Excellent food, very innovative vegetable pairings. Despite active (SantaCon) night, staff found us a quieter table, and never missed a beat. Trust them on the inventive cocktail combinations: delicious.
Half of our party was underwhelmed with the brunch food, the other half enjoyed their entrees, which is disappointing given the price of the meal. The DIY bloody mary bar is a bit overrated, and service was quite slow.
We were visiting NYC from DC and went to Saxon + Parole on a recommendation from a friend. Food and service were great. But we loved the bar. Great ambience. Great bartenders.
Some interesting dishes - cool in concept almost there in experience. Like the Foie Brulee - great idea. Was disappointed to discover it was a cold dish and it lacked a little in the riches I expected from Foie Gras.
Our entrees took ages - and the wait staff did not come to us to let us know why the delays until we started to look around desperately. They did then apologies and sent us a yummy smores dessert on the house to apologies - which did make up for it some. But after all the wait my husband's pork chop was a bit under cooked. I would go back for cocktails but probably not my first choice for food with so many options in the city.
Fined at bar. Incredible cocktails, friendly staff, delicious food.
Kip at the bar was great. We came a bit early for our reservation so he chatted us up about living in Williamsburg and was generally likable.
When we got to our seat all was well. We were greeted by a female waiter (can't remember her name, dark hair, early 40s?) My boss ordered a salad with the dressing on the side. That didn't happen. He let it slide since it wasn't over-dressed. I got the shaved brussels sprout salad.
We put in our food order and waited 45 minutes. When we inquired, because we were waiting a long time, she looked at us surprisedly and said, "I was waiting until you finished your appetizers." My boss and I just looked at each other, then to our salads, but she had left. Another fifteen minutes went by and she again came back and explained she waited until we finished our appetizers to put our order in. That was when we pointed out that they are salads, not appetizers, and that we both would continue to nibble on our salads while eating dinner.
It was a long wait for the food, but the food was excellent. I had the scallops, and probably too many Manhattan 'on top"s.
delicious unusually ingredients that worked well together! Great for foodies. A bit noisy. The computer was having a problem so our drinks took a long time....they apologized and brought us a second one on the house.
Amazing place and delicious food! Beautiful!
This is a great restaurant. From the moment you working until the moment you walk out you are well cared for. We went for Thanksgiving dinner and the food was perfect. I will definitely be going back.
Thanksgiving dinner was memorable. Thank you!
When you advertise $95 per person for a meal I expect to get what I ordered and what was detailed online when I made the reservation. Which is the reason why I made this special reservation at your restaurant (anniversary & thanksgiving dinner). Why do you have the menu online detailing that each entree is $95 per person but when I received the menu in the restaurant there was print that stated that it was going to be $20 extra for the NY steak strip. Couldn’t you have wrote that on the menu on the website as well ? It’s really upsetting when you make a reservation at a restaurant for an anniversary/thanksgiving meal and you’re met with disappointment because it’s nothing like you expected. This was our first time in New York and It was extremely sad for us because we were so excited about this meal and we were celebrating a holiday and our anniversary. It’d be one thing if the food was great but it was mediocre at best and the pies were stale. I also shouldn’t order a drink and have wait twenty minutes for it just for multiple waitresses to tell me “oh I’m sure they’ve got it”. Also when you put a down payment of $25 for a reservation that should be included in the meal end price no? I should’ve walked out happy and excited about my experience but all I walked out with was a $300+ bill and a huge regret. It seems like focus wasn’t really on our experience. Not sure if it had anything to do with the big party downstairs. And it would help if you’re staff was informed about what was available for the day. One didn’t know how many ounces the NY steak was, one didn’t know you had limited drinks available (you promote CBD drinks but none were available today? Really?!)..
Very confusing menu. Settled on a burger and if you like hockey pucks this is the place for you.
It was our anniversary and we got a special dessert.
Food was great, but the drinks were not all that. Too many fancy ingredients made what should have been a good basic drink...a bit weird tasting.
Had a very interesting meal with multiple flavors and all our questions were answered by very attentive staff. Great place if you like to experiment but even if you don’t you’ll have a nice experience. The trout was whole fish and fileted and the scallops tasty. Mushroom appetizer well spiced.
Awesome place with wonderful service. The ambiance and food was incredible.
Poor service. Diluted coffee. Everything took too long. Steak and avocado salad came without avocado. Server never even smiled. Just a total miss. Will never go back.
So good we returned the following day for Sunday brunch. Excellent in all aspects and we wished we had discovered it sooner. Highly recommended. The onion and potato gratin with two cheeses was incredibly delicious - so much that we ordered it again as a side with our brunch. Good wine with both meals and the Sunday Bloody Mary DIY bar was fun.
I hadn't been for a while. It is just as good as I remembered.
Very good service, too.
Excellent hanger steak and aquatic delights! Incredible cocktails! Love S&P!
I’ve had dinner at Saxon+Parole a couple of times, and I was amazed how consistent their foods and service are.
Casual dining at its finest. Great cocktails, delicious cuts of beef. This is a good spot for small groups.
Never disappoints. The BLAT at brunch is amazing as are the deviled eggs.
Great spot! Not too loud and excellent ambience. Impossible burger is delicious too!
Fourth time here and it has never disappointed. The attention to detail is remarkable with everything they serve. Their bone in ribeye is up there with the top steakhouses. We will definitely be coming back here regularly.
Beautiful décor, very lively, good service and yes, noisy. The food was good, not great. I had a steak, good but could have been better quality. Also had the Brussel sprouts, the Shishido peppers. I would recommend the brussel sprouts, the Shishido peppers were ok. The drinks were very good and imaginative.
Great experience dining at the bar with terrific suggestions from the bartender
Never lets me down! Great mixology, a wine list that is just right, beautifully made food, and so approachable. The knowledge Wait staff and team service is great and I never feel over sold. Love this restaurant
Eric, our server, was outstanding! Thank you for making my evening out with my granddaughters a memorable event. And yes, the Manhattan and mushroom mousse pot are still as fantastic as our last visit!
I took my parents here for Brunch and everyone was very happy with their food and cocktails! Highly recommend for brunch, especially on a nice day because you can sit outside.
Amazing cocktail menu. Superb appetizers (hello, mushrooms and truffles!), but the entrees were just “good”. I had high expectation following the cocktails and shareable apps, but the pasta dish was a dud, the pork chop was near tasteless and the scallops were nothing special. The Impossible burger was a tasty surprise though.
Highly recommend for cocktails. Dinner is optional.
Ordered the ricotta gnudie with lobster which was delicious but very rich. Husband ordered the NY strip which he said was we'll seasoned but the bone marrow bernaise put it over the top.
We ate twice in a week at this restaurant. Both times it was marvelous. The next time I will visit New York I will have diner here for sure!
Food was mediocre & drinks were watery. The do-it-yourself Bloody Mary bar was really nothing special. Waiter was nice but the overall restaurant was dated.
Manager was great
The waiter failed to inform us the beer he suggested had a very unusual taste. He did offer to provide us with another cocktail to replace the beer which was very nice. I ordered the duck and it came out completely raw. The restaurant is so dark I couldnt tell at first and ended up eating raw (not rare believe me) duck. My friend got tge chicken and it too was undercooked and had no taste.
After a great experience a while ago, this times brunch was not good at all.
We did not get the food we ordered and the food was not fresh. The food had obviously been under a heat lamp for too long.
