Welcome to Sawatdee Saint Paul!

Serving award-winning Thai cuisine since 1983, Sawatdee is home to Thai food, a great daily happy hour, live music, and impeccable service.

When we first opened our doors at 1983, the Sawatdee mission was simple: to take our community on an adventure full of Thai flavors and good times. Many years later, that adventure is still as exciting as ever. Not only have we expanded with more restaurants to share our flavors with more folks, we've added to to the flavors we offer, as well!

Sawatdee Saint Paul was the first Sawatdee which opened in 1983. Located in lowertown, it has been referred to as "the old Sawatdee" since it closed to make way for the new. With a new location on Robert Street in downtown Saint Paul, "the old Sawatdee" is now "the new Sawatdee," offering you a full menu of authentic Thai cuisine that we are famous for plus a full bar.

Thai it. You'll Like it! (c)<

We went here to celebrate my sons birthday.
It was a disappointment.
They did not have record of our Open Table reservation. No problem because we were the only people there at 7:00 Sat.
The server was very friendly. That was the highlight of the evening.
They were out of the signature Tin Whiskers brew .
The one cocktail we ordered just tasted like fruit juice.
The egg rolls were not the usual crispy thin Thai egg rolls we are used to ( at Supatra and Thai Garden)
There was a long wait for food even though we were the only customers.
My seafood combo ( $24) was too spicy and the seafood was not good. There was a hidden shell that cut the back of my throat. I ordered Medium but it was much hotter than the medium fishes ordered by my companions. The 2 scallops were good. The veggies were last prime and dry.
My companions food was OK. Beef was tough but Massaman chicken curry was good.
Many years ago we frequented the Sawatdee in Lowertown . This is not the same.

Great service by Dyami, he was most helpful and kind to everyone in my party! Food was prepared as advertised on the menu, and everything was tasty!

Food and service was great. Our booth needed some maintenance work.
The back padding was loose on the wall and the bench was saggy.

I love the food and all. However, during my experience, we encountered a problem booking through Open table that our reservation wasn't placed. I have not known if I didn't check with them ahead of time. They took care of this right away and we enjoyed every second we was there.
