Sawasdee Thai Elevated
Sawasdee (sah-wah-DEE) is one of the most common words in the Thai language, used both as a greeting and a farewell. Sawasdee Thai Elevated brings authentic Thai cuisine to Long Island in a setting that is warm, inviting and stylish. Join us for a tantalizing taste of Thailand and an unforgettable cultural experience.
Our founders started their journey in the heart of Thailand. Owner John Conrad met his wife Walailak in Thailand, where she was born and raised. John lived and worked in Thailand for five years and adored the experience, and looked for a way to bring an authentic Thai cultural experience back to America.
That’s how Sawasdee was born: as a restaurant that combines authentic Thai cuisine with modern dining. Thai food is all about marrying complexity with harmony, and Sawasdee aims to continue that tradition.
Our sauces are homemade and we proudly utilize fresh, quality ingredients like Niman Ranch Pork and Crescent Farms Duck.

Simply best Thai food on the island
A little disappointed this third visit. My braised short rib Massa man curry was tough. I’ve had this dish before and it was very good in the past. Our appetizer of ribs was also very tough. I hope that they are not cutting corners as far as I’m concerned I will try it again but two strikes and you’re out.
The food was delicious, the service excellent, the decor beautiful! I will be returning.
Food and service was pretty good. I cant wait to go back. Only set back was the appetizer vegetable dumpling was a little soggy. Dinner was however awesome
Every time we go for dinner we find the portions of food going smaller. Especially drunken noodles. And fried rice.
Nice, chic ambiance, but it was very cold in there for a fall evening. Service was friendly but slow (took a while for them to come take our orders, drinks arrived after apps, entrees took a while to come out). It's a new restaurant so perhaps still learning timing and such. The food was good, but nothing spectacular. Felt a bit pricey for what it was. I really enjoyed the Thai Tea Martini though. Maybe they will work out some of the kinks over time. As of now I would only care to go back for the drinks.
Good food, excellent service, friendly & engaging staff. This was the 2nd event dinner (12 people) we had here and I absolutely would come back for a 3rd. The Thai wanton's were amazing.
Exceptional Thai food and a lovely restaurant. Definitely a cut above other Thai restaurants onLong Island.
The food was very good but we were a party of eight people and the different courses did not come out for us together as a group.
Excellent food and friendly service. Nice ambiance!
AMAZING THAI FOOD for the lovers of Thai! It's our second visit, and we will surely be returning! I want to try (almost) everything on the menu :) Thank you for providing such amazing food!
This is a cute restaurant with a great ambiance. I just did not like the pushy waitress who forced us to buy an appetizer which was supposedly "a great hit" at the restaurant, which we personally did not like at all. Prices are a little higher than normal for a thai restaurant, and I don't think it was worth the price.
very nice Thai food, Authentic, Priced well, friendly staff
If you love Thai food, this is Thai Food Elevated! It is surely an upgrade from the smaller Thai food restaurants in the area. Restaurant has wonderful decor for great ambiance for a date night. Also has great bar presence for cocktails.
The atmosphere and food transported us to Thailand. The service was superb and the food was delicious.
Quite a bit more expensive than most Thai restaurants especially our favorite dish of whole snapper but the food, atmosphere and service are very good
Our waitress was attentive and the food was terrific as always!!
Excellent service, celebrated a birthday. Dessert (fried ice cream) was on the house so that was a nice gesture.
Ordered tom yum soup, wings and curry puff as appetizers
Was all delicious.
For entrees, we ordered Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Jumbo Prawns, and green curry with chicken. I was hoping the serving size of the prawns was a bit bigger; only 3 pieces.
Green curry was spicy but lacking salt so made it hard for the flavors to come together.
Ambiance overall was very bright and welcoming and restaurant was clean.
Food was delicious.
Great place for cocktails and spicy food. Lovely decor and great for a date night. Must go and try the thai iced tea!
This was our first visit to Sawasdee. We were two couples - two of us enjoyed our meals the other two - were a little disappointed. The portions were not as generous as in some other Thai restaurants, so there were no doggy bags. My shrimp drunken noodle dish was very good, my partner'spork pad thai had dry tough pork. We all enjoyed the mango salad and the dumplings. The servers were friendly and attentive and the restaurant was pretty. We would definitely give this restaurant another try.
We had a mai tai..which was a little tart for my taste and a coconut rum drink that was so refreshing, which the waitress suggested. It was an excellent suggestion. We both had pad that. The shrimp was delicious and I ate the entire plate. The decor is cool and fresh. If it was a little cooler our we would have eaten outside, which is cute. The waitress was very helpful, if not too attentive. We were chatting too much and i feel like we took too long to order.
Delicious food in a beautiful setting served by a very friendly staff. Interesting menu and drinks. I definitely recommend.
We took my sister to this restaurant for her birthday. It was great experience from the food to the overall ambience. I ordered a traditional pad thai dish but others in my group ordered other dishes with salmon or chicken (heed those spicy warnings in the menu!). Also recommend the fried ice cream...just delish!
Very good thai food, but just as good as several other Thai places I have been to on Long Island, except this place is more expensive. However, the restaurant itself has a very cool, modern, lounge-y feel to it which was different and fun for a girls night out. The cocktail menu was awesome as well- the thai lemonade was excellent. Will definitely be going again for a date night.
We originally made reservations for the main dining room but the bar looked very inviting so we decided to sit there for dinner. It worked out very well because we got to speak to John (the owner) who was bartending that night. We tried three appetizers, BBQ Pork, Steamed Dumplings and Thai Papaya Salad. All were delicious. We asked them to prepare the salad on the spicy side and it was just like you would expect from Thai restaurants in Woodside or Elmhurst (Queens, NY). I was thinking that the name “Thai Elevated” comes into play as some of the entrees are not your run-of-the-mill Long Island Thai restaurant offerings. Maybe more akin to something you might find in Manhattan or Brooklyn. So we ordered with that idea in mind and selected the Salmon Sawasdee and the Sauteed Black Angus Beef. Certainly not the cheapest dishes on the menu but worth it in our opinion. Both were thoughtfully prepared and delicious. We expect this place to be our go-to, sit-down, Thai restaurant in the future. And the specialty cocktails were very good as well. We might soon give their happy hour a try.
Love this restaurant, food is excellent and always consistent. Staff and service are attentive but not intrusive and ambiance is lovely. Highly recommend.
Food was good but portions were very small. Service was ok but servers need better English.
This place is Not for special occasion.
One of the only restaurants whose ever read our requests in the comment section of our reservation. Surprisingly lovely place with excellent service and food.
They seated us immediately and the decor is beautiful. Little pricier than other Thai places I’ve been, but they definitely deliver an “elevated” experience.
My boyfriend took me here this past weekend for my birthday and I must say I was very pleased. The restaurant was warm and welcoming. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was very clean. Food was delicious. Overall a very nice place.
When we walked in we were greeted by a nice trendy ambiance and the smell of good food. However, that quickly faded when we were seated next to the kitchen and all we could smell every time the door opened was the smell of stinky feet. The drinks we ordered had zero alcohol in them, the wait for the food was extraordinarily long and the food was mediocre. Not a great experience.
One of the better restaurants in the culinary wasteland of Long Island.
What a disappointing meal! First, the typical Sate appetizer was flavorful and satisfying. The vegetables Drunken Noodles were similarly good. The salad and our grilled shrimp entre were vile. They were SOAKED in greasy fish oil and the shrimp tasted like it was first boiled in garden hose grade water.
The service was inattentive and the wait for food was beyond acceptable. This place advertises that it’s food is “Elevated”. The only thing elevated here was the bill. Frankly, this place is destined for more reviews like mine.
Amazing Thai! Duck cooked perfect, beautiful Decore, super sweet staff. Ask for level 4 spice "no joke" to get the true taste of Thailand. This place is the real deal.
Another great meal at Sawasdee.
The most consistent good food and service that we’ve ever experienced.
Our go to place in Nassau County 👍🏻
I like Thai food and found this restaurant on line. It was within 3 miles from the hotel. Great ambiance, service and food. I will go back again.
Chicken pad Thai is amazing! I love it here!
We went as a party of six. We decided to try something different. We all loved the place. Food was very good. Never had steak that was like butter. Great flavor. We came from Smithtown and it was worth the drive
