Scalini Osteria is a quaint and quiet Italian restaurant where diners can escape the noise and bustle of the city. This hideaway used to be a well-kept secret, but more and more people are discovering its charms since the New York Times called it "the place to be" There is plenty of indoor seating, but when the weather is nice most guests choose to sit outside on Scalini's the two-tiered patio and garden.
Scalini offers regional, progressive cuisine under the watchful eye of Italian owner Angelo Di Rosa, who himself is full Italian. The menu here changes seasonally, giving the kitchen staff an opportunity to play with new ingredients every few months. Some of the items that have appeared at Scalini's in the past include a Sicilian spaghetti with wild fennel, currants and pine nuts as well as bucatini carbonara with smoked pork belly, spring peas and a cracked egg.
