Scarlet Kitchen and Lounge
menu is varied with lots of options. The carrot tacos and lobseter tacos were fabulous. Other diners plates looked amazing too. Great service and tables nicely distanced apart. I will definitely be back soon for the hamburger which looked oh so tasty....
We just moved to the area and are so excited we have this delicious spot in our neighborhood. Service was impeccable and the food was so so good. Can't wait to go back.
The food was really good . It just got really crowded and loud and not allot of social distancing. Once every table was full it got crowded.
We have been to Scarlett several times already. This last time we took a couple of clients with us. Food is great as usual. Service is friendly but it took effort to get attention as the poor waitress had to take care of a lot of tables. There was live music on a Wednesday night which was a pleasant surprise to us. The singer was great but the sound level was a bit too high which made it challenging to have a conversation with our guests. Overall it was still very good.
We started going during the “Plandemic” when all you could do is get takeout. We did takeout about 6 or 7 times. The food was great and everyone was very nice. We’ve since been twice and eaten on the patio. The food is still great as is the service and we really enjoy the live music. So glad this place is here!
They had a very good menu and the food was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. The live music added a very nice touch to the dining experience. I’d highly recommend this restaurant.
Eating outside was very pleasant after it cooled down a bit. The salad and lobster roll were outstanding as were the staff, as usual! Love this place.
Food was good. Service was good. I just wish the music, which was good, was a bit softer as it was hard to talk to each other at the table.
Thursday HH was so fun we came back Friday night to listen to the music while drinking & eating!!
It was a fine experience but for the extremely high prices I didn’t feel it was worth it. It was Montage prices without the 5 star experience. I think the best thing was our hand- crafted cocktails before dinner. Very nicely done! There was live music which was nice but made it almost impossible to hold a conversation. Audio needed to be adjusted for such a small area. Don’t think I’ll return. If I’m going to spend fine dining prices I’ll go for a fine dining experience.
I was very disappointed to see the servers & other personnel wearing small plastic face "masks" that actually do nothing to protect them or the customer as the sides & bottom are open to all breath. It made me feel unsafe. That being said, I cannot return to Scarlett at this time. This is my only complaint.
I feel bad writing a negative review, particularly considering the struggle restaurants are going through right now with Covid-19 restrictions, so I'll start with the good, which is REALLY good - the entertainment was extraordinary. They've definitely secured the most talented guitarist/singer I've ever heard, and it was a joy to listen to her. The food was mediocre, sometimes bad. The 'liquid gold' was decent, but the homemade noodles were extra starchy, and stuck together in clumps, which I'd think could be remedied with a nice rinse or some olive oil. Overpriced, given what it is. Ordered the special, it didn't come with orzo as we were told, and the veggies on it were crunchy, not al dente, but essentially par-boiled. After switching to the risotto, we were sad to find out the shrimp was stale/old, based on its pungent flavor. Cocktails were quite uninspired for the most part, with 75% of them being vodka-based. I know we're in the minority here, but unfortunately we agreed it was quite a poor experience, and we were hopeful to discover another local gem with this restaurant.
Even despite having to deal with the Covid restrictions, Scarlet Kitchen was the perfect place to celebrate our daughter's 21st. Had read a review in the paper pre-covid and was excited to finally try. Friendly greeting from the moment you walked in the door. Ashley, our server, took great care of us. The musical entertainment was fabulous and did not compete with our conversation. Cocktails were so creative! We devoured our bacon wrapped dates and beet tartare and enjoyed our tastes of the hearty clam chowder. Too many great choices on the menu but not to the point of overwhelming. Lettuce wrapped Korean Tacos, Scarlet Burger, Shrimp Risotto and Kale Salad with shrimp were all wonderful. Tried our first olive cake and enjoyed but the perfect end to the meal was the MUST TRY s'more creme brulee. It left us all wanting S'MORE!!! Can't wait to go back and try the other menu items.
The food and service was excellent, as usual. Great neighborhood gem with outdoor patio seating.
Superb! Will be back again!
Our first time there . Loved the food and the service was friendly and great. We will be definitely back.
Wonderful staff and delicious entrees. The Scarlet team went out of their way to make us feel welcome and safe while dining. A very nice patio, with live music (just a touch loud). The menu has unique and familiar, and all of it prepared beautifully. A real treat.
Scarlet is a triple threat - fantastic food, amazing wine + cocktail menu, and a great ambiance that includes live music on the patio most nights.
We enjoyed celebrating a birthday dinner together. The food and service was excellent, as always.
Hands down one of the best new restaurants to open in South OC!
Amazing drinks! Friendly staff! Devil Eggs, Shrimp Cocktail and Bacon Wrapped Dates are amazing bites to share!🙌
Always enjoy our time & the food at Scarlet's! Paige & Matt are amazing!
I have been here 3 times in 2 weeks. I am very impressed with their menu variety. The owners, Matt, Maitre D, and his wife Paige, the chef are extremely friendly and visible.
They have music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday which is very pleasant. The outdoor patio is very nice which is good since we can't eat inside now.
Delicious!!! The ambiance on the patio is fantastic, especially when there’s live music!!! The staff is always kind and they work hard to make the dining experience enjoyable!
Pricey restaurant. Ambiance was amazing though
Great service; excellent food; nice ambience.
We love this place!! Best burger ever! And you must try the lobster tacos and the grilled cheese.
Live music on the weekends. Super friendly staff.
Scarlet Kitchen was absolutely amazing! My hubby and I wanted to check out somewhere new and somewhere with music and I came across this recommendation on a FB group. It was definitely a beautiful evening and everything about Scarlet Kitchen was superb.
I love this place! Live music and the food and service are excellent. Their patio is lovely.
It was a friends birthday which I put in the reservation but they forgot. Otherwise great meal.
The place is just amazing. Owners and staff so accommodating and the food is extremely good.
Very nice, casual dining. A great job of table placements during C-19
Loved the nice ambience, lovely patio area and seating, exceptional bartender and wait staff!! Food was very good, lots of different choices, drinks were fabulous!! Overall great time!!!!
Incredible food and service
The menu is great...very different from any nearby restaurants.
Great ambience, good food. Definitely coming back! I love outdoor sitting area I hope they keep it after Virus disappears. Nice view on great landscape
The servers’ masks are what threw me off. They don’t fully cover the servers’ mouth and nose so i felt uncomfortable about that as it didn’t feel safe. Everything was great - live music was amazing, ambience was lovely, and food was delicious, except the safety was concerning honestly. I don’t think i’ll be going back during covid because of the safety reason alone.
Great food, nice outdoor setting, and fun atmosphere!
We love this local restaurant. Nice variety of food with quality ingredients and attention to detail. Decent service, but with a little room for improvement.
Lower marks for value: I ordered the s’mores brownie for dessert ahead of seeing the price. A big plate with a tiny brownie arrived, with a nice torched marshmallow on top. My wife and I took guesses at the price before the check came. I said $6, she said $10. Actual price: $12 plus tax.
Same for the hamburger. It was an okay burger with fries (too much aioli and too juicy for my taste), but not quite worth $19. Maybe $15, max.
Cocktails were really good, in the $14-$15 price range.
Total for the two of us was exactly $100 plus tax and tip.
It was a great experience we are going back again and will take some friends
