This is a difficult review to write since we enjoy this restaurant very much. Everything was off tonight. Went in a few minutes before our reservation and got seated, about 15 minutes later. Waiter finally acknowledged us and said he would be with us shortly. Ten minutes later still a no show and then another waitress approached us. Ordered everything right away and then again waited an extended time to get an appetizer and that was only after we asked. We were told that there were several big tables and kitchen was behind, however we watched as another group who had come in after and ordered after got their food. Mushroom soup was really unappealing and tasted like Alfredo sauce with a few mushrooms thrown in. Caprese salad was lack luster and we asked for basalmic dressing three times before we got it. Main courses were okay but initial presentation of the food really did not look appealing. La Toscana pasta dish looked like a hurried mess. Had to ask for water and tea refills multiple times. Overall a poor experience tonight. We will try again, but can be sure that had we been first time guests, we would not return.

Lasagna was clearly microwaved from frozen. We were forgotten about multiple times, had to cancel the appetizer as it never came. Server didnt include any requests we made about any of our food, at all. ( for example, add peas to an entree) and there were more. Other guests got up and left from lack of service. Was a sad and honestly upsetting experience as we always come here for celebrating big milestones, and that will have to change

Wouldn’t know how the food was. We were sat at our table and were never helped after 20+ mins, not even acknowledged by a waiter. A table got sat after us and got helped. Didn’t seem to be staffing issue, as there were plenty of servers standing around talking at one point as well.

The food here is outstanding. This was our second visit to this location and it does not disappoint. I find good Italian food is hard to come by in Colorado. We will be back.

We tried this restaurant for my sister's birthday. When we arrived it was awkward and there was no acknowledgement or greeting. When our waitress arrived she was engaged and told us about the restaurant's history and the menu. I struggle with writing poor reviews, but the food presentation was poor and the decor was like eating in a remodeled Chili's. We were disappointed.

This was my first experience with Scalzotto Italian Restaurant and I would say it was an absolutely horrid experience from start to finish. Although presenting itself as more of a fine dining experience, it was casual dining throughout with overpriced and mediocre offerings. After being sat it took an exceptionally long time for any of the waitstaff to greet us and take our drink orders. My ordered beverage only came out wrong and only after prompting the waitress twice. The appetizers (garlic cheese bread and arancini) were fine, but nothing memorable. When ordering my entrée I had mentioned something on the menu they provided at the restaurant that differed in the description from the online menu I had browsed early. Although the description and price of the FETTUCCINE ALLA FIORENTINA on the menu advertises braised wild boar, the menu online states braised beef is several dollars less. Although I had ordered the item and the waitress had moved on to the next patron I asked to clarify, and she stated it was beef. It was clearing a mistake on the menu, but nothing that was corrected or mentioned. I would have been really upset to receive beef when I was excited to try the wild boar as offered. In light of this, I ordered the osso buco with risotto. Although the menu states these dishes come with a pasta and vegetable side, this is not the case as they consider the risotto both. Waiting for my entrée, I was also underwhelmed by the experience. Entrees took an almost insufferable amount of time to be prepared and come to the table; there were maybe 2 other tables in the entire restaurant so they weren’t terribly busy. Our entrees arrived and the two of us who had ordered the osso buco dig in to find the inside of the shank to be completely frozen. We inform another member of the waitstaff of the issue and she promptly takes the dishes away. As I said, an absolutely horrid experience from start to finish and I will not be returning. You are warned.

We had a reservation and got seated immediately. Our waitress Kelly was very courteous and friendly. She brought our drinks out very quickly. She was very thorough and knowledgeable about the featured dishes. The appetizers and meals were great. The whole experience was nice. I would certainly recommend this restaurant and will come back again.

The portions were good and and the food was well prepared. We all ordered something different - spaghetti bolognese, chicken scallopini, gnocchi, and spinach ravioli. My only criticism is the entrees came out so quickly we didn't have time to finish our salads.

The server was prompt and friendly. My son got a spicy carbonara special that was delicious and spicy. My MIL ordered the regular carbonara and that was also delicious. The four cheese gnocchi was also very good but a smaller portion, it was perfect to not have to take a to go bag, just noting not as large. The cheese garlic bread I personally wouldn't order again. The Italian salad had olives with pits in them. The salad was VERY good, just didn't expect that and made it a little difficult to eat. Overall, great dining experience.

I’m sorry to say that this place was definitely a waste of time. If a restaurant was rated on how fast they could get us in and out this would be 5 stars unfortunately since that’s not the case I had to give it 1. My fiancé got spaghetti and meatballs the meatballs were frozen and cold in the middle. I ordered the Alfredo with shrimp and I didn’t even eat the shrimp due to it tasting like it’s been either sitting out or bad. The noodles where hard and again either over cooked or was reheated. Our drinks took way to long to be refilled. I finished my drink before our food even reached the table and I ate half my meal before she was even at the table to get us new drinks. Lastly there bruschetta wasn’t even bruschetta it was bread with tomatoes and Parmesan cheese there was no mozzarella at all. Do not recommend this place would of preferred McDonald for dinner over that $68.00 so called meal.

The service was terrible. The young waiter, tried to remember our orders for the four of us, had to come back 3 times, to ask what we ordered. My order was over cooked and had the wrong pasta. The food is bland with not much taste. Half way through the meal we notice that all the other tables had bread but ours didn’t. When we asked, the waiter said, “oh yeah “ and the we got the bread. Salad dishes not picked up prior to main course being served. This is our second time here, the first time the service wasn’t that good but we thought we try again, everyone has an off night. Second time was way worse than the first time. They really need to take time and train their people. We feel that the value is good and everyone one Elsinore our group thought the food was good, bet they really need to work on the service.

This is our 4 th time to come and before the food was so good couldn’t wait to eat there again but the food this time was terrible, the chicken piccata was the toughest chicken I have ever eaten. I couldn’t figure it out how can chicken be that tough? And the spaghetti marinara had no flavor. Sadly we won’t be taking friends there again

First time here. Bench seat was uncomfortable and felt like I sunk in. The decor was terrible. Servers were very nice and did well. Food was sub par. If I would have felt like cooking, mine would have been better and less than $150 for 4 of us. My daughters chicken wasn’t cooked all the way through so they did bring her new food.

Overall we had a descent meal, but nothing was outstanding. The limoncello martini was really good, as was the Spaghetti with garlic, oil, and peppers. Stellar. The rest of the meal was okay. The broccolini I got with my meal didn’t even really taste like it had so much as salt on it, so that was disappointing and I didn’t eat more than a bite. Chicken Marsala was pretty good, I ate all of it, but I’d put it in the “it was fine” category personally. Another in our party had the spaghetti carbonara and liked it as well. Decent value for the money, maybe slightly on the higher end of cost.
