The service was rather poor, although it was friendly. We waited several minutes before we were offered a drink menu, the food took nearly 2 hours to be served, and they were out of dinner bread, (although other tables had it). The food was delicious and the waiter was very friendly, but could use better training in a restaurant setting like Savoy.
This was me and my husbands first visit at Savoy. Our reservation was for 7:00 pm, which I'm assuming is still considered "Dinner" time for most. However, we were advised that several of the menu items were not going to be available. This was VERY DISAPPOINTING since the menu was limited in options, to begin with.
Service was amazing! My food was only a little slow coming out so both my cocktail and my glass of wine were free! So sweet and hospitable.
Overall a disappointing experience relative to expectations. Kitchen had run out of several things including mushrooms for the sautéed spinach we ordered. The bar was out of the Veuve Clicquot that we ordered. The “substitute” was sub par and over priced; should have passed on it or rejected.
Brought my girl friend here for live music, and did not realize it was on another day but still enjoyed the atmosphere. Ordered food, that took a long time to come, but the manager did what a manager is supposed to do. He took care of our bill and even a drink on the house. That goes a long way...We will be back for some live music. Food was great.
The food was excellent and reasonably priced. It was modern and lively! The entire staff couldn't have been nicer!
Good food. Great vibe. This review is of the mother's day brunch. This was my 2nd year in a row that I attended their brunch. The reservations run on time. The servers are fantastic. The food was very good and everyone in my party enjoyed it.
Food was good. Services has gone down hill since 2 years ago. No napkins on table , we had to ask for them and they brought a pile of paper napkins. Waitress did not check on us to see how we were. Ordered 4 omelettes and they got every one of them wrong and they were not good. Disappointed!
Took my wife for mother's day brunch. The food was great. Our server Alex was very nice. Overall it was great.
Food could be better, selection wasn’t that great. I had higher expectations for a place that positions itself as higher end. Service and atmosphere was great,
food not so much. The variety could be better too!!!
Although there weren’t any veggie options on the menu, the chef was very accommodating and made something for us. The sides were great too!
Jazz night is great!
Order special, filet and lobster. Food very tasteful and ample serving. Music good and not too loud.
Worst food ever Dry uncooked poor service Better food at mc donald’s. Will be closed in one year
We were seated for 30 minutes before we got our wine service was extremely slow. Mismanaged. Clearly would have had 2-3 more drinks had service been better. Food was average. The guest at the next table sent her Lobster back because it was not cooked.
Had to wait to get the check; had to wait for the waiter to come back and take it. Just an all around poor experience.
Service was painfully slow; waiter did his absolute best but he was the only one working a busy Friday night ; manager was barking a lot of orders, but never jumped in to help
Expensive. Good steak. Service could be better. Meal can out in pieces over 10 minuets. Hard to get waitress attention with only 10 people in restaurant. Not cool. Busy socializing and having cigarette breaks.
My husband and I celebrated the anniversary of the first time we met, which was at Savoy, with dinner here. It was lovely. The staff was great. We look forward to many years of celebrations.
This restaurant IS the definition of culinary excellence in Pittsburgh! This is a place where you get beautiful food. The appetizers are enticing and enough to share. Entrees are plentiful with plenty of flavor. They even offer exclusive menu items I've never seen before such as the trending "Wagyu" beef served in a few ways. The beautiful atmosphere included artwork, a coat check where you actually HAVE to take your hat off. Excellent customer service greeted us from the moment we walked in until we "rolled" out the door. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family again and again!
This was our 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. We chose the Savoy for its atmosphere and good food. We had a table for 2 however, surprise guests came to share in the occasion and a table for 4 was given us with no fuss. In addition, upon explaining the occasion and the surprise, my wife and I were given complimentary desserts with candles. The maitre d was gracious and polite taking our coats and offering us another table. I watched him as he cleaned the table with grace where we had been seated previously. He was graceful having a professional demeanor. He commented on us keeping secret our celebration and I am certain he alerted management because we were served dessert with candles. The waitress was great sharing in the occasion offering to take photos which she did. I attached the same.
My wife and I + friends had a great time. We have communicated this to others. This was not our first time there but our third and we will return.
Thank you so much
awesome food! Pork chops and chicken Chardonnay highly recommend! Have us free glasses of champagne for the birthday!! Very empty when we were there but it was nice! Definitely a great atmosphere for young people- popular music and cool ambiance
Great live jazz music, nice menu, incredible friendly service and very entertaining host for the live show. Went during a business trip to experience local jazz, turned out to be one of the best things in my trip.
We were seated by the hostess right next to her station and she said "sorry this isn't the best seat in the house". We asked if we could wait for another table to open, she told us nothing would be opening up. There were at least 10 empty tables when we got there. The entire staff was unprofessional with the way they talk to each other in front of customers and our waitress repeated our order to us completely wrong (obviously not paying attention). I had to go to the bar and get our drinks since she never thought them over to us. They also brought out our entrees before my salad came out so when we said I would like my salad first she responded with "ok we will put these back there until your done." The food was good but that was it. We will never be back!
The food and outstanding service from Alex were wonderful as always, Savoy never disappoints!
They went the extra effort and had rose petals on the table!
Our table for 6 was available on time for our reservation. The sub-par service started with only being offered 4 pieces of bread for 6 people and then having to ask multiple times over the next twenty minutes for more. They were out of 2 of 6 entrees ordered and one entree took about 10 minutes more to come out than everyone else's food. We were just about finished eating when my husbands plate came. Food was not anything special, which for the price, we expected much better. We were not offered dessert, so nothing to review here. We won't be back. Much much better options nearby.
Wouldn’t go there again. Food was great but the service was not on par with it. The waiter kept forgetting to bring things I ordered to my table. In the end I paid my bill(via card) and left a tip in cash. The next day I check my bank account and they added money to my bill after it was paid and charged my card.
Exceptional experience! 4 of us had nice bar conversation, and enjoyed recommendations on wine. Our host and servers were high class- warm friendly and as professional as you could want. Quality of food and unique menu options refreshing . Apps and each of our dishes were prepared to perfection.
Great place. My wife wanted a nice spot to celebrate her Birthday. Food is great. We ordered sides, which we could have ordered one for the whole table. The sides were a decent size to share. We came on the night they had jazz which was nice. Older crowd for that night. I was looking on website for things to do for the months to come, nothing coming up. Would like to see a younger crowd. A DJ would be nice.
The service was not the quality that I had expected. The server barely attended our table. It took an hour for a response from a request for a bottle of wine, to refill our water, and take our menu orders.
My boyfriend and I celebrated our 6 month anniversary from the first time that we started dating. And this was our first time there and everything was outstanding, the food was incredible and the atmosphere was glorious. The staff was so friendly and we got free champagne and free dessert for our anniversary and the portions were wonderful he had the stuffed salmon and I had the Chicken Chardonnay and we were full when we walked out of there it was so fresh and definitely good-sized portions. We will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone who made our night so special at Savoy.
Awesome service and something for everyone on the menu! Vary tasty!! We were celebrating my husbands birthday and they were happy to accommodate our 2 year old.
As always, the food and service were impeccable! Highly recommend!
The Rodger Humphries Group is a must see on Thursday nights
The servers Lavar and Alex were excellent. The food came out in a reasonable time and taste delicious.
This was an absolute wonderful experience for myself and a friend of mine. We laughed, shared, talked, and danced in our seats to great music while enjoying a fabulous meal! What was a welcome surprise was the red velvet cake. It was so good I had to share it with my friend who did not order a dessert and claimed she was full.! She took several bites! Lol!
Thank you for a relaxing and refreshing evening. We were very appreciative!
it was our second time at the restaurant and it wasn't that great. Very noisy, and we waited for our server a long time to get our order.
The manager (his name has slipped my mind, perhaps Jerry?) had called us earlier in the day to fine-tune our reservation spot, an effort I appreciated. We went on a Thursday on a dinner date to see the great jazz drummer Roger Humphries, as well as other fine musicians like Lou Stellute, Dwayne Dolphin, Max Leake, and Ron Horton. Enjoyed the Blue Note classics-level set. The hostess kindly offered to take our coats, a gesture largely absent these days. We ordered and liked generous appetizers like calamari and teriyaki salmon along with some glasses of wine. Good drink and wine list. Elegant white-tablecloth tables and vibrant artwork on the walls. Soft lighting. Nice ambience. Professional waiter. Will return.
I love the savoy the atmosphere is always amazing and the food is incredible
Had my friend and I birthday gathering there which was nice e got treated very well and the bill henry band was great. I would def go there with my girlfriends anytime to have some dinner and entertainment. Downstairs is very classy. Savoy is my like an upscale bar not upscale restaurant. I would def go back!
