An Italian expression that means “little shoe” – or the shape bread takes when used to soak up a dish — Scarpetta represents the pure pleasure of savoring a meal down to its very last taste. Amongst many accolades, Scarpetta NYC received a three-star review from The New York Times and a nomination for Best New Restaurant in the country from the James Beard Foundation in 2009.

Disappointing. Nice venue and service is good, but food does not live up to what you would expect for a restaurant at this price point. Was not horrible by any means - it was fine - it’s just that in NYC, you can just get much better food for similar money.
Fresh quality lunch.
We had a reservation at 9 pm and waited 45 mn before someone was able to sit a party of 4 !
Hostesses were not very charming and seemed very annoyed when we checked a couple of time at their desk
We were waiting in the hotel lobby but no one came to bring us to our table
Music was not so great and way too loud ; service was fine and food delicious
This place is a gem. One of my favorite restaurants in NYC. It has it all, ambiance, great food, classy, a great vibe of its own creation, & not to mention top notch service.
We had an 8:30 reservation and didn’t get seated until 9:30. There were several other tables that stormed out before us for the same issue. The manager’s nonchalant attitude didn’t help diffuse the situation either. If you’re looking for the best Italian in the city where they also appreciate your business, check out L’Artusi or Bar Pitti. Scarpetta is NOT worth the wait.
They reached out to be sure we knew that the menu was breakfast not brunch at the time of our reservation. Lovely, quiet atmosphere. Good food. Rest rooms are far away and not handicapped accessible.
Loved every second of our dinner this evening.
Great time, even better food. Smaller sized tables, was my only issue lol
It was very nice, the portions were small considering the price. After our Show we ended up getting Pizza because we were hungry again.
Love Scarpetta, been here many times will be back many more!
Everything was good but this is the first time a waiter disclosed about the birthday at the beginning rather than just bringing the birthday dessert quietly so it would be a surprise.
Difficult to have a business conversation music was very load. Talked to manager an he stayed he couldn’t do anything about it as it was programmed. The later it gets the louder it will be turned up.
Great food along with exceptional service.
Birthday for my friend. They made it very nice.
Food was outstanding. Service was phenomenal. Our server, Craig, was friendly, attentive and engaging. I can’t say enough about how great Craig was. We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner and we definitely plan to come back.
I’ve eaten here before but this might be my last time. The service was terrible and the food was mediocre. I had the halibut which was extremely bland. Overall I was so disappointed I will no longer recommend it, which is a shame because it’s right around the corner from me.
Having eaten at the Las Vegas location we were eager to try one of our favorites in NYC.....meh. One dish was of the usual quality that we expected and our waiter either had too many tables or just didn’t want to be there as he was always in a hurray to not be at our table. Probably won’t be back at either location now.
Food was great and the staff did comp us some things but we waited an hour for our table we reserved on Valentine’s Day. I get it, they were slammed but an hour is crazy to wait when you make a reservation weeks in advance.
We went for Valentine’s Day, for which there was a price fixed menu only. We had a 9:30 reservation and arrived on time. We waited 20 minutes, standing in the crowded bar area before being seated, and then we were seated in the bar area and not the main dining room. While we were on our appetizers I was told they were out of the pasta I had ordered. The food itself was very good although not memorable, and the service at the table was fine. However given the special occasion, the limited and not inexpensive menu and the fact that the reservation had to be guaranteed by a credit card, I thought they could have done better. Because the food was good I would consider going back to try the regular menu.
Food quality and service is consistently great here. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. We were here for the price fixe Valentines Day dinner. Perfect from start to finish!
Good for a one-time experience. Service was excellent. Food was OK for the money.
I hadn't been in a while. No particular reason. I had been before for dinner and it was excellent. This time we went for lunch - also very good and service was excellent. This time I will make sure to be back soon.
If you don’t care about money, the place is great. There was a wine expert came up to the table and I told him what kind of wine I liked. He said he had just the thing. He came back with a twenty dollar glass of wine. I didn’t know how much it was and had three of them. I was surprised by the price. Felt a little jipped...
We had a reservation and were counting on being in the restaurant. Instead we were seated in the noisy bar section. The service was very poor, taking too long to serve us and then being out of the wine we ordered. The Sommelier did not pay attention to what we wanted and first brought a replacement wine that was terrible. We accepted the next one, so we would not have to deal with him anymore. He could have made a much better sale had me paid attention. The food was delicious.
Great restaurant, great food and amazing brunch deal! Re command this place very likely!!
Waited an hour with a reservation. Was comped an appetizer and round of drinks for the wait. Food was excellent.
If I could give it 10 Stars I would. Absolutely amazing from start to finish.
I have heard there were issues with noise while dining I didn't have that issue but we ate at 5:30. Food and service was excellent. Desserts were delicious. I would prefer a little more room between tables as we really only had about 6 inches between tables and they put 3 of us on a table that was barely sufficient for 2.
Limited menu for average food was very much over hyped before we went
Came here with my boyfriend for restaurant week. I was very excited to try a new restaurant. We ordered from the prixe fixe menu, which seemed appetizing. The waiter came off very cold as was the temperature in the restaurant - we were freezing. We even asked the waiter to turn up the heat, which was not done. Then the food was also cold and subpar. I expected more from a place like this. Nothing from this place was good enough to remember. Also where they sat us, everyone kept bumping my boyfriends chair, especially the staff. I don’t know if it was restaurant week or what the case was but I most definitely wouldn’t come back for overpriced food and drink with lackluster service.
