What a great way to celebrate 21 years of marriage.
The flavor of each course was phenomenal, balanced and gentle. The staff could not be more accommodating and knowledge about wine pairings.
Amazing restaurant with students cooking the food and provide the service. They are supervised by instructors. It was a great experience for this foodie. Plan to visit this restaurant again in the future.
The staff was impeccable, quick, responsive and friendly very much on their game. Their meals are three or four courses and offer a variety of choices. The food was of great quality and the flavor pairings were what you would find in a high end restaurant. Keeping in mind they are students my allotment for errors is greater. Of the dishes I had, the steamed mussels were cooked accurately however the chorizo broth they were bathing in was extremely salty and over powering so much so I wasn’t able to finish the dish. My entree was grilled yellow tail the piece was a little on the small side which was fine considering the amount of courses however it was visibly over cooked. Instead of light and flaky it was extremely stiff. For my final course I ordered the mango pannacota. It was nice and flavorful. My only issue with it was that it was sprinkled with cilantro micro greens. In my opinion it was either a poor choice of pairings as the flavors just didn’t work together or they were mistaking placed on the dish instead of fennel or lemon grass micros. My date had better luck with her meal her steak was cooked perfectly medium rare but unfortunately arrived cold. To sum it up, based on this experience I would say that the prices warrant greater quality control in the kitchen or it needs to be apparent that you are supporting students and the price reflects their education and not great and consistent execution in the kitchen. It is easy to spend $200 on a dinner for two so that’s a choice you have to make for yourself.
Great fun and exciting to see these young students work on their craft! Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Went there for a solo dinner while in San Antonio for a conference. The food was delicious and the server was very sweet. These students have a bright future ahead of them!
Our waiter was very personable and helped with recommendations. His depth of knowledge for the specific dishes left something to be desired though.
The bartender was out so they basically said “don’t order anything off of the menu” and the cocktails we did order were mixed inconsistently. Bourbon selection was weak for a restaurant of this caliber.
First two courses and dessert were very nice, but the main courses of yellowtail and pork belly were dry and hard. We found ourselves waiting quite a while in between courses as well.
I feel like I owe the restaurant another shot, but can’t say that it was anything better than “good” based off of my initial experience v
This restaurant is a GEM! Delicious, inviting, innovative, fresh and charming in every way!
We had an excellent server. She knew the menu well and could make helpful recommendations. The food was not wildly adventurous, but it was well-prepared and creative. I had the Swiss Chicken Cannelloni; my wife had the Queso fresco ravioli in Corn Alfredo sauce. Both were excellent. Had two small pastries for dessert that were delightful. Very fun and worthwhile experience.
We had a wonderful experience at Savor. It was our first visit and we will be returning. Caesar our waiter was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. If he did not know the answer he went and asked. The food was indeed on the upper scale for taste and presentation. Again the entire experience was very pleasurable.
Based on what I read here (that was MISLEADING) I had lunch here today expecting the 3- or 4-course tasting menu to celebrate a dear friend's special birthday. It turns out that is the DINNER menu and at lunch time they only serve a fairly limited cafe / bistro luncheon menu which was fine but I was extremely disappointed in that I went expecting a much different experience.
First time at Savor, celebrating a birthday dinner. Enjoyed every bite of the 4 course dinner. Portions are right sized so you can fully enjoy the meal and service was friendly and informative without being overbearing. We will definitely be back.
The service was very attentive and Justin our waiter was a pleasure to be served by. He was attentive, professional, & friendly . The food was very special. The dining hall is very noise with all the hard services, but the energy level is exciting. Great place to eat and we will be back with friends. It is fun to watch all the students working so hard together.
Any review I could right would not do this place justice. The food, wine pairings and the students cooking and serving it were phenomenal.
Savor CIA was totally worth the wait to get reservations. The menu was innovative; the food was wonderful; and it was so wonderful to see Fabien Jacob again to pair the perfect wines with our meals. We all tried something different - mussels, Hamachi, risotto, gnocchi - everything was wonderful and delicious. One warning though - save room for dessert - chocolate soufflé!
Guests need to remember that this is a student run venue. I think we overwhelmed our server with questions about ingredients and offerings. All in all a good experience.
Good food, nice portions, excellent presentation, wonderful staff.
The whole idea is students cooking is always intriguing. We all did the 3 course meal and the first dish was amazing. The second dish got served to another table so it was a little longer to a wait . However the server brought us bread while waiting. His service was very silent. It was unwelcoming but you could tell he was uncomfortable being a server. The 3rd meal was steak and it was so bland. I was thankful I ordered fries with our meal because it lacked flavoring of salt . The steak was lukewarm. Which was a first for me. Beautiful ambience however I wouldn’t go there again. It’s near experience but that’s about it.
Visiting my daughter and son in law.
It was a true dining experience!! We had an incredible time, everyone was very professional. We arrived 15 minutes early for our 7:00 PM reservation; the manager apologized for the wait and gave us complimentary champagne for our inconvenience, again we were early. This was the start to our very special evening.
Always impressed with the food and service.
Great experience. Amazing food. Beautiful on the inside and such a cool experience. Everyone was really nice. Food was great, drinks were good too.
We had a lovely meal. We did the four course option, and we were both pleased with everything we got. All of the food was flavorful and well prepared The classic cocktails were delicious! Excellent option for date night!
Amazing service. Our table wasn’t ready so they directed us to the bar and covered our first drink. Tables are really close together so not much privacy. Food portions are small and some were unique. I had grilled pork belly and collar for main course and did not care for it’s fatty content. Wish the menu explained the dishes in better detail, for instance “Roasted Winter Squash”. Could have said “Roasted Butternut Squash”
What an amazing experiencing to enjoy the food and interact with the students!
Everything was wonderful, from the cocktails to the service to the food. Some of my favorites were the house made bread, the risotto with golden raisins, and the mango lassi dessert. Can’t wait to return.
We had an incredible time. The staff was wonderful!
The service and food at Savor was superb! Portion sizes were appropriate for either the 3 or 4 course options. Would highly recommend! The restaurant itself is a tad small, tables are close together and not the most comfortable, but you are not going there for ambiance.
Every time we visit San Antonio we make our reservation for Savor. We love going there & enjoy the creative menu! It’s a must see if you go t San Antonio!
Very positive experience. Loved everything but our fish was very over cooked. Our kind server sent it back and second time was much better. There was a manager (maybe) greeting tables and spending time with guests. However he totally overlooked us. Big turn off. Server was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. A wonderful evening for us overall
Went ro brunch at CIA and everything was delicious. Had the bread with jams as a starter - very good. Husband at that pot pie and it was wonderful. I had the chilquilles with fried chicken patty and it was beyond great. Huge portions at great prices. Out total bill - which includes one Bloody Mary - was under $21!
We went to Savor for our Valentine’s Day dinner and it did not disappoint. While it was a bit pricey, we enjoyed every single bite. My favorite dish was the gnocchi. I would eat my weight in that stuff given the chance. Everything was cooked immaculately and plated beautifully. The wine we had was absolutely fantastic and only ran $30 a bottle. Very affordable in my opinion. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something a little special and different from you normal restaurant. It won’t disappoint.
We had a great experience at Savor. Our waitress was delightful, very informed about the food and wines, and very fast. The food itself was DELICIOUS. The gnocchi was lighter than air, and the potato gratin elevated the humble potato to its most magnificent potential. My husband and I are still talking about the potato gratin two days later. I tried port wine for the first time with my desert course, and the pairing of port and chocolate soufflé was a match made in heaven. We are excited to return, and we will bring friends with us when we do. Bravo and Thank You to all the student chefs--we wish you ongoing success in your culinary adventures.

The food was great. My server Tess was great. However, I would have liked to see a more upscale atmosphere.
Great food and service
Food was decent. Waitress lack confidence and was extremely soft spoken. We had a very hard time understanding her. Her knowledge of menu was minimal, and she couldn't give opinions on which dish was better, when asked. Response was, she has never tried their food. If wait staff hasn't tried food, how can they assist their customers?!
I took my friend here for her birthday,Along with some other ladies. We had a fabulous time! The staff was great, the food was great, the restaurant was clean and cozy. The staff even took the time to write “happy birthday” on my friends dessert. I would highly recommend
It was a joy to watch these young people in action and support their efforts. the food was delicious and the service VERY attentive. Our only small issues were: the drinks were weak, a bit more spirit would have been nice for the money. And, just a bit loud.
The restaurant manager was incredible. Super friendly guy and very generous. We'll be back because of him!
Absolutely amazing waiters with the right info for any & all questions regarding the restaurant and cooking. Delicious food in the perfect size.
