabernet is unfair. After placing our orders the waiter asked "are you sure.... you should probably try new things and not order the same dish". We have been dining with Scarpetta for years and have actually tasted everything on the menu. We know what we like. The poor service along with the 10 minute hike to the restrooms made for an unpleasant evening especially for a 300$ meal for two.
