I’ve been there multiple times and tonight was a disappointing experience. The waitress was so inattentive and didn’t know what she was doing. We asked for bread and water refills multiple times that never came. When our second course came, we had leftover dirty plates from the appetizers and she asked us if we wanted to swap our plates, as all of the waiters stood there with pasta. We then ordered two espresso martinis. 15 minutes later we ordered a decaf for someone with a heart problem. Bartender then tried to serve it and confirmed it was not decaf. She then tried to convince me that someone else drank the decaf instead of her making a mistake. Terrible service but the food was still consistent.

We went to Scarpetta for a friend's birthday, with six of us in the party. The food was outstanding, if somewhat expensive. The service was attentive, and they remembered to serve the dessert with a candle, after I noted it on the Open Table reservation. Very nice. Like most popular New York restaurants, it was very loud and hard to hear one another, which wasn't helped by the fairly loud music on top of the crowd. Overall, though, a great experience.

The service staff on reservation line and at reservation desk is extremely difficult to deal with, lacks professionalism and zero empathy towards customers. I asked for 15 mins extension and was told NO. I asked if they will let my family seated as I had a 4 year old and old grandma so I could join them later and I was told NO. They kept my 4 year old and old grandma waiting until I called and yelled at the reservation. This place offers good food but overall customer experience is pathetic.
