An Italian expression that means “little shoe” – or the shape bread takes when used to soak up a dish — Scarpetta represents the pure pleasure of savoring a meal down to its very last taste. Amongst many accolades, Scarpetta NYC received a three-star review from The New York Times and a nomination for Best New Restaurant in the country from the James Beard Foundation in 2009.

This was my first visit to Scarpetta. My friend and I loved the entire experience. From the friendly hostesses to the dessert after our delicious meals. I had the spaghetti. She had the branzino. The taste was unforgettable! Look forward to returning soon. Thank you!
Hello, I hope this gets to the owners.
I am mexican living in Mexico City. The first time I went to Scarpetta was 2014, everything was outstanding that time.
I returned in 2015, 16, 17, and last weekend. Until 2017 they kept their quality standards.
Last weekend was really dissapointing.
There was a lot of noise, the waiters were hard to reach, excelent attitude, but hard to reach. The food was average.
We had the red snapper, lobster pasta and the agnolotti (every time i've visited Scarpetta, i've had the same agnolotti).
The wine and the dessert were very good.
I really looked forward to dinning at Scarpetta on my annual NY visit, I think the time to look for a new restaurant has arrived.
Maybe the change to a larger location generated the loss of quality.
Also, I had a reservation, I got stuck on the subway but called 10 mins before the reservation hour to let them know i was going to be 15 mins late, and still had to wait another 15 mins to be seated.
Thank you Scarpetta for the past visits.
Service and food were great but portions were very very small. We ended up ordering Dominos pizza on the app while our check came.
Delicious meal, beautiful ambiance. Loved the "La Dolce Vita" cocktail! Wish we had left room for a dessert from their truly spectacular dessert menu. Can't wait to come again! Service was prompt and attentive, very polite. Great experience.
Martin is great! I’ve been twice this month and both experiences have been outstanding. The grilled octopus, cavatelli and short rib and bone marrow pasta are go-to’s.
Would highly recommend for any occasion, food was excellent start to finish.
The main courses were very good but the veggie sides were not as tasty as we hoped for. The staff were very friendly, the service was good. I didn’t like hearing the conversation next to me especially on a romantic dinner out.
Our waiter was the best!
We have dined at Scarpetta on several occasions in New York and Las Vegas. It's always an amazing taste sensation with dishes that are unique and delicious! We have always found service to be fantastic and close to perfection. The new location in NYC is pretty loud but it has it's own ambiance that is consistent with a busy, vibrant city! My husband is obsessed with the duck ravioli with marsala reduction and I am on a mission to try everything on the menu. You can't go wrong with Scarpetta, it's literally the best food we have ever eaten!
My waiter said my credit card was declined. And he entered the data himself. My card was fine but my seat mate had to pay. I called the credit card company they said my card was fine but the person entering data entered it wrong.
So you have idiots working for you. Good luck getting me to come back you embarrassed me because of a waiter who’s a dope.
In my experience, booking a reservation on opentable, basically sets you up to be put in a less desirable location in the restaurant. We weren’t seated in the formal dining area. They sat us in the bar area which was incredibly tight and loud. The service was rushed but everything seemed to take forever. The food is good but the whole experience made it seem mediocre at best. Not worth the wait or the price tag.
Such an amazing meal and a truly wonderful experience! Can’t wait to come back!
The service was awesome and the food really good! We had such a great time
This place was worth the wait in a very crowded restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was precise. Beware of the expensive drinks. Two drinks were $50.00! The bathroom is in another building so it’s a walk. Overall a nice experience but be prepared to pay a pretty penny.
We were seated and hour after our reservation; after being told the table was being cleaned up and it would be a few minutes. They did comp a glass of prosecco
Dinner at Scarpetta was even more lovely than I could have imagined. The waitstaff was attentive, the atmosphere was sophisticated, elegant, and intimate, and the food was incredible. Highly recommend!
Nice atmosphere great food pleasant staff
Had dinner tonight for the first time with a friend that I have not seen in about a year. It was restaurant week so we took advantage of the special menu. Awesome. Amazing. Excellent. Will return....food was A+++ and service was very good! Highly recommend!
Scarpetta’s meals are amazing.
It took much time to come and take orders.
I was kicked my chair many times by your waiters.
Awesome service, food and ambience
We went for restaurant week lunch . The place is really lovely and the wait staff couldn't be more attentive. The food not as I had expected after reading all the wonderful reviews. Do they serve less quality food for restaurant week? Not sure. It just didn't wow,me . I had,the beet salad and the branzino which were just ok
Sorry Scarpetta loved the setting and staff but wouldn't recommend or come back.
Great food and service!! Probably the most delicious food we had while in NYC!
Checking to our reservation was somewhat uncomfortable. We approached the hostess and informed her that we were early to our reservation. She politely told us to wait till she found a table to accommodate us. While we spoke to her a man with a man bun, that works there, kept looking at my group up and down like he had never seen a group of Spanish people before. We ignored the looks and waited on the side. We were seated within a minute. Man with the man bun followed us to see where we were seated, without even greeting us. Very awkward start to our meal.
The staff is friendly and the appetizers were amazing, but the restaurant week lunch main course was a big disappointment for me and my mom. The pickled flavor of the fish was really overpowering, and we were shocked that there was no red meat option on the menu. We probably could have asked more about the fish before ordering it, but the information wasn't exactly volunteered either. I am sure the regular menu is much better as the appetizers really were great, but a miss is a miss.
Food was wonderful but portions were minuscule
We came here for the first time with friends for restaurant week . We were offered both menus to choose from . Three of us went with the special menu - choices were good and all enjoyed their dishes. Spaghetti a signature dish we were informed, was perfectly cooked and flavored , the Branzino was crispy and tender , delicious—the chicken dish was inspired and tasty . Appetizers of polenta with mushrooms was creamy and delicate , portion sizes were adequate, we were not hungry after our desserts of panacatta and chocolate cake . The service was extremely attentive , our waiter was charming and gracious . A good meal was enjoyed by all , we will return . The restaurant week deal was a great way to sample the fare at this place at a moderate cost .
Perfect service and amazingly simple food
Awesome! Love it! Will go back! Food and service are both goooood. Waiters cool, lol
Yum. This place rocks. Great atmosphere and food and service and awesome. Branzino was perfect. The famous pasta and tomato sauce dish was perfect....served under glass. Unique presentation and worth every penny!
The pasta and polenta were absolutely amazing and are must haves. Additionally, our server Santos was extremely kind and attentive, he was a definite highlight of the experience!
My bestie and I realized it was restaurant week and knew immediately we wanted to eat here! Staff was great, food was amazing and the new location has great ambiance.
Went for RW day 2. Busy Tuesday night. Service seemed a little short staffed but Sarah C was great and genuinely hospitable. Wish the mushrooms came separate from the polenta but for RW, totally understand. Proteins were well executed on entrees but tasted mass produced vs. individually picked up to order. Polenta, spaghetti, panna cotta way to go for RW.
Can’t say enough about the meal, service, som. All ridiculous. Went off restaurant week but 10000-% will be back again soon. Every dish better than the last. I’ve eaten at their Vegas and Miami location but this one blew it out of the water.
visited Scarpetta for my daughters 21st birthday. Food lovely waiter Craig was a fantastic host
would recommend. Thank you for a great service.
Scarpetta was delicious and the service was impeccable. I made the reservation on open table and noted that it was my boyfriend's birthday and they made sure to bring out a special dessert with birthday plate. We met a friend there for late lunch and truly enjoyed the ambiance. Would definitely recommend!!
Love the food and the service
One of my favorite restaurants in Manhattan.
