Sayola Montclair Restaurant
The food was amazing and the ambience was excellent. We loved this place and will be back!!
What adds to the great food is the warmth and welcoming staff.
How special is it when the staff knows your names and greets you personally?
Two thumbs up!
Beautiful space but the menu left me uninspired. It’s wasn’t very ‘Spanish’ and the prices were over the top. Mains were $40 -$50 range. I got the chicken and it was no better than diner food. Sauce was over thickened with corn starch so it was gummy. We won’t be back.
The service is superb! Furthermore, second visit was just as great and they remembered us.
Food is superior!
The food is amazing as always, the ambiance is great and the team is professional, attentive and very friendly. We absolutely love Sayola for small and large gatherings.
The food was delicious, and the restaraunt is just beautiful! We will be back.
Good food. Great service. Festive ambience. Pricey.
Huge portion sizes!
Outstanding! Ambiance, Food, and service second to none. One of the best restaurants I have eaten in in years. This place is a winner in every way however noise level as in most restaurants these days is a bit higher than you might enjoy. The noise is well worth the visit to this fine establishment. Put SAYOLA at the top of your list of restaurants to get to!
1st time going to this restaurant and it was great. Great host, great service, food and its presentation, the ambiance, all were terrific. We will be back.
The food is good but I am surprised they do not have wine at all.
Loved the decor and food was good but a bit pricey for a BYOB. One really lovely option is that they offer a wine delivery service!!
Staff is absolutely amazing , Francisco and Priscina are so sweet and super professional .
We love going there !!!
Ambiance is fabulous, captured the Spanish heritage.Food was good and service was excellent. We were really impressed with the place, parking is not a problem and one plus is that BYOB😁🍷👍
Dinner was fantastic. This is my third time here and it didn’t disappoint. Wait staff is attentive and responsive. I love the authenticity of the food and the varied menu choices. Will keep coming back for more!
We have gone there several times and Sayola never disappoints. The staff is wonderful —attentive and accommodating We went for our 3 nephews birthday. We had an toddler with us and they asked what they could bring her to eat . The food quality has always been consistent and the musician helps set the move for a leisurely relaxing afternoon. To top it off they brought dessert with their name written in the plate and s candle while the musician sang and played Happy Birthday Definitely a place for Sunday brunch whether with a group or not.
Great place, service was amazing!!!
A little pricey but excellent!!!!!!
Superb!!! We will go back soon.
Service was excellent. Compliments to their staff.
The squid ink paella was off the charts delicious. Luckily their weekly appetizer special was grilled sardines which were done to perfection. I cannot wait to go back in October!!!
Had a fantastic experience. Loved it
The service is good, the place looks beautiful and the food is not the best but it’s ok for an special night
This restaurant was amazing! Will go again soon. I can’t wait
Beautiful restaurant with a current slant on Spanish food. My only complaint was the $8 sharing charge regardless of the # of appetizers and large dishes that were ordered for a table of 4. (It seemed like a petty add- on). Otherwise it was a lovely and enjoyable dinner!
I absolutely loved it , the staff was amazing, Ana the receptionist and Francisco our waiter were super professional , sweet , kind and nice . Loved the food !! An amazing night out with my husband .
The food was absolutely terrible. The seafood did not taste fresh. This was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in Montclair.
Quiet lunch, the restaurant was not busy at all. We were the only ones reserved, and a deuce walk-in at the end of our meal; around 1:30pm. Tiny tables, advertised tapas but couldn't fit very many dishes to share. The decor and table settings took too much of the table real estate. No alcohol, BYO. Food didn't taste too fresh. Paella was mediocre at best; rice had very little flavor. Calamari didn't feature the whole squid--no tentacles. Seems a bit wasteful. Oxtail entree was chewy, almost dried out, not calling off the bone as a good braised oxtail dish should be.There are things that need refining; it felt more of a themed restaurant than what an authentic Spaniard cuisine restaurant would be. Though what redeemed the restaurant were the smiles and welcoming attitude of the staff.
Enjoyed the brunch. Would like to see the food be a bit more warm (temperature) wise. Offer additional sweet items (danish)
All of our food was delicious and generous portions. Our waitress was excellent. When we walked out, I forgot my sunglasses and someone came running out after me to make sure I didn’t leave them behind. I am very grateful for that! I wouldn’t definitely return here!
Its a nice place in a great neighborhood. We thought it was overpriced. We would rather have smaller reasonable sized portions for reasonable prices. Octopus appetizer was perfectly cooked and had decent favors. The main dishes could have had more seasoning so they fell a little flat and didn’t have much complexity. Service was very good. Don’t forget it is a BYOB.
What an amazing place! From the minute we walked in, people were greeting us, folding our napkins, addressing our sangria, just totally amazing! The food was outstanding, the service was over the top, and the owner was extremely friendly! Can’t wait to go back!
Prompt attentive service! Delicious food! Beautifully appointed restaurant
A great place for a date night in Montclair. Service was attentive; food is not your conventional Spanish-restaurant staples. Sashimi appetizer and pistachio tartufo dessert were shared; my swordfish and my date's sea bass were both excellent. Noise level was low enough for conversation. A bit on the expensive side, but very pleasant experience.
We were the only ones there for lunch. The service was professional and attentive. The menu was a bit misleading as in Spain a "tapa" is seldom more than two mouthfuls. Here the portions were meals unto themselves. So we over ordered and ended up taking food home with us.
Fortunately, the food was perfectly prepared. 😂
We enjoyed a superb evening at Sayola on Saturday night. The interior is a hybrid of old world charm mixed with a modern European aesthetic that beautifully hits just the right balance. Our appetizers, salads and main courses were absolutely delicious - creatively prepared and presented. The service was attentive but not intrusive, and our water glasses were never empty. That it's a BYOB is a plus! Highly recommend this restaurant!
Food was excellent, service was excellent The decor and ambience were also very good. Will definitely be going back.
Quick reservations for 9 with exceptional service from the moment we walked in. Our waiter and all staff provided us with a wonderful experience. The food and sangria (byo alcohol) was fresh and outstanding. Our 2md time there and will return.
The food was amazing. It took a little longer than usual to get our main course, but it wasn't too long, and, more important, it was worth the wait!
We came to Sayola Restaurant and it was one of the best romantic restaurants in New Jersey. We came for our anniversary and could not have chosen a better venue. The food was wonderful, service top-notch, ambiance and decor wonderful and you can tell they care!!!! We already booked a brunch and a dinner reservation. Prasanni was our server and she was wonderful!!! Definitely now one our our favorite spots in NJ!!!
Love this place!! The food is awesome and the service is fantastic. Can't wait to go back.
