Surprisingly pleasant. It was a first time in a while that we found a good brunch option. The food was very tasty and service was on point. Generous serving size is also a plus.
Food was excellent and appreciate all the steps taken to keep customers safe.
Food is always outstanding here. Staff did a great job with maintaining social distancing but also being helpful. Diners were spaced out appropriately per covid distancing and we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal for one of our first trips back to eating indoors. The pork belly buns are always outstanding, and the monkey bread and potatoes are also scrumptious. Ordered way too much and I have a whole meal of huevos rancheros to eat as well. Sawyer is one of my favorite restaurants!
My second time at Sawyer. Pretty satisfied. Very tasty food and drinks and our server was timely and attentive without being overbearing. Will definitely visit again.
Sawyer is a delightful location for brunch. The family-style plate sizes are perfect for a friend or 2!
Sawyer was excellent, as always. Creative dishes, amazing service, and a great setting! Everyone made us feel safe and comfortable from start to finish. We were so happy to be back!
So delicious and made even better by how conscientious the restaurant was to COVID regulations. Food was superb! Best dessert I've ever had!!!!
We had an incredible dining experience at Sawyer. Every dish we ordered was unique and flavorful and the ambience made for the perfect evening. Our waiter was so helpful and wonderful and he made our dining experience a complete joy. Would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone looking for an excellent dinner in Ballard!
My boyfriend & I’s new favorite brunch & dinner spot!
We had a fantastic time! The food was delicious and the service was great.
Father’s Day brunch was incredible
Every dish is a delight, randomly they had a chicken tacito on the menu and it might be the best Mexican I’ve had in Seattle. The pork belly buns are not to be missed. Happy they are open again. Masks are to be worn outside your table.
Great food and service. We always love going to eat at Sawyer.
Our experience at Sawyer was positive. The server was very well versed with the menu. It was a great experience!
This is my first COVID-19 dining experience out. They have a large, open air building with huge windows open and a patio. All servers were wearing masks and gloves. We also paid using our phones.
The food was outstanding. We felt as safe as you could under these circumstances and enjoyed our time very much.
My favorite restaurant in the city! So good. Order everything you can. I tell everyone I meet they need to try Sawyer. Musts are the cheesy bread, pork buns, house salad, udon noodles and the burger. And the porchetta! Oh and of course the dilly bar and choco taco. And don’t forget Sunday brunch! Like I said order everything
The best meal I have in Seattle, constantly. While all of their food is outstanding, the current menu is one of their best. I can’t recommend the spicy tuna with crispy rice enough!
Doing a great job considering the times. I appreciated the masking and distanced tables. Patio is wonderful, and food delicious and creative. I recommend the steam buns, asparagus salad, moo shu, and banh mi.
Everything we ordered tasted amazing. Great service as well.
Very cute, great food, and awesome service. The ambiance is pretty elevated compared to the price you pay. Not cheap, but great value.
We’ve been coming to Sawyer since they opened. Aways a great experience, and we couldn’t wait to return when they reopened for Phase 1.5! They’re doing a great job as usual!
Sawyer never fails to amaze. The pretzel was baked to perfection and the right amount of salty and doughy. The lamb with tzatziki sauce still makes my mouth water.
Great place located right in the heart of Ballard. Fantastic staff and food!
Fantastic food - amazing flavors! The pork steam bread tacos were outstanding, but everything was excellent.
Excellent restaurant! Great food, good service. Highly recommend!
Very slow service at a slow time in the restaurant (took 45 mins to get food and the restaurant was 1/2 empty!)
Only been here for Sunday brunch but the food is super yummy. No other place I’ve been to for brunch in Seattle is as consistently good as this place in every regard. My kids love it too.
Keep doing what you are doing Sawyer, except would be nice if you added Saturday brunch too.
Food was generally good quality and presentation was great. However, some items lacked seasoning and flavor and can be ameliorated through the use of spices or sauces. The service was lacking for a restaurant of this caliber, as our waiter occasionally disappeared and did not check in even as we would have liked to order cocktails or additional items.
One of the best meals that I have had in a while. Each dish was amazing! Loved the tuna crisp, artichokes, the gnocchi, scallops, duck and hands down one of the best burgers that I have ever had. Dilly bar was out of this world amazing end to our meal. Reasonable corkage, attentive staff and a cute space make a Sawyer top of my list. Definitely going back!
AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE. Would highly recommend it. Whatever you do, do not leave without trying the Gnocchi. It is life changing.
Food was very tasty, cocktails were great, and server was very nice. The only thing I wouldn't order again is the wood-fired artichoke. It was well-prepared, but a lot of work to eat. Also, other food came out before we could finish the artichoke. We were celebrating our anniversary, and the restaurant was nice enough to give us dessert on the house, which really added to our positive impression of Sawyer. Restaurant is on the expensive side, so better for special occasions.
First time there. Will be back!!!
We took our family of 4 (9 and 5 year-olds) for my husband’s birthday dinner. I had never heard of Sawyer, but it had great reviews on Open Table so I thought we would give it a shot. There is no kids’ menu, but the food is family style so I figured they would eat something and maybe I wouldn’t waste money on food they didn’t eat. Well, although there is nothing on the menu that says they cater to kids, they more than accommodated my kids including special dog-shaped kid serving dish. The food was delicious. My favorite: pork belly buns, tuna crudo, and the scallops. We will definitely come back. (My kids’ favorite was the plain hamburger- it was delicious and my kids ate the entire thing and it was good size).
Not only was the service efficient but the internal structure and decor of the restaurant is aesthetic. I love how there are booths/cubbys with tall walls to make your dining experience more private. The huge glass windows are a plus with ample natural lighting. The food is delicious! I went for brunch and left very full and happy. I would recommend this place for brunch with friends and family. I think it would be really nice in the summer, too!
Service was incredibly slow with no acknowledgement of the wait time - most dishes took over an hour to come out.
The food is absolutely delicious and so interesting! The combination of ingredients seems odd at times but it really works. Our waiter was fabulous and was very knowledgable about the wines.
Enjoyed the food very much!
Used to be a great restaurant when it opened. Menu has not changed since, and the same things I’ve preferred have got worse. I bet the chef and any good cooks left because the owner would not change menu... it happens... it’s sad...
Really cool place. Beautiful restaurant, spacious, open, high ceilings, big windows. Great food and perfect service. Cannot wait to come back. Funny, I came home and told our daughter about our great experience on Friday night and she went on Saturday night. Keep up the great work Sawyer!
Sawyer was awesome! Everything is family style, lots of tasty, creative flavors. It is a little pricey, but worth it for a special night.
