Excellent for casual dinning or business meal meeting
Had 1:45 reservation, but wasn’t told they closed at 2:30pm. Breakfast closed within 20 minutes from our arrival. Took 15 min to even get a server, and the most food being put away. Hated the place, plus the added a 20% tip for nothing. Wish I could rated it lower.
We came for Christmas dinner with son and his family. Menu was excellent and perfectly prepared dishes. Service was perfect and relaxed dining. We will be back next year. Thanks.
I went there with my family for Christmas lunch; everything was great! Great seafood bar, we loved the cheese station and my mom says it was the most delicious turkey she has ever tried!
Had very difficult time getting response from restaurant to confirm reservation. Christmas brunch was disappointing, stale food items and presentation of food was very low quality. Staff were friendly but unenthusiastic. Dining area was very cold and not very comfortable. Overall disappointing experience, most likely will not return for this event.
We had reservations for Christmas morning but did not realize full brunch buffet would not start for another hour. Ate the breakfast buffet which was pretty typical.
I ordered off the menu and not the buffet, it was surprisingly good for a hotel breakfast
Soothing tasteful ambiance. Excellent and attentive service. Our waiter staff recommended the fish tacos for our too-short business lunch and they were, indeed, delicious and well-prepared. We were at an event at the convention center and were glad to have found a nice quiet place with tasty food where we could have quiet conversation and little break from the pace.
Fresh foods well prepared. Was at the restaurant early for breakfast and received exceptional service and delicious pastries.
Arrived for our lunch reservation to find the restaurant empty and a big sign telling us to go downstairs to the lounge for table service. Poor, slow service. We even saw the waitstaff coming down the escalator carrying trays of food from the restaurant. We were waited on by the hostess. Food was decent, but service was not. She checked on us once and disappeared. We asked another waiter for our bill. He forgot about us. Without a bill, I left a twenty dollar bill on the table and left. The bartender chased me down to collect the additional $3.20 I owed. That eighty cent tip is what you guys deserve. Not eating here ever again.
Sazo's at Marriott Rivercenter was a wonderful place for Mother's Day breakfast with my wife. The buffet was huge, and included made to order omelets! The service was wonderful and we truly enjoyed every bit of the food. Pricing was good for such a nice experience.
We had not been to this hotel in years, when we pulled up to the entrance to valet..there were several staff standing around and not one approached our vehicle. Our family of 5 got out and my husband had to walk over to someone and interrupt their conversation to ask about valet parking. I thought that might be an indication of what was to come at brunch. But it was NOT! We were a few minutes early for our reservation but they were able to to seat us without hesitation. The restaurant was very empty for 1p but it was very well set up and decorated. The service was friendly, inviting and overall excellent! The food was amazing...they still had breakfast items available which was nice considering it was 1pm. Mimosas were strong but a little extra juice made them perfect for my taste! Food was fresh and plentiful. My only suggestion was to have more of a selection when it comes to main entrees. They had a stuffed chicken and lamb. Loved the chicken, not a fan of lamb. But when you have picky eaters, a plain beef or chicken would have been easier for our family. Like I said only a suggestion. Overall our experience was excellent! We are ready to go back again very soon!
We arrived VERY late for our V-Day reservation, and they sat us and got our order in just as the itchen was finishing up. The staff were very good with us even though we were late, and the food was fantastic. It's the restaurant in the Marriott Hotel, and its kinda hard to find when you come from the river taxi. Hint: They tell you its on the second floor, but coming from the river it seems like its on the 3rd.
Reservations not required, restaurant mostly empty at 7:30 PM; did not advertise a Price Fixe menu with no room for changes
dining just the next table over was with regular bar menu; service ok, but we waited a long time between courses. Food served was hot, fish was good but we put a different sauce on it. There is no dietary control on their menu for price fixe. IE, we had to eat lots of fattening things out of our diet. Front counter not helpful with Marriott Points even from a Gold Customer. This restaurant is in the Marriott, I expected much better from them.
If you don't want to venture off and want a good meal and friendly service this is your ticket.
Went here to only find out they had a limited menu because of a large convention. We went there because of the menu we saw online. Really didnt get to experience the restaurant
We had a great brunch! There was 6 of us but one was a 1 year old and got charged the surcharge for parties 6 and over. I don't think that was fair considering the 1 year old. She shouldn't have counted.
It was not what I expected, very disappointing to find out a simple sandwich menu, instead of a great selection of "Latin Cuisine" i will not aste my time there anymore....
Very good service and food, good for business meetings
Nothing to report. You get what you expect for a quick business lunch with a limited menu (soups, hamburgers, salads). Prices are acceptable. No direct access to day light
I was looking forward to eating here because the restaurant looked absolutely beautiful with rhinestone in the floors and walls that glowed. However, I was disappointed right away when they would not seat us at river view because they said it was set up for a banquet and I never saw banquet patrons arrive during the 2 hours we were there. I ordered the enchilada dinner and I like spicy, however the spicy was off-the-wall flaming hot without any indication on the menu that this would be an overload on spice. I thought the food took too long to arrive and the salad entrees are too small, more like a salad side dish. For 2 people and one child with no mixed drinks was more than $60 without the tip. Disappointed and will not return.
We went her for Christmas Day Buffet and I wouldn't go back. They didn't have a big selection of food. The ad in the paper said Turkey and all the trimmings. When we got there and asked about that, they said the Thanksgiving ad had accidently got put in the paper as the Christmas Buffet. They only had chicken breasts and prime rib, not to my liking.
Our family Christmas dinner was less than expected. We have gone to this location over a number of years for family Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter meals however I would not recommend this location for special occasion meals. We had some issues that were eventually resolved by the manager, however, it lessened our dinning expierience to some extent. The special occasion meals provide limited service, lilmited seating, and limited food choices are among the declining issues all at a high price per person. It is a very nice place to have lunch if you are in the area and it is just a walk out to the Rivercenter Mall. One good thing is for the special meals they pay the parking ($15.00) for 2012 while you eat.
Came here twice for breakfast and opted for the buffet. The spread was good enough....and if you were watching your diet, the chefs behind the omelette bar does a fantastic egg white omelette. And there's fresh fruits that you can choose from as well. It caters to everyone's palette - down to the kiddies. And the restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful.
Sazo's is in one of the Marriott Hotels on the Riverwalk. We ended up canceling our reservation because (1) there was an hour or more wait to get food because of 300+ room service orders (I expect this was related to the Marathon & Half Marathon the following morning and that it is not normal for a Saturday night) that backed up the kitchen, and (2) the menu was plain-jane, probably to cater to the hotel crowd, and we didn't see anything compelling enough to make us wait. It didn't help that we had appetizers and drinks a couple hours before and that we weren't very hungry.
It is a hotel restaurant attached to the Marriott Riverfront. When I arrived a few minutes early for my reservation, they told me that they were closing because they didn't have enough diners. So much for that.
My husband and I ate here for lunch and we ordered the Snapper Veracruz and a salad to share. The snapper was excellent and the portion size was large enough for two (if you tend to eat healthy and keep your portion sizes reasonable it is enough for 2) and not too salty. The salad was also very fresh, with hearts of palm and pepitas adding a nice touch. I would definitely order this meal again.
We had a great evening at Sazo's. Found a quiet corner booth (although it was an early dinner, so it wasn't crowded) and enjoyed excellent service from our waiter, Danny. Steak was cooked just right and had a small amount of sauce that gave it a little boost in flavor. It came with creamy mashed potatoes and asparagus. The burger was served on homemade bread with onion rings on top -- none of that got wasted. The chef for whom the burger was named even came out to visit us and make sure we liked it! And the crab salad was excellent, on bibb lettuce with fresh crab, avocado and pico. I didn't even need the salad dressing! All in all, a great relaxing evening with great service and food.
My husband and I had two excellent salads. This is a good place for a quick bite
Food came out warm to cold there were only about 20 people in the place and our server was so slow. We had to keep asking for things probably wont go back.
So so restaurant. The menu was nothing like the description on Open Table and their website is like for a different restaurant. The menu selection was very limited. It's a hotel restaurant, keep that in mind.
The service was outstanding and the food was very good. We were there for New Years Eve and it was a very good location for that event.
I wished there was more to choose from for the New Years Eve dinner package. It was too much food when they main dish came ...I was not hungry, though I could take the desert to go.
We booked this restaurant based on Open Table for New Year's Evening. We didn't realize it was located inside a Marriot hotel and only offered a limited menu, or we most certainly would have booked elsewhere. Our whole experience was disappointing, from the first call to the hostess to get information about parking (which ended up costing us $25 on New Year's Eve--not that we were told to expect it) to the limited menu that evening, which was very pedestrian, and we could have had anyplace. Our waiter actually told us he preferred basic, non-haute cuisine! After eating at Sazo's, I can see why. Poor service, mediocre food, and a horrible location inside a Marriot attached to the mall. BIG MISTAKE. Won't be back.
Restaurant is in the hotel and was totally dead on a Friday night. Food was moderate to fair. Some people hated what they got, but my fajitas were decent. Expensive drinks. Lack of good service. We waited forever for our chips and salsa when no one was there!
Food was bland and over priced.
A pleasant surprise for a hotel restaurant. My wife and I were both tired and just wanted a quick quite dinner. The food was better than expected and the wait staff was attentive but allowed us the dine at our pace.
Fantastic ambiance, you would never know you were in a hotel restaurant attached to a mall. The food was superb. The service was superb. The decor was superb. The food presentation was the only ding, dishes came out a little sloppy, not the expectation established by the rest of the experience, but very easily correctable.
