Highly recommend Sawyer for couples or groups. We had a fantastic experience, everything from the cocktails to the desserts was tasty and interesting.
Our server was amazing I feel imagine and we were definitely welcome and Squared away!! Will definitely come back in recommend to my friends!!!
As a shared food experience, the wait staff is always so good at recommended portions and making sure we don’t order too much. I tried to make a last minute adjustment to our reservation and add two more people, but there was no availability on the app for our time. When we got to the restaurant, as suspected, there was plenty of space for a Sunday night. What gives?
Spectacular. International flavors.
Finally made it to Sawyer for Sunday brunch with my husband and one year old son. Our son had actually fallen asleep in his stroller from strolling around the Ballard Farmer's Market, so we needed to use the elevator to bring his stroller to the restaurant level. The front desk quickly accommodated us, letting us use the elevator. We were also able to request a table away from a larger and loud party while our son slept. Not only was the service top notch, but so was the food! We started off with monkey bread (absolute must have!), followed by salmon avocado toast, pork belly sliders and shrimp and grits. Everything was delicious! Can't go wrong with Sawyer!
This is the spot. If you’re looking to have a delicious and affordable meal with a modern chill vibe, then this is it. The service was impecable. The food is surprisingly upscale and incredibly delicious.
Really great food, awesome location, super service. We originally ordered WAY TOO MUCH, thinking that we were extremely hungry, but our server guided us expertly towards the best choices that would make for a better meal-- and he was exactly right. The ceviche was our favorite savory dish of the night, though the katsu sando, artichokes, and tots were all great... I'd order them all again, but when we go back I'm definitely going to try other things as well!
Food is excellent and outside seating is a plus. Spacing between tables was good, which is important to us given that covid is still present.
One of the most amazing meals I’ve ever had — the pork belly buns are out of this world!
Straight fire. Eat here or you’re making a mistake.
Fantastic food, pleasant atmosphere and amazing service (Avery is one of the best at his job in the city)
Excellent creative homey-american fusion food ! Not too stuffy. Highly Recommended
Wonderful food - cool spot
We had Sunday brunch and it was absolutely incredible. Best brunch I've possibly ever had. The mimosas were champagne heavy, the monkey bread was sweet, and the steam buns are just perfect. I would come here every day for brunch if possible.
Best pork buns we’ve ever had! Exceptional service. Will definitely be coming back.
Not only is the food interesting and super tasty, but the service was fantastic. Our servers David and Avery were both very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the food and cocktails. It is a beautiful space - we will be back!
An absolutely amazing dining experience. Creative menu + excellent service. Best ceviche that I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go again.
Family date with toddler - great service and amazing food.
Great food and great staff! The rotisserie chicken salad is my go to every single time!
Phenomenal meal. Sorry I waited so long to get there.
We were visiting Seattle and had our last meal at Sawyer. It's just around the corner from a hip and bustling part of Seattle. We ate outside and it was low key and relaxed. The food was amazing. From the wood-grilled artichokes to the ceviche to the absolutely delicious cod (you have to order this dish!), the meal was top notch. But the JEWEL in the crown was our server. Avery was warm, sincere, knowledgeable and competent. I think it would have been totally appropriate to hug him when we left - though I restrained myself. So, go eat at Sawyer. And if you see a bespectacled, tattooed and smiling server, ask to sit at one his tables. :)
Very accommodating and friendly to my family with a 1 yr old for brunch. Everything was delicious—cocktails and food.
I love how the overall service was very accommodating, friendly, and professional. Thank you so much.
New favorite restaurant. Must book in advance. Waitstaff wasn’t totally attentive but everything else was perfect.
Outstanding. It was our our first post? Covid adult dinner. Everything was spot on. The Ceviche, Foie Gras and Buns were my favorite. However, the pretzel was boring compared to the rest of the dishes. Server Avery was an added bonus.
My friends and I had the most special dinner here last night! The food was “wow” worthy but on top of that the service was exceptional. Shout out to Avery, who was a total gem and made the dinner that much more fun!! This place is a must-visit when in Ballard.
One of the best restaurants in Seattle hands down! The food and service are 5 star without the price.
Cod and asparagus were to die for!
Our server, Cari, was great. Extremely knowledgeable answering all of our questions about the menu, from wine to beers to the dishes. Perhaps among the best examples of Cari’s skill as a server was to inform us of just the right amount of food to order to allow us room for their desserts. We could have easily over-ordered. A server perhaps less in tune with the menu or more concerned with padding their tip may have allowed that to happen, but not Cari. The food was excellent, and I loved the feeling of airiness invoked by the loft-style interior and great use of space. As an out-of-towner, I thought Sawyer was an exemplary representation of Seattle’s vibrant food scene.
Everything was great- the food as well as the service. Very casual and chic. Will be back.
Always a great surprise. The Korean fajitas were outstanding as was the ceviche. Great service too.
Delicious and fun as usual!
Unbeleivable service and elevated menu for the value!
We had a wonderful dinner at Sawyer. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu.
I highly recommend trying one of their cocktails, and sharing as much food as possible! The ceviche and Korean fajitas were incredible.
The service was great and very quick, and the food was delicious! Our favorites were the brunch potatoes and monkey bread. They even surprised us with a nice anniversary dessert. We will definitely be back soon!
The service was amazing but the food was outstanding ! So so happy to have experienced a meal here.
Great food, great service, definitely will repeat!
As always, We had a wonderful experience at Sawyer. The food and drinks were perfection, and the service was very attentive and friendly.
Sawyer has quirky and tasty food. Really love the steam buns, house salad, pretzels, and choco tacos. Service is always good. My one weird complaint is, it just feels like there’s no clear identity. The interior is kinda cold Scandinavian with tall lofted ceilings, but the menu is heavy, carnivalesque and all over the place. The decor doesn’t match the food. In a nut shell it’s not my first Ballard choice. Wish they would either embrace a little weirdness or go fine dining. Pick a lane.
good variety on menu. nice atmosphere. air conditioned.
