An Italian expression that means “little shoe” – or the shape bread takes when used to soak up a dish — Scarpetta represents the pure pleasure of savoring a meal down to its very last taste. Amongst many accolades, Scarpetta NYC received a three-star review from The New York Times and a nomination for Best New Restaurant in the country from the James Beard Foundation in 2009.

Thank you for the best hospitality in the city!
Food and service was fantastic. The tables were very close together so it was a bit uncomfortable.
Waited for an hour past our reservation time to be seated. The host’s excuse was “Well, it’s a Saturday night.”
Food and service was great! I treated my husband for our 10yr anniversary. The tomato and basil pasta dish although it sounds simple it was delicious and satisfied our pasta craving! The burrata app and polenta app were amazing! If you like truffle def go with the polenta!
Family birthday celebration. Great food and wonderful service.
White wine arrived warm and it took too long to get chilled. Menu is too limited
Great service and food was delicious! Friendly staff and great ambiance and crowd. Will definitely be back soon! Thanks for a great experience!
The staff at the entrance and especially the manager with glasses and curly hair are so miserable and pretentious it’s not a warm or welcoming experience at all.
Great food and atmosphere, however the tables were too cramped. We could literally here the entire conversation of our neighboring table. We asked the restaurant to switch the table but they did not care a single bit. So much for customer satisfaction.
Terrible experience, I ordered pasta and it came after 1 hour and it was cold and the waiter never checked up on us. Then the man who poured water asked how good was I said it was cold and took more than an hour for just the tomato pasta. He then shrugged and walked away. Then waiter came because we asked for check, and I told him the food was cold and he did not come to check up on us once, he goes “the pasta was not cold I saw steam”. The steam was in fact condensation trapped in the plastic lid they put over the pasta. He then goes what do u want me to do about it? He then goes to the manager and they whisper in the corner and he returns with the same check and just drops in on the table and walks away.
My chair was also hit every time a staff member walked by.
It was a terrible experience and I would never recommend this place to anyone. The waiter also ignored my table and only focused on the older male men who were there and did not give me the time of day. I am a female in my early 20s and I feel as though he was not taking me seriously.
Very good place to dine for all types of events
We went here for dinner before a show in Time Square and it was fantastic. The servers were so knowledgeable, friendly, and helped us get to our show on time! Highly recommend.
They rushed us out of there like we were in a cafeteria
There's a balance between under and over serving and I don't like when a busboy grabs our plates immediatly after we take the last bite.
I'm also not fond of being seating at a table so small that if we ordered more food there wouldn't be room for it and so close to other diners, especially now.
It took a long time to get our lattes and when they finally were served they were luke warm.
The waitress was very good but then we lost her towards the end when it started filling up and we couldn't get her attention to pay the check. One of the managers picked up the check holder with credit cards so we were happy as we wanted to pay and leave but he returned telling me that there was a problem with the 2 Neighborhood Nosh (was Idine) reward cards that I had given him aong with my plat AMEX for the balance. We wanted to get out of there so I paid with my AMEX but I had just checked the cards and knew they were good.
I called the number of my reward cards and was told that he tried to put through my reward cards for amounts different from the amounts which are on the cards. She informed me of the amounts he put through on both cards and they were totally different amounts than were on the cards so I don't understand why he did that. When he returned the cards to me he pointed to exactly where the amounts were so it's not like he was confused what they were???
At any rate I hate giving bad reviews but my husband and I enjoy fine dining and Scarpetta sorley missed. There are so many fine restaurants in Manhattan. We would not return to Scarpetta.
Great service and great atmosphere but the food was disappointing. Cappuccino at the end of the meal was cold.
Quality food. Amazing service.
We had a fantastic time. Our server, Filip, was wonderfully attentive, and gave excellent suggestions.
To start, we had the burrata and octopus. Both were excellent. I’m not usually a fan of octopus, because it’s so easy to overcook and under-season, but this was delightful. Burrata is always amazing, and this was no different.
For dinner, we had the lobster tagliolini nero and the short rib agnolotti. Both were excellent, but the short rib, was sensational.
For dessert, we went with the budino, which is a favorite of mine, and this espresso infused budino did not disappoint.
If you are a wine drinker, they have an extensive collection, but since we are cocktail people, we went with the la dolce vida and the il bandito and were thrilled with our choices.
There were so many other appealing options on the menu, so next time we are in NYC, I’m definitely going back.
It was very disappointing to visit the New York location. I felt uncomfortable since the tables were way too small to accommodate food and drinks. I felt rushed to enjoy my expensive bottle of wine , the servers were on top of you rushing to take the order and everything came too fast between courses. God forbid you are having a romantic date… It would be ruined. The wine is too expensive, at other locations the price is around double of what you pay , here it was triple. A $ 70 dollar wine costed $220 here. Way too much of a mark up. The food was rushed and didn’t taste anything as good as the other two locations. Very bad experience, I won’t be back for sure. This comes from someone that has been to the other two Scarpetta locations in both gurneys resorts at Montauk and Rhode Island.
IT'S A FANTASTIC RESTAURANT FOR ANY OCCASION ,GREAT FOOD ,BEAUTIFUL RESTAURANT
Always the best!
Impeccable service. Tasty cocktails. Great wine option. Attentive but not overbearing staff.
So we literally last minute decided on Scarpetta for my birthday. We were flying out later that night, so dinner was at 530. We were greeted by friendly hostesses (a rarity in NYC) and seated at a corner banquette. The bread we were given was almost dinner: ham rolled in focaccia, squash baked onto some delicious bread and perfect ciabatta, accompanied by citrus olive oil, eggplant camponanta and mascarpone butter. Omg. We shared the burratta starter (made in house) and the waygu strip (cooked PERFECTLY RARE!). The Nebbiolo by the glass was lovely. They brought us dessert, compliments of the house, and it was insane. Managers stopped by our table throughout the meal, genuinely concerned for our enjoyment. The real star was our waitress. I only wish we caught her name! She was attentive without being intrusive, friendly and just a joy to be helped by. Scarpetta never disappoints.
This is the first time we have been back here since before the pandemic and it was extremely disappointing. Most of our food was cold. It all looked gorgeous but was over cooked, cold and tasteless. When we mentioned something to our waitress, she actually made a joke about it. She didn’t offer any apologies or anything. She never once asked if we liked our food or asked how we were doing once food was delivered. Very disappointed. This used to be one of our faves.
Loud as hell. Great food.
Top notch service & high quality menu. Top to bottom
Incredible and amazing every single time.
Amazing. Manager Armand was great
We were not seated until 30 mins after our reservation time. I’m confused around the purpose of making a reservation if I’m going to have to wait anyways. The host was also rude and gave an attitude when I checked in to see how much longer the wait should be. Waiting to be seated 30 minutes after a reservation is just not how a proper business should be run, and is indicative of operational maturity required to run sustainably.
Disappointing compared to previous experiences. Too many customers for the amount of staff. We waited an hour between started and main course. The staff were resolved to the fact that the standards had slipped without taking responsibility for the experience. The ambience didn’t feel energised - it felt chaotic. Embarrassing as we were hosting business colleagues.
Food was great unfortunately 6 of us were put at a table for 4
Amazing food and service
Excellent pasta dishes and very very helpful and friendly service.
Excellent food and service. Worth it.
I came all the way in from NJ with a bottle of wine and they wouldn’t let me open it for the corkage fee because they have the same bottle on their menu - an obnoxious rule that I’ve never heard of in my life.
Great dinner! Pricey
Quite a scene over at Scarpetta. Dishes are interesting and well executed but we weren’t bowled over by the experience. Dishes are relatively pricey. I think there are better experiences at this price point elsewhere.
Food and drinks were great, especially the appetizers. Ambience is nice
Moms birthday was incredible thanks your wonderful service
The service was excellent and ambience was very nice, however I felt the food lacked a bit of flavor, particularly the Nero lobster dish which looked amazing but didn't have much flavor for some reason.
