Savory Cafe & Provisions
We have enjoyed Savory on prior occasions and each time have been very pleased with the food and presentation. We both ordered the tasting. This being the second night, we were a bit surprised to learn that several items had been switched out due to strong demand. However, we were not disappointed in the substitutions! The shrimp on cauliflower risotto was delicious, creamy with a hint of lobster in the sauce. The crab encrusted halibut was cooked perfectly-crispy outside yet moist and tender inside. The lamb chops were done just the way we like them-rare and finger licking juicy. Top it all off with a warm chocolate cake and fruit, and delicious pairings and what’s not to like.
Excellent meal and service! Dover Sole was delicious.
We had a lovely dinner. The owner came out to check on us. The four of us really enjoyed the evening. Can't wait to go back!
Would highly recommend.
excellent early dining menu, good value. cocktail and wine menu were very customer friendly
This place was a good experience.
Went to a Later lunch on Thursday and was not busy. Service was great. Food was excellent and would recommend for foodies as the tastes were unique and layered. French bread was fresh warm and very tasty
Years ago, in Orlando, we found a French restaurant called La Normandie and enjoyed diming there. It closed; we were saddened. A few years later, we were vacationing on Hilton Head Island and came across a lovely French restaurant - Claude and Uli's. Voila! they had moved here from Orlando. We enjoyed dining with them for many years. They have retired; the restaurant is now Savory Café and Provisions. So few changes - newly decorated - nicely. The food is delicious; the ambiance is soothing; the service is good. We felt right at home and enjoyed our evening.
We have been in Bluffton for 5 years now and this hidden spot is just fabulous. Outstanding service and food. We highly recommend it
Best food in Bluffton...and it's not even close!
Sunday Brunch, Wednesday Wine 50% off, Thursday Burger Night--Savory does it right.
Such a jewel in the crown Of HHI restaurants!! Don’t miss this one. Early Bird menu is a steal at three courses for $22! Chef Pascal does a wonderful job. Staff is attentive but not hovering. Haven’t tried it yet but will be heading to build your own burger some Thursday night. Heard they have a great Bastille Day celebration planned for July. What a treat for us to have a former Four Seasons Exec Chef in our backyard!!
Service very, very slow and only 2 tables with patrons when we were there. Extremely over priced. $ 9.00 for a mimosa and it was bland. Green frittata had absolutely no flavor. Wouldn't think of going back.
Delicious food! Amanda was a gracious server. Highly recommended!
We think Savory is one of the best values in dining in the HHI area. Hope they succeed...
Mother’s Day winner. When you drive up and park, the restaurant seems ok. When you go in, your pleasantly surprised. When you get service, you are impressed. When you eat, your really happy you came. One of the best Mother’s Days ever!
We reserved a table but then decided to eat at the bar. Food was great and we really enjoyed the evening.
I have been to Savory at least 20 times in the first year under Chef Pasquale... His weekly taster menu keeps exceeding my expectations... Savory has become one of my regular places; oh, I eat out 4-5 times a week, so I am putting him with the best of Hilton Head Island...
Our third time there since the new owners took over and it is excellent as always. I'll gratin potatoes or probably the best I've ever had. Everyone in our party of three really liked their meal, and service was prompt but not obtrusive. Go.
If you are into French and other European fare, then Savory Cafe is sure to please! I thoroughly enjoyed my "Sunset Special" 3 course meal: a delicious mushroom/cilantro soup, Salmon en Croute, and Grande Marnier souffle w/ chocolate sauce. My husband also enjoyed his She Crab Soup, Moules and Frites, and Grande Marnier souffle w/ Vanilla Sauce. The chef is from France, a rarity for this region. We each had a 3 course meal w/a bottle of wine for around $100 total.
Food and service were excellent. Our group of 7 had a small private dining room and we were not bothered by noise from other diners, so it was a perfect atmosphere. I will say the prices, especially on apps, salads, and desserts are very pricey. Our group would have ordered some of these items if those items were more reasonably priced. $11 for a piece of cake????
First time visiting Savory Café was perfect. Will not be my last time.
Just a lovely brunch. The croissants were flaky and delicious. The onion soup was spot on. The quiche was light and tasty. Just a lovely brunch. Great service and ambiance
Nice place, nothing special to comment on good or bad. Let's say average.
Menu was not great.i had beef Wellington and it was ok and presentation was poor. Very expensive!
Think u need to advertise and market this lovely restaurant more. Our reservation there proved to be very enjoyable.
It was Restaurant week, so I chose a prie fixe that included wine pairings that for $55 was a steal. I started with a lovely roasted beet salad, always one of my favorites, and this one was excellent. The entree was monkfish, not one of my go-to fish, but this was the best I have ever eaten. Lovely. Finished with a drop dead wonderful apple tart with homemade ice cream. The pairings were a red and a white and were okay, but nothing special. Next time I'll spend the extra money and order wines that deserve to go with such a special meal. As always, the service was attentive and friendly. We will be back soon.
Have heard bad things since Claude and Uli’ sold it. But we wanted to try it again. Many of our friends don’t go there anymore. They miss Claude’s veal dishes as do I, but our dinner was just delicious! My sold shell crab and salad was perfect.
My husband’s beef bourguignon was excellent and for anniversary week it was a great value. Will definitely be back!
Enjoyed the beet salad and escargot. The mushroom ravioli was so tasty. The lemon berry martinis were awesome. Look forward to coming back. Service was very good. Thanks.
We had the special fish which was Sheepshead. Prepared perfectly...came to table piping hot...caper sauce was outstanding. The roasted vegetables were also a great side. Salad dressed perfectly. Can’t wait to go back when we visit Hilton Head again.
A huge improvement over our previous visit. It’s amazing what the conversion to a chef-owned restaurant has made. Two orders of soft shell crab and one of striped bass with lobster sauce were superb. The sauces were flavorful but did not overwhelm the entree. TIP: if you want the soufflé order it when you order dinner.
This is an excellent restaurant and I would recommend it for the food quality and options.
My only recommendation would be to dim the lights. The food and service were fantastic
Hadn't been to Savory in awhile and friends had never been so we met there one night for dinner. Three of us had Beef Bourgogne and one had the filet. The Bourgogne was average; the filet was very good. Service was spotty and the waiter seemed confused at times. Overall a "won't come back again for a long while" evening. Pricy.
We frequently dined in the previous restaurant at this location and were delighted to learn that the quality and standards have been maintained or exceeded by the replacement. Our server was congenial and very helpful with menu selections. The red pea soup was tasty and unique. Our entrees - lamb osso bucco and filet with peppercorn sauce - were excellent. Same with the desserts - chocolate mousse and rice pudding with green tomato jam. Table settings and utensils were classy, without being pretentious. We'll be back.
Three of us had the mussel entire. They tasted bland, and seemed to have been previously prepared , refrigerated and then reheated.
The restaurant was ok but nothing special for the prices. Service was fine; food was ok.
Mussels are my 'go to' whenever I find them on the menu. Very good!
What a joy to rediscover a gem. Formerly Claude and Zulu’s, and resurrected as Savory Cafe & Provision, this space has oodles of charm, cozy, intimate with no pretentious air. The staff want s you to enjoy the food and tries hard t please. The food, in all its splendor, does the heavy lifting. It’s superb. A yummy soup, a succulent salmon, and jasmine rice pudding served in vintage Mason jars. You wanted to linger, not leave. It was so good. With the trip simply off island!!
Had the early dining menu. My wife had the beef bourginon (sp?) and I had the schnitzel. Both were excellent. Very attentive and pleasant service.
Everything was excellent. Early dining can get a little expensive unless you stay with the items not requiring an up charge. It was worth the up charge though!
One of our best dinners yet at Savory! Started with a lovely scallop soufflé hiding a yummy ouster, great presentation, followed by an excellent grilled snapper. My husband chose his favorite, onion soup, which he says they do very well, and the chicken cordon bleu, another of his faves. Our server, John, was excellent, as always. We love the vibe here, casual elegance, but very neighborhood friendly. See you again soon, Savory!
