An Italian expression that means “little shoe” – or the shape bread takes when used to soak up a dish — Scarpetta represents the pure pleasure of savoring a meal down to its very last taste. Amongst many accolades, Scarpetta NYC received a three-star review from The New York Times and a nomination for Best New Restaurant in the country from the James Beard Foundation in 2009.

Great dinner! Pricey
Quite a scene over at Scarpetta. Dishes are interesting and well executed but we weren’t bowled over by the experience. Dishes are relatively pricey. I think there are better experiences at this price point elsewhere.
Moms birthday was incredible thanks your wonderful service
The service was excellent and ambience was very nice, however I felt the food lacked a bit of flavor, particularly the Nero lobster dish which looked amazing but didn't have much flavor for some reason.
I made a reservation for two friends for their birthday for Saturday at 1:30pm, confirmed the night before via telephone, received a contact tracing text from them the morning of and they didn’t open until 5pm.
Very disappointed with Scarpetta after seeing the incredibly high ratings. We went for my daughter's grad and had admittedly high expectations given the reviews and prices. The bread was excellent. The razor clams were a classic example of form over function. Tiny portion with minimal flavor -- one open clam shell laying on a big disc of kosher salt. The Duck Confit & fois gras ravioli had very little flavor (how is that possible with duck and fois gras?) and was markedly over salted. The Cacio e Pepi ravioli was even more over salted, lacking flavor, and some were partially filled with water. The portions were very small.
The service and ambience were great.
So, if you want good service and ambience and don't mind poor quality food priced at levels that would demand excellence, go for it!
Had a great birthday meal here. Amazing food, great drinks, and excellent service.
lovely as usual! the atmosphere is perfect for any date
Since the pandemic, we have all tried to help the restaurants. The food was amazing. The bartenders and servers were professional and fantastic but I cannot believe we still have hostesses refusing to sit a patron for a 6:30pm reservation until the full party arrives. I understand you are trying to maximize your seating but it took no time to get back to this type of seating policy. It’s uncomfortable and with the bar packed, there is no where to comfortably sit to wait for your guests.
They forgot our food and we waited 1.5 hour for five plates of pasta
10/10 would recommend. Food was delicious, service was on point. Even the bread basket was well thought out and had a great variety.
Too expensive for the food. Nothing very special at all. Outside seating is great but even with a reservation we weren’t seated until the third person arrived. This from a restaurant that cost $500 for dinner for three! So hung out on the corner. Management was very nice but noting makes up for not being seated.
Wonderful dinner at Scarpetta! They have lovely outdoor seating. My beet salad, striped bass and chocolate cake were all so delicious. My server Alec was awesome and made certain that all was perfect. It’s a little pricey, but definitely worth every penny for the fine quality and service.
Great food service and ambiance. Its pricey though so be prepared to leave your wallet behind
Great food, service and ambiance. Would definitely recommend and go again
We loved the terrific staff. The experience was really great in the beginning. Then the noise level was too much.
Pasta excellent. Nice sized portions. However, very expensive.
So good So good So good!! Nothing more to say..just go!
Incredibly wonderful food, cocktails, wines and ambiance...for sure! While we felt a bit rushed, we realized our party of 4 was not moving along as expected in this era of social distancing... Incredible appetizers and even greater entrees. The branzino -superb; the lobster negronini - exquisite... Burrata, octopus, short ribs - all fabulous. My dirty martini was beyond perfect. The wine suggested by the sommelier was also a hit. Our server was in good spirits and made excellent suggestions... Oh, and the desserts are a must! Do it. Totally worth it. Thanks for a loverly evening, with my sisters whom I hugged for the first time since the pandemic began! A very special evening...
It was one of those weekend NYC nights where everyone was out and about. I happened to be late for the reservation but they were very accommodating and seated us right away...The food was great and the ambience even better! Would definitely recommend it for date night or for a friends get together
Very late to seat even with a reservation, loud tables and large groups, and very slow service.
Food is delicious, excellent service, cool trendy atmosphere, chic stylish decor
Would love to come back
I was expecting much more because of all the great things I've heard. Next time in NY I will give it a second chance
Overall solid place but the experience felt rushed likely due to Covid.
The staff was great. It is one of our favorite restaurants in the city.
Loved the atmosphere! Delicious dinner
We had a special occasion as we were celebrating an engagement and since we had to wait over a half hour, they were able to offer us a private room which made up for the extra wait time!
Scarpetta is fine dining at its best! A very special place for a meal in NYC!
Great options for a date night dining experience. Excellent cocktails and mocktails. Seasonal changes to menu are outstanding taking advantage of spring veggies like zucchini blossoms, peas and asparagus. Will be back
I can give easy 5 stars restaurant, amazing food beautiful place nice vibe perfect service :) I really recommend!
The vibe was chill and the setting was perfect for catching up without being too loud. The waiter was attentive and had no complaints except for the portions. I had the mozzarella appetizer and the ravioli for my main both of which were extremely small portions.
aAlways consistent and delicious. the service is friendly and gracious.
Amazing service and experience! #LDVlife
Great experience for my birthday dinner. Staff was really great. The spaghetti and short rib ravioli were awesome. Great room and vibe. Really enjoyed it!
Great place, would def recommend and would go again !
Great birthday dinner. Delicious food, beautiful restaurant and great service. Our server was very friendly. Service felt a little rushed but it might be due to COVID (they don’t want people staying for more than 90 mins)
10% covid surchage on an already expensive dinner caught us by surprise
Everything was perfect! Great food, service & atmosphere. Felt like we were back to normal. Great evening!
Excellent food and service.
The concierge and hosts were rather rude and that tends to set the scene. Happy to be eating out and spending money in NY. The food and service were great once we sat down. Don’t know that I’ll be back because of the initial presentation.
