Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar - Oakville Ratings and Reviews
I tool my mother and my wife here for mu mothers birthday. She has worked in the restaurant business for 35 years so finding a place that meets her standards is difficult. She absolutely loved the food and environment so much she will definitely go back and will encourage my dad to try it too!
This is how I imagine all places should operate!
The host at the door was extremely friendly and welcoming. The waitress was knowledgeable, attentive and not overly intrusive. Service was quick and the food was AMAZING!!!! 4 people attended and we all LOVED our meals and tasting each others. The venue is beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!
Food hot and tasty, good value and variety
Tables a bit close together: difficult for servers to get around
Server did not tell about specials that we found upon leaving on a card on the table and forgot the T bag with the hot water.........Not a big deal, but would have liked to hear about the specials before choosing from the menu.
We had a great experience at Scaddabush overall. The only thing was that I had a reservation for a certain time, and they made us wait 10-15 minutes before they were able to sit us. Given that was a busy night, it was OK. Once they sat us at the table, everything was outstanding.
WELL OUR EXPERINCE WASNT AS I EXPECTED THE SERVICE LACKED ATTENTION TO DETAIL FORGOT THE WATER THE FOOD WAS COLD PASTA OVER COOKED COLD PORTION SIZE WAS NOT AS ADVERTISED ALTHOUGH THE FOOD SERVICE WAS QUICK BUT THE QUALITY WAS AWFUL MY WIFE WAS ILL AFTER THE MEAL
Very efficient staff. We were seated quickly, the waitress was very helpful. There was an issue with one of the meals. The manager came to tell us he was not happy with the quality and was having it remade and offered any starter while we waited and that the cost would be taken off our bill. Excellent customer service!
It was not a very pleasant experience. We were visiting this location for the first time. We ordered a desert ‘to go’. We paid the bill and were later informed that the desert wasn’t available. Though the waiter agreed to refund the cost of the desert, the result was a lot of confusion since the system wasn’t set up for partial refunds
Initially our server did a fantastic job but then once the appetizers came out she disappeared. She never came back to refill our drinks/check on our meals and by the time she did we were done. The server who brought our dinner over was asked to get us a refill on due ja but never did. So we never got another drink until our dinner was over and only after waiting until our server came
Back to check on us. It was disappointing! My daughter and I had he carbonara and it was very good but the pasta could have been cooked a little bit more to be considered al dente.
Disappointed.....our mozzarella was not as fresh as one would expect from being made on the spot, also the zucchini fritters were over done as was pasta, the server was friendly and attentive almost to the point of trying to compensate for the quality of the food.
Celebrating our 36th anniversary with dinner and a movie. Thought we would try a different restaurant. It all started with the Caprese Salad we decided to share. It came with wilted arugula and Compari tomatoes...why not use fresh heirloom tomatoes in season! To top it all off they said they make their mozzarella fresh in house so I was expecting delicate slices of moist cheese that would melt in your mouth. Instead we got rubbery chunks of mozzarella! And they charged $15 for that and it wasn't even that big of a portion. Half way through the dinner we had to change booths because a huge spider crawled under our table then disappeared. For my main I ordered the Chicken Parmesan with pesto spaghetti. I couldn't eat the pasta because it was all stuck together. Sent it back and they gave me something similar to penne with the same pesto. Couldn't eat that either as it was "pasty" pasta. They gave my husband his espresso for free because of the trouble and gave us a discount card of some sort to use at another time, which I left behind vowing never to return. They didn't take any money off of my dinner though! They should have not charged me for it. Worst Italian meal I have ever had!! Should have gone to our usual favourite, Trattoria Timone. Only positive thing was that the service was good.
Atmosphere and service were both good. The food was disappointing. Ordered Tomato Fennel soup and Classic Bruschetta for apps. Both were ok. Penne Bolognese and Chicken Parm for main. Again ok but also bland. And Apple Ravioli and Chocolate Ganache Jar cake. The cake was dry and presentation was mediocre. Raviolos looked like camp pies. Very disappointed. Was hoping for some really flavorful food. Might give it one more try......
This is my second visit to Scaddabush in Oakville. It is quickly becoming my favourite restaurant. I absolutely recommend the mozzarella appetizer where they make the mozzarella in-house with tomato jam and focaccia bread. I had the Butternut Squash Ravioli with hazelnut butter cream sauce and fried sage. The first time was amazing. The second time however there was very little sauce and the sauce is what takes it over the top but when I told our terrific waiter Gil, he promptly brought me some additional sauce and made it all better. Will be bringing out of town guests here in a few weeks so they can experience it too. Yum!
Great place. Excellent food. One dinner on childs menu, mac and cheese came with barely anything in the bowl. There were about 15 spiral noodles. We had to flag down waiter to ask for a second dinner for her. Second one had 3x as much in the bowl! Inconsistent and disappointing.
Unfortunately we were overrun with fruit flies for our indoor dining experience. The waiter was very sympathetic as was the manager, but it ruined our meal. No dessert or discount was offered to compensate for our less than ideal experience. We are regular customers and expected better.
This has got to be the worse Scaddabush restaurant I’ve been to this past year. The portions were tiny. The calamari was barely large enough for 2 people and the sharing spaghetti and meatballs was about the size of an individual portion at the other Scaddabush locations I’ve dined at.
Food was tasty but portions are tiny. You’re better off going to one of the other locations.
First time at this location. Nice atmosphere, although can be a bit noisy. Server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the crusted snapper and it was delicious. My husband did not enjoy the pasta or the sauce that accompanied his chicken parmigian. It is still one of our favourite restaurants.
Once again with a reservation you get seated at the worst table in the place and it was mostly empty. We were 2 people and the hostess tried to seat us at a table literally 6 inches from a table of a group of 30 people. We immediately asked to be moved and she complied very nicely but why even try to do that when the restaurant was not busy at all and there were many many tables available with enough staff working??
Mozarella ball was cold as was my meal completely cold my husbands spaghetti and meatball were piping hot I didn't complain because I didn't want to sit there while he ate his and I would have to wait for mine to be heated up.
We generally like Scaddabush but first time at the Oakville one and maybe they need more training?
Glenn was an amazing server. Very attentive, friendly, and entertaining. Food was great. It's awesome that different sized portions are offered in the pasta. Atmosphere was nice. It was busy but still cozy. Love the decor and tableware. Overall a great birthday dinner!
