About Savoy Bar and Grill Albuquerque
Abundant and beautiful California Wine Country in the Northeast Heights. Welcome to “Savoy”! A sun-filled, unpretentious but sophisticated, wine-friendly restaurant. As you walk into the dramatic high-ceiling entryway, you are moved in all directions. To the East you have a frosted view of the tasting room, loaded with fresh flowers and walls of glass-encased wine. To the West you get a glimpse of the lounge bar leading to the vine-covered patio. Light, open and airy with butter-colored walls, dark wood and black & white photography of wine country all come together to create an elegant yet surprisingly comfortable atmosphere in the main dining room. The dark and contemporary edge to the room is offset during the day with an abundance of natural light from large windows and three strategically placed skylights. That oven will be our culinary focal point for the exhibition kitchen, where our guests will see and smell the citrus roasted duckling, the roasted platter of shellfish

Savoy Bar and Grill Albuquerque Ratings and Reviews
It was really great, called ahead to reserved room by the fire place and when we arrived, we were the first ones in that room. My wife really loved the fire place . Or waiter was great and very attentive on our drinks and informed us on the progress of our meal. The food was great and it really made the atmosphere more enjoyable.I would recommend it for any special occasion. We always let the manager know if the waiter was exceptional which w did. I know sometimes that scares the waiter staff but they should be recognized a well when they do there job correctly, instead of hearing they weren't attentive enough. Thank you Savoy for make or anniversary very special.
The caesar salad was very good. I ordered the salmon, which turned out to be slightly over cooked, after I asked for pink in the middle. My date had the bison short ribs with root veggies, which was tough and under cooked, or cooked too quickly. The veggies were inedible--very tough and also under cooked. The waitress was nice and attentive and offered a small prime rib as an alternative. It was fantastic, but the whole substitution thing ruined the evening, my birthday. The wine, from Michael David should have been decanted and it took half a glass to taste right. They comped some truffles for the boxes going home, but a good & expensive restaurant should be doing much better...
Enjoyable evening but two minor things. Kitchen was slow and my prime rib ordered medium to medium well came out mostly rare. Sent it back to be cooked more. Second whenever the "heat" cycled we were treated to a draft of cool air. Fortunately this didn't happen too often.
We arrived early and were seated right away. They were very accommodating when we said we had tickets to Popejoy that evening. The service was excellent and the menu included a variety of dishes including vegetarian. The food was cooked to our liking and was excellent
This was our second time there and the manager remembered our being there several months previously. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
We went for a nice Christmas eve meal...It was wonderful. Food was great...ordered a bottle if wine for the 3 of us. Asked waiter for suggestions and ended up with a nice, respectable bottle. Ordered two appetizers: the goat cheese and calamari...very nice! I had the scallops, yummy. One daughter had the prime rib, tender. The other daughter ordered the filet, perfect. For dessert, we opted for the bee dessert. Very tasty and designed with whimsy. It was a wonderful finish. Our service was perfect. The server was helpful and available.
I will return.
The evening started badly because we were crammed against the wall in their little side room that is always freezing but they were able to move us so that turned out fine. Our server attentive manhattans very nice but then came the entree . We had the seafood special which was baked lobster tail shrimp and scallops with lemon butter sauce smashed redskins and bok choy. Seafood cooked perfectly but everything else tasted of water. There was some inedible sausage too hard to chew but the over all flavor was water. Smashed potatoes had no flavor not even salt pepper same again for bok choy. The lemon butter sauce was almost non existent except at edges of plate . Last year Christmas Eve dinner was exquisite but this year a bland watery disappointment . Cannot say what we will do next year
Food was good but the oddest thing. I ordered the wedge salad and the salmon. I got a wedge salad with a piece of salmon on the plate. My husband ordered the beet salad and the scallops. And he got a beet salad with a couple of scallops on the plate. That has never happened to us in 45+ years of dining out. They would have fixed it but the couple with us were served their entrees at the same time and that would have been awkward. Hence the 1 star on 9service.
Beautiful upscale ambience and great service, but food lacking and prices high
Four of us had dinner at SAVOY BAR & GRILL to celebrate a Bon Voyage occasion, and while the service was outstanding, the food was mediocre and the prices high. We started by sharing 2 appetizers: the crab cakes and the ahi tuna appetizer. The crab cakes were good although a bit dry, while the ahi tuna was outstanding! Then we took advantage of their discount “Sunset Prix Fixe Menu” (offered between 5:00 pm to 6:30pm), and enjoyed several good servings. Our first courses consisted of the Autumn Squash Bisque (really delicious), the Caesar Salad (surprisingly bland), the House Greens Salad (nothing special), and a new Apple-Brussels Sprout-Blue Cheese salad (super yummy). For entrees, we ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon (delicious), the Parmesan Crusted Chicken Carbonara (the pasta and sauce were good, but the chicken was tough and salty), the Prosciutto-Wrapped Scallops (Really Fantastic!), and the Prime Rib (unpleasantly half meat, half fatty gristle). For desserts, we had two of the Pistachio-Cherry Ice Cream Dacquoise (delicious), the Queen Bee (FANTASTIC!), and the Pumpkin-Maple Pecan Pie (served frozen solid, so we had to wait till it softened). On the other hand, service was outstanding! Our server Danial H. was super attentive and responded immediately to our requests, even anticipating refills for our wines. It was a “good” dinner, but the so-so quality of food was not worth the high prices. Ambience is upscale and beautiful – several companies were having their staff Christmas party dinners here tonight. Nice wine and cocktail selections. This place is great for making an impression, not for the food.
Wednesday evening turned out to be a good night for dinner at Savoy. Only three other tables occupied in the main dining room. This meant that the noise level was low. I've been to Savoy on busy evenings and conversation has been next to impossible. We ordered the halibut special, which was perfection. Our server was Carter; he was perfection too.
A mainstay local restaurant with an excellent base menu complimented by daily specials. Not to be missed is the best version of Prime Rib to be consumed on both sides of the Mississippi. Get the horseradish with it but be prepared, the raw "Atomic" version lives up to its name. Very good wine list and excellent well-informed wait-staff. For dining alone full or lighter menu is available at the bar.
We ate dinner here during the balloon fiesta and loved every bite. We started dinner with a dozen oysters. They were wonderful. My husband ordered two more appetizers, crab cakes and ahi tuna. He said they were delicious. Our friend ordered the lemon garlic shrimp with pasta. She ate everything and declared it “amazing.” I ordered a corvina fish special. It was so wonderful I finished it. Dick and Felix ordered and finished the flight of ice cream sandwiches.
Everything was expertly prepared and innovative. The wine list was varied and well-selected. Our server, Carter, was very professional. It was an outstanding dinner.
Celebrating a birthday at Savoy's was extremely enjoyable. The menu is varied enough to accommodate different requirements and tastes but the featured items are just outstanding. The flat iron steak was perfectly cooked and the vegetables that came with it enhanced the flavor. Get the sautéed mushrooms and you have a birthday dinner of note. The prices, while not low, are not outrageous. Very affordable for a special occasion. The service staff was friendly but not intrusive.
The food was excellent - across our table we had fish and meat options. Ambiance is always good. However, I cannot say that it's good for birthdays as I indicated in the reservation that this was a birthday event, and mentioned it several times during dinner with the server present, but there was no candle, no offer of a dessert, nothing.
