   We live near Healdsburg , which has a treasure trove of great restaurants but we have no problem hopping over to Napa for a great meal and Scala was worth the trip. Meatballs with polenta were outstanding, Ceasar Salad fresh and delicious, Petrale Sole, exceptional and my wife had a ravioli special that was unique and wonderful. Italian donuts , decadent. Service was attentive. We will be back.

   Our meal was absolutely delicious! A big shout out to the warm donuts with cream and chocolate sauce.

   It took a while to get seated (20 minutes past our reservation time), but once that hurdle was over, the service was outstanding. Excellent suggestions for wine and food pairings. Lots of check-ins by waiters and management. Enjoyable meal.

   Fantastic evening. Wonderful food and very prompt and attentive service. Highly recommend the Fruit Crisp for dessert (be sure to save some room). Well worth its 4.9 star average rating.

   Great food. Server was nice but somewhat inattentive. Forgot drinks, didn’t come for awhile when we were done. She was pleasant.

   Food was fantastic. We were a group celebrating our 70th birthdays and they had a card for us all and a special dessert.

    I have dined at Scala a few dozen times and in every combination: by myself at the bar, with a buddy at the bar, with a lady friend at a table, at the pizza oven bar, with a group of people at a table, and no matter where I’ve sat or what I’ve ordered. I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve brought mostly good friends that are in the fine wine and food industry and today I brought a Cordon Bleu trained Chef, and former Restaurateur who agrees; Giovanni is an absolute rockstar when it comes to putting a restaurant together and more importantly, managing it properly and having the food be amazing. The menu is actually quite simple, but elegant. Today was a bit overcast, but it was a Saturday at 1:30 PM and the streets were busy but driving through town, my friend the chef commented how the restaurants were not doing much business and I kind of giggle to myself and thought yeah wait till you see Scala! The food comes out hot, presentation spectacular, the wine by the glass are thoughtfully placed, and oh dear, the pork chop Milanese might just win my award for best all-around entrée in town. But the service, the personality of the wait staff is all service. And that’s what makes a restaurant great; and good food and drink.
