An Italian expression that means “little shoe” – or the shape bread takes when used to soak up a dish — Scarpetta represents the pure pleasure of savoring a meal down to its very last taste. Amongst many accolades, Scarpetta NYC received a three-star review from The New York Times and a nomination for Best New Restaurant in the country from the James Beard Foundation in 2009.

Food was outstanding. Service was phenomenal. Our server, Craig, was friendly, attentive and engaging. I can’t say enough about how great Craig was. We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner and we definitely plan to come back.
I’ve eaten here before but this might be my last time. The service was terrible and the food was mediocre. I had the halibut which was extremely bland. Overall I was so disappointed I will no longer recommend it, which is a shame because it’s right around the corner from me.
Having eaten at the Las Vegas location we were eager to try one of our favorites in NYC.....meh. One dish was of the usual quality that we expected and our waiter either had too many tables or just didn’t want to be there as he was always in a hurray to not be at our table. Probably won’t be back at either location now.
We went for Valentine’s Day, for which there was a price fixed menu only. We had a 9:30 reservation and arrived on time. We waited 20 minutes, standing in the crowded bar area before being seated, and then we were seated in the bar area and not the main dining room. While we were on our appetizers I was told they were out of the pasta I had ordered. The food itself was very good although not memorable, and the service at the table was fine. However given the special occasion, the limited and not inexpensive menu and the fact that the reservation had to be guaranteed by a credit card, I thought they could have done better. Because the food was good I would consider going back to try the regular menu.
Food quality and service is consistently great here. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. We were here for the price fixe Valentines Day dinner. Perfect from start to finish!
Good for a one-time experience. Service was excellent. Food was OK for the money.
I hadn't been in a while. No particular reason. I had been before for dinner and it was excellent. This time we went for lunch - also very good and service was excellent. This time I will make sure to be back soon.
If you don’t care about money, the place is great. There was a wine expert came up to the table and I told him what kind of wine I liked. He said he had just the thing. He came back with a twenty dollar glass of wine. I didn’t know how much it was and had three of them. I was surprised by the price. Felt a little jipped...
We had a reservation and were counting on being in the restaurant. Instead we were seated in the noisy bar section. The service was very poor, taking too long to serve us and then being out of the wine we ordered. The Sommelier did not pay attention to what we wanted and first brought a replacement wine that was terrible. We accepted the next one, so we would not have to deal with him anymore. He could have made a much better sale had me paid attention. The food was delicious.
Great restaurant, great food and amazing brunch deal! Re command this place very likely!!
Waited an hour with a reservation. Was comped an appetizer and round of drinks for the wait. Food was excellent.
If I could give it 10 Stars I would. Absolutely amazing from start to finish.
I have heard there were issues with noise while dining I didn't have that issue but we ate at 5:30. Food and service was excellent. Desserts were delicious. I would prefer a little more room between tables as we really only had about 6 inches between tables and they put 3 of us on a table that was barely sufficient for 2.
Limited menu for average food was very much over hyped before we went
Came here with my boyfriend for restaurant week. I was very excited to try a new restaurant. We ordered from the prixe fixe menu, which seemed appetizing. The waiter came off very cold as was the temperature in the restaurant - we were freezing. We even asked the waiter to turn up the heat, which was not done. Then the food was also cold and subpar. I expected more from a place like this. Nothing from this place was good enough to remember. Also where they sat us, everyone kept bumping my boyfriends chair, especially the staff. I don’t know if it was restaurant week or what the case was but I most definitely wouldn’t come back for overpriced food and drink with lackluster service.
Very friendly staff, waitress we had was awesome and very attentive! Would go back again!!!!!
Even the we made a reservation we still waited one hour
Excellent experience. Thank you for
A wonderful meal.
Fortunately our lovely server brought biscotti at the end of the meal. I am a light eater but the portions there are miniscule. Polenta came in a tiny pot, maybe 4 oz tops. A beet salad had a couple of juvenile representatives of the category.
We celebrated my best friend’s birthday. Everything was wonderful. Thank you.
Food glorious. Decibel level painful. Bar is quieter than the dining room, which is where we'll sit when we return.
It was ok ! Best part the bread
Had the GoodLife brunch. Excellent selections, good sized portions & fine service. The agnolotti was exceptional. Highly recommended.
Beautiful restaurant and amazing food. The service was also really outstanding - very attentive.
Try the braised short rib and the seared scallops!!
Excellent!!! Everything was wonderful!! Great food! Great atmosphere! Great Service
Amazing food and service! Will definitely be back
We had to wait 25 minutes even with a reservation... but they did offer us free Prosecco so we weren’t too upset! The restaurant week menu was amazing- we loved the polenta, yellowtail (insanely good), and of course the basil spaghetti- unreal. The olive oil cake was just okay and a little dry. It’s pretty pricey but always delicious!
Gent our waiter was amazing!
We did have to wait 30 min for our table but the hostess were very kind about it
Lovely ambiance BUT TOO NOISY!!
And a little expensive for the offer
But we had a nice time
Food was very good as usual but the noise level in the bar room approached unbearable. Would be nice to be given an option when making reservations. It's also very expensive so if you don't feel like shelling out $30 for a bowl of spaghetti marinara seek other digs...
The only place in the world where I would order spaghetti with tomato sauce!
Mixed experience. Polenta appetizer delicious; chicken entree, meh. Wine by the glass choice choice ok; pour stingy, given the high price of a glass. Ambiance high-end; but noise level way too high probably due to crowding of tables. Overall, no reason to return.
Great ambience, great setting and even better food. What more can you ask for? Easily one of the best Italian restaurants in the city.
Quite literally, perfection personified. This was my first visit but will certainly not be my last.
They forgot our cappuccino at the end of the night, but it didn’t matter. Everything else was amazing! Food, service, decor... terrific experience!
A wonderful experience; beautiful room, lovely staff, food was outstanding. Highly recommend!
Muy buena la comida muy buen servicio y el lugar muy divertido
Definitely would go again.
I have eaten at Scarpetta many times both in a group setting and a romantic dinner for two. When I made the reservation on Open Table I would have appreciated the restaurant informing me that the table would be in the bar area. I would have made a reservation elsewhere. The food is always excellent and our waiter was great but when I make a reservation I assume it's in the dining room.
Gent and Alec made our evening amazing!
