Therefore SAYOLA comes from the names of the proprietors children: SAndra, YOrett, and LAzaro. Visit us for a unique fine dinning experience.

My overall rating would have been 5 star but our dining experience turned out to be less favorable. Our recent visit was on Father’s Day and we looked forward to revisiting one of our favorite restaurants. First off, the service was excellent and the food was good. When we made the reservation there was no mention of a pricy pre-fixe menu on the website and we were told we could not order from the regular menu after we were given the standard menu and already seated. Our favorites were not included. The soup was mediocre, entrees were good as well as dessert. The restaurant comped us an appetizer and a round of drinks but we left unsatisfied and will not be returning.

The welcome from the door was really disappointing. The Manager was pushing Pre pre-fix menu $80 per person! And that was kind of uncomfortable and left a sour taste

We have been here three times. Food is well prepared. The paella is delicious. Salad was very easily shared.

Best meal I have had in Montclair. We were there for a Sunday brunch. The tortilla espanola is to die for and the garlic chicken and tropical salad were terrific. Service was friendly and responsive and there was even nice live music. We will definitely be back!

I have been eating in Spanish restaurants for decades. This is authentic quality Spanish food. Classic menu with all the favorites with top-notch ingredients and expertly prepared. The tortilla Española and the shrimp in green sauce are consistently delicious. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Beautiful setting. If you like Spanish food, this is a must go.

Dinner for 3. Everything was outstanding. We all split 2 Sayola salads. For entree we all fixated on the Snapper Vizcaina. I couldn’t bear ordering 3 of the same dish and selected the Fideua de Mariscos for my meal. I should have realized after splitting a paella last time, that portion sizing may be greater than one could reasonably handle. Suffice to say, we all took home enough for another full meal. Very tasty meals. I would describe my entree as paella marinara with pasta instead of rice. ‘Pastaella’??? Plenty of seafood in both dishes.

I was visiting family members in the area and decided to try this spot. Great for family gatherings for brunch. It gives you a taste of Spain. The food is tasty, and the service was just marvelous. They had music playing from 12 to 3pm. I want to go back for flamenco night.
