Excellent food. Tastes much better than it sounds in the description. Gourmet level food without the gourmet prices
Great location. Always consistently good! A great option for a relaxing night out!
Amazing! Such good service, can’t wait to go back.
The server was absolutely killin it. I haven't had that good of service in a calendar year. The kitchen was putting out proper dishes on time, but the server really made the night. The ambiance was great, the lighting adjusted as the night got darker. The left no stone unturned.
Keep coming back here and it never disappoints. There are always new items on the menu and are consistently interesting and delicious.
The food is always great but even better than the food was the service from Avery. He made the experience memorable. Will definitely be coming back and hopefully can be served by Avery again.
The food was unique, we loved each item! Everything was delicious. The restaurant buildout is really cool, we sat on the deck, they have a lot of outdoor space as well as a very open interior. Our waitress was really great and knew every detail or their food/drink menu and was able to handle all my questions. Great experience & night out!
Best meal I’ve had in Seattle. Helpful, informed, friendly wait staff. Meal came out quick but we never felt rushed. Outdoor seating was warm even during a cold spring rainstorm!
Not only was Sawyer one of the best restaurants we have eaten at in Seattle, but maybe anywhere in the world. Literally, every dish was amazing. The waiter did a great job of advising how to “balance” the meal, salty and savory, light and heavy. The steak and duck fat potatoes were to die for, the spinach dip incredibly unique for what we expected and the chocolate tacos a great way to close things out. Drinks were great too (cashew old fashioned especially) and we felt incredibly comfortable with COVID precautions (wipe downs, distance from other tables and overall restaurant design with high ceilings). Can’t wait to come back again!
Our service left something to be desired. the food was heavy and not something I wanted to come back for.
Wow!!! Absolutely everything about our evening was extraordinary. Each dish was delicious and uniquely flavored. Our waiter overheard that there was a birthday in our party and brought over a dessert. Then when he realized one person was allergic to an ingredient in the dessert he brought another just for her. Thoughtful service and intensely flavored yet balanced dishes made for a perfect evening.
Top dining experience in Ballard, Seattle!
We were seated on the patio for a 7:15pm reservation. Lucky enough to snag a prime seat with view to sunset.
Service was incredible and friendly, all around!
The food was delicious; lots of original takes and super fresh/seasonal ingredients. Waiter did request if any dietary restrictions, taking into consideration food allergies exist in this world.
10/10 loved our meal and experience and would come back again any time.
Avery took great care of us as always and the food was amazing as always!
Sawyer is awesome! Went for a date and it was a great place with outdoor dining. Very well spaced out. The waiter was great and funny! Definitely will come back.
We arrived for our 8:30pm reservation on time. We were told upon arrival the table we were supposed to be seated at had already paid their bill and would be leaving soon. We sat down and waited patiently for 20 MINUTES. At that point I politely asked the hostess if our table would be ready soon and she very rudely and condescendingly told me the party seated at the table had already paid (which she had already told me upon our arrival) and was finishing their wine and that they had been informed reservations were waiting to be seated. I literally asked her ONCE after waiting 20 mins past my reservation time and she responded as if I had been pestering her every few mins for an update. I found it incredibly unprofessional and inconsiderate considering how patient and understanding my party of 4 had been at that point. What's worse is I think this woman was likely a manager. It left a very sour taste in my mouth about the whole experience. Luckily, our server herself was wonderful and the food was delicious, else I would have left a far worse review.
The most remarkable food I have had in a while. The service was excellent even though the restaurant was busy
I definitely recommend Sawyer to anyone that hasn't been. Everything we got was beyond delicious, however, two words, pork buns. They were the best I have ever had with the perfect meat to bun ratio and had enough crunch with the cucumbers and sauce. We also got the crab hush puppies which were incredible and the animal-style burger which was also top-notch. The ambiance and service were great too. Highly recommend.
The food and cocktails were delicious and the server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The crab hush puppies and pork buns were amazing. We will definitely be back!
I've been here twice, both times there is absolutely nothing I would change.
Seattle restaurant month opportunity to try out places
Sawyer’s menu was eclectic, well balanced flavors, fresh produce, lots of variety
1st visit and I love the grazing type menu which allowed for just right sized portions! Great for sharing
Flavor profiles and textures were beautifully varied
Outside dining was carefully & purposefully designed
The staff was knowledgeable, helpful, fun
Dishes were beautifully presented, artfully sculpted, attention to detail and composition of ingredients coordinated the taste profile of each dish
Exquisitely developed flavors
Family birthday dinner for me 16 year old.
Everything was wonderful! Food, staff, and environment was terrific, thank you!
Delicious food, good cocktails. Our server was delightful as well!
This was our first time at Sawyer and the overall experience was fantastic the food and staff were incredible and they were quick!
We will be back!
It was such an amazing experience. Thank you to our server, Avery for going above and beyond!
Food was great and we will be back!
Food was amazing and service was excellent. Loved the vibe of venue.
Fantastic dinner. Perfect date night.
It was our anniversary. We are regulars here, having date night once a month. We have repeatedly had the grilled artichokes & they are repeatedly amazing. The cocktails scene here is crafty and classy. My husband swears by the steak dish. I like the halibut. Nothing on this menu disappoints. I can eat the quatro leche cake forever - but the dilly bar has many fans. Enjoy!
Our server was amazing, we discussed he was probably the best ever and we would want him at every meal.
The food was also delicious and we are already planning our next visit.
Great food, great service, lovely ambience. Would recommend.
Seattle Restaurant Week menu was very good and fresh. We liked that they brought food out staggered. Our server was the right amount of attentive, with helpful suggestions.
He was very personable, and entertaining.
We tried Sawyer because it was part of Seattle Restaurant Week and ended up going for brunch. It was a lovely experience and the food was so delicious!
If you’re looking for a fun place to take friends from out of town (or grab a nice meal with your partner or friends) this place is a 10/10. It’s a bit pricey, but comparable to other nice restaurants in Ballard. Worth it though!
First meal out in well over a year (due to COVID) and it was outstanding! We sat on the outdoor patio and were very comfortable. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend!
Awesome food. Service was outstanding. Cocktails are unique and delicious. Will be back.
Imaginative and well crafted takes on modern bistro classics. Great service and COVID attentive in spacing and service.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Sawyer, the food was delicious and the service was great. I love that we got the option to stagger the dishes to optimize sharing. Everything we tried was amazing.
My friend and I came to try out their SRW menu for the month of April, and everything was just amazing! Well-plated, well-flavored, and service/timing was also great. For April 2021 SRW, we both got the pork belly buns for appetizers, and then the baja shrimp and huli huli chicken for entrees, and the quatro leches cake and dilly bar for dessert. Everything was delicious and picturesque. Staff took covid precautions, and the space was very comfortable/relaxing. I’d come here again and recommend!
Love this place! First time eating indoors for Sunday brunch and the ambiance was amazing. We finished right before closing and the team was so nice to us on the last call/ exiting. I ordered the steak and eggs, but was not a fan. The waitress asked to box mine to go, and I told her the sun chokes were not good (it was more of a mushroom taste vs type root, and I didn't want to take it) and she said it happens often to people. I had no idea, my own fault, but would have ordered different had it been mentioned. The breakfast potatoes, crunch wrap, and house salad is the go to! Very very good.
Great food and spacious
