The roots of the restaurant date back more than 30 years, when it was first established as Sweetwater’s Cafe on Euclid Avenue in downtown Cleveland by well-known restaurateur Gary Lucarelli. It later moved to a vibrant mall at the downtown Galleria with the name Sweetwater’s Cafe Sausalito. Now, a re-envisioned restaurant resides in a beautiful, contemporary glass-front location along bustling East 9th Street in downtown Cleveland under the name, Sausalito on Ninth.

Went for a Friday evening dinner with friends. All four of us were highly impressed. What a hidden little gem of a restaurant in Kirtland. All aspects of the restaurant were very good, but can’t say enough about the food. Tasty, interesting selections and reasonably priced. The 3-6 PM daily happy hour will also bring us back. Nice job Sausalito!!

Went there for the first time. Started with a nice bottle of red. Mussel appetizer was on the specials and it was very good. My wife had the Lobster role and sweet potatoes fries and she was very pleased. I had the Penni all’s vodka and it was excellent with a generous portion. Service was excellent. Nice little spot and we will be back.

Good service. The chairs were hard. Relatively good food, but it was not mixed like it should have been. the white rice in the bottom was hard to combine appropriately with the other ingredients.

I was able to speak with the chef about my dietary restrictions and had a delicious meal! He was very gracious and checked on me later. The waitress went above and beyond to ensure we were all happy and enjoyed our time ay the restaurant. She was very personable, friendly and was the one to I traduce me to Chef. I will definitely go back!

Well, I really want to like this place. The food is very good and reasonably priced. This was my second visit. First visit right after it opened was not great (primarily service). Nothing about the service changed on my second visit. It just seems very, very disorganized. Our server on this visit introduced herself and said she'd be back for a drink order. About five minutes later our Host? came to the table, introduced himself, and said he'd be serving us tonight. He was very nice and tried very hard to provide good service. Without going into too many details, my conclusion is Sausalito Kirtland needs a professional manager with good experience, training skills, and a bit of old fashion customer service. Everything is disjointed. Every time I had a question about the menu, the server had to go check with the kitchen. OK, enough complaining. The food was very good. My guest's Lobster roll is one of the better ones I've tasted in this area. After finding out my first choice (one of the features) was already out at 7 pm. on a Saturday, I settled for the rib eye steak. It was prepared as ordered and really tasted good. Happy I chose it and it was very reasonably priced. Our server Joe really did his best to improve our initial experience. I'll wait a bit and give this restaurant another try. It really has great potential and the location is unique. Kind of like a hidden gem.

Our entire table was highly disappointed in this choice for dinner. We are all very understanding of the new restaurant life of short staffing and product availability however, our server was absolutely dreadful. We kept on our smile but ultimately seeing every table around us with the other server receiving way more attentive service was hard to swallow. Our server was all over the place but just looked at the table as he passed. Never around when you needed him and drinks took almost 20-25 min to receive. He messed up part of our order and instead of owning the moment he decided to explain how we had to wait for our food to come because his manager was mad at him for his mistake. We wanted to like it. The food wasn’t bad but the experience makes it hard to try it again.

Friendly staff. We were shown to a table right away and ordered wine. Water was served without asking. I ordered the fish and chips which was the special on the menu while my daughter ordered the steak. My fish was exceptional with crusty light batter and not overcooked. The tartar sauce was one of the best I have ever had. My daughters steak was good but nothing special. Good flavor but a little chewy. The rosemary Demi glaze served with it was very good as well as the potatoes and broccolini.

Food was fresh and flavorful. Menu was on the small side but plenty of different options. Service was good. Our party had lobster Mac and cheese, salmon with lobster salad. Big chunks of lobster and so fresh. Fair price too. Steak had good flavor and lobster roll with sweet potato fries so tasty. Doesn’t look like much from the outside. Almost didn’t see it. Go behind kirtlander party center. Enjoyed the anagram and cosmo cocktails. Very good. Highly recommend.

Kelly was our server and she was great. Our drinks and dinners were all very good; I had the mushroom risotto and broccoli which I loved. My husband got the burger and fries which were excellent. The restaurant wasn’t busy, and we hope that changes as people learn about this place. Needs better signage as it is behind kirtland party center. A patio is planned for the future. Go!

A hidden gem in my beloved community of Kirtland, Ohio. In our party of four, we all enjoyed our meals. Reasonable prices and large portions. Will definitely be back. My husband who is extremely picky commented that he would return.

Sausalito provided us a nice quiet dinner on a Saturday. Service was quick and friendly and the menu has different options. When the food arrived, it was hot and we both enjoyed our meals. If you’re in Kirtland or close, I’d give it a try!

We both had very good service and food at Sausalito Kirkland. My penne vodka was better than in Little Italy. My wife was happy with her salmon entree. All this and the prices were way reasonable.

My opinion of the service was not due to the server, but the fact that they are using these digital gadgets to take the orders and that took the server about 5 times as long to look up each drink and food item, when pencil and paper would have been ever so much faster! The good part of those is the fact that they are able to ring up your payment at the table without taking your credit card away. Also I would suggest that the management invest in some cotton towels other than microfiber cloths to wipe up water from the smooth tabletops. Some water was spilled on our table by the server and no matter how many microfiber towels he used, it was still running onto the floor. The food was acceptable, as this is not fancy dining so didn't expect much more than what was on the menu.

Fantastic food but my husband's entree was brought to the table 5 minutes before mine. Waiter seemed like he was a bartender and needed more training. An ambiance upgrade to some light filtering windows treatments would be great.

Pleasantly surprised! First visit to this new restaurant. Very nice portions. Seafood chowder was good. Spinach salad very fresh and nice combination of spinach and other toppings. Lobster roll was a nice mix of fresh lobster and traditional add-ins. Much better than other lobster rolls in the area and a very fair price. Sweet potato fries were crisp and delicious. I'll be back!

Recently opened we decided to give it a try since we live in the neighborhood. I like the ambience and the decor. Since they just opened, they’re still working through some service kinks but that will get better as people are trained. The cocktails poured or a little small serving size could’ve been a little better pour but overall would definitely go there again and see how they continue to improve.
