Awesome evening good food good drinks good entertainment
Monday jazz is great. Food and service very good also.
This place is top notch! I will definitely go back. Our waiter Alex was very attentive and professional.
Delicious food with an awesome staff!!
I was excited to try this place, but was bummed when the chef specials that are on the website were not an option. We wanted to try 2 of those and the Brussel sprouts and they were not available. So we order the steak and stuffed seafood. The steak had no flavor and needed a ton of salt and was over cooked (ordered it medium rare and it was more than medium). The truffle fries were crunchy french fries but had no truffle anything on them of if they did we could not taste it. The host was super nice and friendly and our service was good, that was great! But, it was an expensive meal and we were disappointed. I would not go again.
The jazz on Monday nights is outstanding! The food, by and large, is very good. They would benefit greatly by trained wait staff.
Kitchen took forever. Waited over an hour for our meals. Food was good when we got it. Server was also frustrated. Issue was with kitchen. Didn’t make sense because place was not busy.
Benny bennack was fantastic!
What a fun little place! Food was great and service was even better!!
The band was especially great! Wish there was a tip jar for them!
The food the waiter recommended was outstanding!! He was good but the only one so when he was busy we waited a long time for him to take our second drink order. We would definitely go back.
SAVOY Restaurant & Wine bar lived up to our expectations!! Our waiter Lavar was excellent, polite & very knowledgeable about the area when I asked for recommendations, I would definitely give the restaurant & the service Two thumbs up . The ambiance & the vibe is bomb too.
Although the food was very good as was our server, we did not feel welcome at all. For this reason, we will not be back.
Lamb chops were exceptional as was the music! When are you going to have Richie Cole appear in your beautiful restaurant?
Good food and wonderful music!
The service was excellent and the teriyaki salmon, and the lamb is delicious! It's a very relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Amazing food, friendly staff. Everyone was very attentive. Would recommend in a heartbeat!
The food was delicious. Our table of guest has the stuffed salmon, pork chops, and lobster. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. The drinks are reasonably priced too. It was a great evening with out of town friends.
Caesar salad was inedible - lettuce drowned in non-Caesar dressing. Pasta, as well as all vegetables and a filet, were over-cooked. Staff was relatively pleasant and their performance was mediocre. We went to hear Trudy Holler and the Roger Humphries trio. We would never go back to the Savoy for a meal.
I hosted an out-of-State friend to cocktails and dinner. My Perfect Pair martini was exactly that....perfect. Portions of both our appetizer and meal were huge and quite tasty. A nice end of a day of sightseeing Pittsburgh!
Our service was okay to start. The hostess was very kind but our server was on her phone when she was not talking with us. She paid us little attention and was usually missing throughout our dining experience. The food took an exceedingly long time to come out (a bit over an hour) seeing that we were one of two tables in the entire restaurant. They were out of many menu items or the chef “wasn’t making them” that night. My friend and I both ordered a filet but after about 10 minutes our server returned to inform us they only had one filet. I ended up ordering a ribeye instead. As we waited we ordered two gin and tonics (Hendricks Gin). When they arrived we noticed they had a tint of brown. We then noticed the bartender repeatedly attempting to clean out the tonic line at the bar. The g and t’s tasted odd and somewhat dissatisfying. The steaks upon delivery seemed cooked just to our order. My ribeye was seasoned well with an excellent peppercorn flavor, my friends filet however fell quite short. The filet though cooked nicely was smelled very terrible. It smelled similarly to dog food and tasted very odd. Upon further inspection we realized the filet was definitely a spoiled cut. We were extremely displeased but presented it cordially. Neither the chef nor the management ever visited our table after and we even had to track down the server for our checks. Overall I was very displeased with the service and the obvious lack in quality of their food.
It had promise... menu seemed interesting, price point was WAAAY off. Price too high compared to other restaurants with same offerings. The other restaurants taste better for same or less $$. Not a fan of R&B music....maybe that or the prices kept this nice-looking place empty at 7:00 on a Friday night.
There was no notice on full menu not available until placing order.
Nice space between tables for moving without bumping tables nearby.
Very pleasant waiter with great customer service skills and constant smile
We had a great time. Excellent staff, excellent music, fabulous food. We'll be back for sure!!
Nice experience per usual! The service was great, the wine and entree were delish! Definitely recommend the stuffed salmon!
Wonderful Mother’s Day lunch. We’ve been to this restaurant many times, but this was the first time we’d had a buffet meal there. The quality was just as good as the normal menu though, the staff was wonderful and we had a great time. Would thoroughly recommend.
Fun place. Great service. Lamar was top notch. Everyone focused on making our Mother's Day brunch enjoyable.
I parked away from the Savoy and had walked in to meet my friend and mentioned I was parked in lot so nice young man offered to bring my car to the lot (this wasn’t valet) that was the most hospitable gesture and I showed him my appreciation. The dinners’ of salmon for me and lamb chops for my friend, and fried macaroni balls - appetizer was magnificent down to the last morsel. Dinner was beautiful plated and alcoholic beverages topped the meal. Service was superb.
It is always a pleasure to have Alex and Eric. as our bartender and serve to take care of me and my guest(s)...Perfect ending to Easter Monday. Music was good as always.
We were there for Monday Jazz -- great music!
However, we were very disappointed with the food and time it took to be served:
- More than 30 minutes to place order
- Food came more than 50 minutes after placing order
- Lobster was tough, and filet was ordered "medium rare, emphasis on the rare" but came out cooked through and also tough. Asparagus was overcooked and limp
- Asked for manager - he came and promised a replacement plate quickly... 20 minutes later, another plate came. Filet was improved, but lobster and asparagus still not good. Manager took 50% off of charge for dish ($30 to $15), which is appreciated, but it wasn't the value that was disappointing, it was the poor quality.
Excellent place to go and eat. I think you should expand and take the parking lot. Have a Cas[no. Make your sign bigger. Sell Steelers paraphernalia or have a designer fashion outlet .
Make jazz concert for Monday and Thursday.
Savoy isn't what it used to be. Not sure if it was the day we choose or what. We went on a Thursday night during a sports broadcast, which I had no idea was going to happen. It wasn't on the website. The noise level from that killed the ambiance. Additionally the food was different. New cook maybe. Food was ok but not to die for as it was previously.
Love the Savoy on Monday nights! Charles Sanders is the cool, genial jazz singer/host. Mixed feelings about this rave review---don't want it to become over-crowded!
As natives of Pittsburgh, my husband and I return to our home town of Pittsburgh often. Sometimes to celebrate and sometimes to mourn. This visit, we had the opportunity to do both. My fathers birthday is on the 13th of March, our aunts birthday is on the 31st and my husbands grandfathers birthday is on the 22nd. My husbands grandfather will be turning 98 this year. Unfortunately, he isn’t doing so well. He has lung cancer. We pray he gets to see his next birthday.
We knew that we wanted to celebrate at our favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh, though. We made the reservation and got excited. I think my dad checked the menu online like 10 times before we got there!!
Going to the Savoy kept our spirits high that day. The staff was absolutely lovely. The food was aromatic and delicious. The ambiance was classy and inviting. Everywhere I looked around, all I saw and felt was love, especially at our table top of 5.
I sincerely want to take the time to say thank you to the staff for AGAIN making our time there remarkable!! My husband has pictures of the food that we were served. Chef, the way you plated... OUTSTANDING! Our waitress was so kind and helpful. The hostess was very warm and sweet. In the end, the birthday King and Queen wanted to be responsible for the tips! They had a great time!! We had a great time!! Thank you.
It was jazz night, so loud, but that was the plan, and expected. Fantastic food, not had a steak that good since ive lived in Pittsburgh. Very friendly staff. Wonderful experience. It's a little pricey for just a monday night, but so worth it.
The food was amazing!!! They weren’t ready when we got there, they were still setting up the restaurant and the service was slow. Took awhile to get our food and check. I wouldn’t go if you don’t have a long time window. But like before, the food was amazing!!!!
Way over priced for the experience. Out of several items on a Saturday night. Meal was delivered with wrong accompaniments, wine selection was limited, nothing was remarkable about this place.
Great classic restaurant with the perfect balance of attentiveness without rushing you through. Best Veal Chop of my life!
My husband and I went for a Valentine’s Day meal. We LOVED the calamari! He got the stuffed salmon and I got the Teriyaki Salmon. Both were very tasty and we were full. I enjoyed the Perfect Pair and the Good Life Gimlet off the mixed drinks menu. Only downfall was we were too full for dessert and our poor waiter seemed to have the whole restaurant, so as it filled up it was harder to get his attention. But overall great food and great experience!
The experience was wonderful. We loved the atmosphere. The service was very personalized, we were allowed to take our time between courses. My biggest complaint was with the seasoning of the food. The food was too SALTY
