   We had a great night. Robert was our waiter and he was very accommodating. Although we sat in the dining room and it was Monday we were approved to have the $1.00 oysters at our table. We wanted steak and it did not disappoint. One Rib Eye Chop and a 24 oz T bone. It was huge and I am a big man but could not finish it. The price point was great and cooked perfectly. Just love the ambiance and the service and the food is always fantastic.... Michael Godjikian

   This was my first time at Scarlet Oak. The appetizers, main courses,desserts and cocktails were amazing. What topped it off was our wonderful waitress Jenn T. I look forward to returning again soon.

   We met friends we have not seen for a long time and our waiter was just wonderful. He gave us time to talk and make up our mind on what we were having. He had wonderful suggestions and was very attentive. The food was excellent and we will probably come again when we are in Massachusetts. There was a table of 6 that were quite loud and it made it difficult to talk. We had a reservation and were taken on time. The other couple we were with had been to your place before and suggested it us, because we are from Texas. We were quite impressed.

   I live on the Cape. Our friend lives in East Boston. We were looking for a new midway point and boy did we find it. We sat outside, and except for the noise from the road, (our table was closest to the road), it was absolutely picture perfect. Even our dog could join us. We had a delicious birthday lunch: seared tuna for one, salmon for another, and an Angus burger for the third. All were terrific, as was the lemonade. And the waiter. Even though it is 55 minutes from home, it is clearly a place we will return to....the inside tavern and restaurant looked very inviting for a winter meal as well.

   This is our GO TO Date Night restaurant. The Farm to Table Menu in the Summer is always delicious. The seafood, specifically the Oysters for me, are fresh, Briney and delicious. This place is Great!

   Service was excellent and the wine, beer and coffee drink were great also. My only complaint is the same as the last time I went, they can't cook a steak properly. I asked for my steak medium, which their own menu says slight pink inside and it came out rare. My wife asked for Med/well and hers was way overcooked. Neither was inedible and we both ate them without complaint but not up to par. The last time we were there was 4 years ago and my steak first came out way, way overcooked, complained and the next steak came out still alive. Had the waitress send it back and just had it taken off my bill. They did also give me a $30 gift certificate, the price of the steak, in the hopes that I would come back. I just used it this last time and although better, they still can't cook a steak properly. Invest in some good meat thermometers. But we did have a good time, apps were good and I'd go back, just wouldn't get a steak.

   Hangar steak was delicious. Housemade cocktails were excellent. Great portions--generous but not disgustingly enormous--were great.

    We tend to go to Scarlett Oak's tavern side. We had dinner there years ago and for some reason something turned us off about eating on the more 'formal' side. We figured let's give a another try eating in the dining room. As we sat down at the booth it felt cramped...at least my husband and I felt it. But not enough to be moved to a open table with chairs. It didn't hamper us drinking but it did when the entrees came. We were 3 average sized people, 1 smaller person...once we started eating our elbows were hitting against the wall/each other cutting our meals and getting the food into our mouths. So eat at the table with the loose chairs or stay in the bar side as the food, atmosphere and service were very good.
