Absolutely lovely - a little more upscale than I realized but fine in casual attire. The manager was awesome. We had a relatively new server, she was a times slow while very helpful at requests. Not as proactive as I would have liked. The food was worth it. My family and I enjoyed amazing dishes. I loved the egg white fritatta and the specialty mimosas were delightful.
Awesome! We are having my nieces shower here next month and came here to try the food! Very impressive 💜
Great food and good cost. Our waitress was overworked and appeared stressed. I had to ask for more coffee when my cup was clearly empty for a while. Despite our waitress being stressed the whole time, I still would highly recommend Scape for brunch.
Food was OK—definitely not worth the $ we paid. Service was slow and waiter seemed preoccupied. Bread basket didn’t arrive until the entrees were brought out. Not sure we’ll be going back because we didn’t find that the food or experience was worth it.
Cant wait to come back for another steak and wine.
Each dish was beautifully presented, ample sized & delicious. The Tuna Poke, Crispy Calamari, Beef Short Rib, Norwegian Salmon, Dark chocolate torte & Banana cream pie. I can hardly wait to return!
Going to the Fox and needed quick service. We were accommodated with not only quick but very friendly and professional service. One of my favorite places! Love the patio when the weather permits.
Yummy food. Great energy. Attentive staff. Will definitely return.
I had the chicken and waffles and thought it was very good. I was hoping to have bottomless mimosas but the price was a bit extravagant for this occasion. The service and environment was great as well. Would definitely come back and recommend to a friend.
Good food. But WAY too expensive. 60 bucks per person??? Why? Most extensive meal I ever paid for and we eat out all the time. Got a date at Cafe Madeleine for Father's Day. Something like $27 a piece. Half the price and food twice as good. Live and learn. You should be ashamed of yourself.
The food and drinks were great.
Although we had a reservation, they sat us at a bar top table by the front door and hostess stand. The restaurant was empty but they said the other tables were booked (they will mostly empty when we left 90mins later). The delicious food made up for the uncomfortable seating
Most enjoyable Sunday Brunch. Always first class. Service was great. The staff are friendly and attentive. Beautiful setting, lovely decor.
I made a brunch reservation and indicated it was a special birthday celebration. I expected some type of acknowledgement or special treatment. Nothing. The service was average. Menu was unremarkable and food was just ok. The celebration was not made special.Scape is a beautiful restaurant in a great location. Seems to be missing something to make it special. I have heard about recent staff turnover perhaps that’s the problem. Hope Scape gets its mojo back. Would hate to see it close.
Food was very mediocre. Probably our last trip to Scape.
The California Benedict with crab and avocado is excellent. Scape is a great restaurant for a weekend brunch.
We had a reservation for Sunday Brunch and were seated on time. The ambiance is very nice and our server did a nice job. The issue was with the food. My wife had the spinach and goat cheese omelette with Scapes breakfast potatoes and toast. The omelette was very good and we think the breakfast potatoes are amongst the best.
The issue was with what I ordered, the California eggs Benedict which was supposed to be lump crab with avocado along with the poached eggs, English muffin and hollandaise sauce. Terrible! First I preface by saying we lived for 17 years in VA and ate blue crab from the Chesapeake bay all of the time.
The crab for this dish was so grated that there was no taste and the avocado turned out to be a couple shreds only. Sauce was good and the eggs fixed properly. Plus those potatoes were also served. After ordering your beverage they bring to the table what looks like a stuffed doughnut hole in powder sugar. Today it was a blueberry sauce and these are very good.
We will return but I need to do a better job ordering.
The first time we went to Scape, the food was good, but the service was not. I was hoping we would have a better experience this time. It was just okay. There are several great restaurants in the CWE. Unfortunately, this is not our top pick.
Great meal with Italian colleague. Good quiet space for great food and important conversation
I normally have a great experience at Scape however this time the service was not good. The waiter was not attentive at at. I’ve never had a server not check on their table after the food has been delivered to make sure everyone had everything and ask if the food was ok. We waited on our water to be replenished, we waited forever for our bill then, then we waited to pay. Then there was an up charge on item which was not disclosed or on the menu. I’ve visited this location many times and never had service like this, not sure what was going on on 2/18/18 but it was a bad experience. I just hate it was someone in my party 1st time visiting Scape.
exceptional quality and service---guaranteed fantastic meal since very consistent---service impeccable---one of the top 10 restaurants in saint Louis
Brunch was fabulous! First time there but will definitely return!
This used to be our favorite brunch spot. The crepe wasn't really a traditional crepe but rather seemed to be made with a kind of filo dough. The chicken and chorizo burrito lacked the prior flavor it used to have. The iced tea was the murkiest, cloudiest, most bitter we have ever had.
My wife and I went to Scape to celebrate Valentines day. We had a gift certificate, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience with or without the certificate. We shared an oyster appetizer which was wonderful. She had salmon, while I enjoyed boulliabase. Both were excellent as was the wine we shared.
The server was attentive without being overbearing.
We both loved our evening!
Food and service outstanding. Question on the bill resolved.
Extremely poor customer service. There were multiple menus floating around with different prices for items. I saw one price for a filet and was charged another (higher) price. Management was no help. He even accused me of lying about the price ($100 meal and a $9 discrepancy). The manager had no regard for customer satisfaction and walked away without resolving anything. I will definitely not be back and plan to tell everyone I know about the poor treatment I received.
Overall a Great Valentines Day! Food was good...drinks were on there way to being good (but maybe could use some assistance) but overall nice. Love our Tuna Poke App...and Lobster Pappardelle was 👌.
Visited on Valentine’s Day.
Restaurant called a couple of day ahead to make sure we were actually going to use our reservation.
Very Nice place. Food was very tasty.
Beet salad, while delicious, was woefully short of beets.
Salmon was fantastic.
Asked for sparkling water, but was told the shipment did not arrive.
Server forgot to bring the desert menu.
Server was very polite.. I liked him.
Overall, a little pricey, but we would go back!
The gentleman at the front table looked likea owner or manager, but did not engage with the patrons. I would have liked that.
Everything we tried was delicious and we really enjoyed it
Visited on several occasions without concerns with service. Made online reservations and invited relatives to join with spouse, Very.....disappointed with server. Slow with orders and incomplete when food arrived.
Would consider again in the future.
This is a sophisticated presence in the Central West End with good food and drink.
Great food for brunch and very reasonably priced. It wasn't loud like a lot of places. We had a nice round table and the conversation was very easy.
The waitress tried but wasn't the most attentive and they weren't all that busy. Plates sat on the table long after we had finished eating.
The staff was excellent! We were seated before we had the chance to tell them we had reservations! The food was really delicious and the bottomless bloody mary bar was awesome!
We went to the Saturday brunch and it was delicious. Everything on the menu sounded great - we are definitely going back!
Excellent food, especially the butternut squash ravioli! Cozy atmosphere and attentive staff!
Wonderful food, wonderful service as always! One of my absolute favorites in St. Louis. There’s always a pleasant atmosphere and the staff is very courteous and attentive.
First visit but won’t be the last. Clayton valet met us as we pulled up and we were seated immediately by the hostess. She took a moment at the table to describe a few of the specialty drink selections. The ones we tried were generously poured and interesting.
Our server, Cobi, was attentive and helpful with suggestions or descriptions when needed. The ahi tuna poke is a MUST! The French onion soup is a shareable size and very rich.
Looking forward to trying Scape for brunch!
Service was spotty at best. Once seated we were waited on quickly but once drinks were served our waiter did not ask us about refills on hot tea or coffee. Water was readily supplied but coffee was refilled once at my request but the additional cream I asked for never materialized.
Good came out in three chunks with much too much time between deliveries. My bring item was the biscuits and gravy that were very short on gravy, not more than a couple of tablespoons. I asked for additional but by the time it came the biscuits were dead cold.
Overall a disappointing visit.
A nice meal for hosting out-of-town business colleagues, bit pricey, good food.
