Scarpetta - Fontainebleau Miami Beach Ratings and Reviews
This was my second time here and most likely my last! The service was impeccable! My polenta with mushrooms was amazing as previous. The octopus appetizer was overly seasoned with too many Kalamata olives that overtook the flavor of the dish. Both of our pasta entree were also too garlicky (Pici w mushrooms & asparagus) and far too lemony(lobster pasta). Well, two quarter sized pieces of lobster. We hoped both dishes would get better, but dind’t. I’m done paying those prices for a sub par food!
Had so much fun for my birthday here! Made us feel so welcome and the waiter was so attentive. I'm a vegan/strict vegetarian so my options were limited but he knew the menu well and knew what could be made into a vegan option or just vegetarian-Love this place!
Food was great and great ambiance. The server was very nice but it was uncomfortable and weird when he asked if we were celebrating anything special? We responded “ yes! Our engagement !” And then he didn’t say ANYTHING? A bit weird. Otherwise good experience.
Italian cuisine in Miami has much better places than here for the price. Seems they can only cook what is on the menu without variation. A signature pasta like tomatoe / basil is not worth 20 for something that tastes like its out of a jar. Sorry but you need to have a few more complex capabilities. Service is very good but at these prices, better another cuisine.
Have never been to a restaurant that just had such a hard "sell", the waiter was extremely annoyingly. We felt the only thing he was interested in was selling , wine , entrees , etc in order to receive a larger tip. He never offers us more bread with our pasta ,
Only concerned about more wine ! If I had the nerve, I would have left 0 tip. The management needs to speak to the waiters about how to treat their guests!!!
The server ( from Peru) was Outstanding. The food in general was good. Unfortunaly, the Octopus apetizer was horrible (strong , fishy flavor, old), very disappointing and spoiled the rest of the experience. We hope the Chef does it better. No excuses. We are very familiar with Octopus catch, cooking and preparation 🐙.
We enjoyed our meal very much. I had the Mediterranean Octopus for the starter, Crab Tagliatelle for the main, and the Chocolate cake for dessert. The cake for me was too rich and the gelato didn’t bring much balance to the plate; I also wish the cake was warmer. The ambiance was nice I would lower the volume of the music; it was difficult to hear the waitress and the person across. These things didn’t ruin the experience for me, but would’ve made it much better. Would definitely go back.
I had high expectations for this restaurant. It is very pretty, but quite noisy. The service was good, but the waiter came over too many times. We had the scallop appetizer. There were only 2 scallops on the plate, cut in half, and the price was $23....a bit high. I enjoyed the spaghetti very much, but the dish my friend ordered was the "snapper". I've never seen a piece of snapper that was so thick and tough. It is usually a thinner piece of fish and very moist. I should have insisted that he send it back. I don't mind paying for food and ambiance, and I knew Scarpetta would be expensive, but overall, I was disappointed in the meal which was really overpriced for the amount of food served.
Just excellent food. I had octopus and fish. It was cooked very good, nice taste and presentation. The desert I chose was not exceptional but they offered me an other one and it was much better. The chef is really good there. The service is excellent. The servers nice and very professionnal. I have been to other places in Miami but this one is the best in all criteria for me. I highly recommand Scarpetta at Fontainebleau. You won't be desapointed.
Had the most wonderful anniversary meal! The tasting menu was more than just a taste, we left incredibly well fed. The staff and service was the best I have ever seen. The only gripe I have with my experience was that they seated us in the lounge/bar area where people wait to be seated. I would have preferred to be in the main dining area so that started my meal off a little poorly but everything more than made up for it.
Fantastic food, excellent service, and defines what an award-winning dining experience should be like. Pricing is comparable to other restaurants in the same category but with Scarpetta what you pay for is truly what you get. We were left extremely impressed.
Note, the chef recommendations were excellent choices.
Dined at Scarpetta based on a few recommendations. The signature cocktails were perfect and the bartenders were happy to help find the perfect one for each particular taste in the group. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and offered to split meals when two in our group couldn't decide between dishes. We only ordered appetizers and entrees and everything was delicious. We didn't have enough room for dessert. I would gladly return to this restaurant.
I was excited to dine here but in the end left underwhelmed. The service was slow, I ordered a meal without mushrooms, the server said he would have it prepared without and mark it with an allergy - my meal came covered in mushrooms.
The food was overly salty and left me wishing I had made other plans for dinner.
WOW. This has to be our favourite Italian restaurant in south beach! We are here 2 days in a row! 1st day had the spaghetti (probably one of the best I’ve had) and the filet as a main. Cooked perfectly. The next day I tried their price fix menu with the mozzarella Carozza (amazing!), the spaghetti again and the pana cotta for dessert.
