We dined for breakfast, waited 11 minutes before we were acknowledged or even greeted by a host; and we had a reservation. The food is good but leaves much to be desired.
Food was really good. We went to celebrate my birthday and they brought out a dessert and sang, it was very nice. The only downside was the price for one pancake...$4! It seemed like a lot for one small pancake.
Brunch with my husband as we continued to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.
The food was delicious. The service was not what I’d expect at a Westin restaurant.
Understaffed but servers Betty and Joel did a wonderful job
Some of our parties dishes were good while others complained about lack of flavor...mostly with the salmon.
The food was ok but nothing unique. There is absolutely no ambience... no music, bright lobby lights, and basic decor. We were the only guests there and felt like we were sitting in a cafeteria without music and poor temperature control. The food was good but considering the BASIC service and ambiance I think it’s overpriced. The appetizers came out before any drink. Bar drinks were weak.
Thoroughly enjoyed my time here and the service from Pradip. The lump crab meat in the Chesapeake omelet was great and my husband enjoyed his French toast. This is my second time here and I will revisit whenever I’m in the area.
It was very good. The crab soup could’ve used some more meat and for the price, I was hoping the portions would be a bit bigger. I’d definitely go back however.
Service was courteous, but excessively long wait times between service visits (15+ minutes). The place was not busy at all.
This is my go-to spot at National Harbor. Best kept secret and never overcrowded. Food is always good. Drinks are always good! Happy hour specials!
Service started very good but fell off quickly. Drinks came in glasses slightly bigger than shot glasses. Appetizers with a bit coming out but expect for the shrimp were shareable sized as stated on the menu. Entrees took forever to be delivered. The burger was well done instead of medium and the chicken sandwich was dry. Simple water refills had to be requested. We arrived as 3 clearly separate couples, but our server made the decision on her on to bring 1 check.
My husband’s birthday brunch was a great experience. We had a beautiful view of The National Harbor pier, Ferris wheel, and airplanes getting ready to land at National Airport. The service was good. My only problem was a dead fly on the windowsill and another little gnat flying around, but it’s hard to control that. My Chesapeake (Crab) omelette and home fries were delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. We definitely plan to eat there again!
The restaurant easily accommodated our party of 10. I was very pleased with the location. The service was good and servers were courteous. I think its very important to mention, with a party of 10 people the server was still able to split the bill as we requested with no errors or problems. Many restaurants will not do that. If they do, in my experience, the server usually makes an error somewhere.
Food was delicious. Martha (our Server) was excellent. Awesome view of the Potomac. It was a wonderful morning!
The service was terrible the manager took better care of us than the server
Went after a graduation at the convention center.
So dinner was pretty good, but breakfast was another story. Buffet served on paper plates at a Marriott at National harbor, really? Plastic forks and paper napkins. The bread given to use for toast did not even fit in the toasters, too big. Would not eat in this restaurant again based on breakfast, easiest meal of the day to not ruin was well ruined.
Had breakfast with an out-of-town colleague at Sauciety on a Thursday morning.
Was nearly deserted at 8 AM on a business day.
+ = We got the water-facing table we asked for, but
- = it was pock-marked and not clean. We noted that and the server wiped it but it was still unappetizing.
The food (a crab omelet and a yogurt with fruit) was OK but not exceptional.
We think that our server was in training which would have been fine -- but she sloshed the cream on the table (and didn't clean it up) when she set it down, and we had to wait forever to get a refill on coffee. There wasn't an evident spirit of customer service or an understanding of the desired experience for morning diners.
It was a shame, because the view is quite nice. I wouldn't go there again, however, for any meal.
We decided to do brunch with out-of-town guests, having eaten at Sauciety a number of times since the opening of the hotel. While the food was great, the service this weekend was Abysmal. We were seated promptly with menus in the restaurant. Only about 20% of the tables were occupied ... yet we waited around 20 minutes for someone to approach us to ask about water and other drinks. Trying to get the attention of the waitstaff was difficult - we pretty much felt ignored. After they finally approached us about drinks, the repeated requests for lemon and lime for the drinks were initially ignored - eventually the lemon came; the lime never showed up.
Most of us got the burgers, one had the shrimp and grits - everyone enjoyed their food - the presentations were quite nice. Maybe there But we're going to have to give another thought to bringing our guests to Sauciety for a meal in the future.
Food was not super great, server wasn’t very attentive and some of our dishes came out dirty. My husband had something floating in his coffee which was pretty gross.
First, I would say the service was OK because there were hardly any patrons at 6:30pm on a Sunday, which I should've taken heed to. The view is pretty, right by the water, but tables looked worn and it was very warm inside. Food was absolutely horrible! Lobster mac n cheese had only a few tiny pieces of lobster. Muscles did not taste fresh, were bland and could use more broth. Seafood Di Fraviolo was spicy, but no flavor. Salmon with wheat soba noodles (was not soba noodles, was just wheat spaghetti) was devoid of flavor, broccoli was cold. I would never go to this restaurant again. Ruined my fiancee's birthday outing. It wasn't even worth complaining to host, we paid and left.
Food and restaurant were fine but it took nearly three hours to get food and render the bill. The fact we couldn’t get service negated any positives. Don’t go if you are in a hurry.
The space felt much more like a hotel banquet room than a restaurant, but the menu selection was good and our salads were all tasty. I do wish my salmon on arugula salad had more arugula, it was very small for the price and was over dressed for the amount of greens on the plate.
I would have given it 4.5 stars had they answered there phone the 11 times I called them to confirm my reservations over a three week period. I made my reservations on Open Table, but when we arrived, they had canceled our group reservations for a private part. We were eventually seated at a nice table in the bar, but the entire episode darkened our mood. Good food, beautiful view of the harbor. But, confirm your reservations in advance.
You have to come here at the right time. 6:00 on a Friday is not a good time. The restaurant is open air to the lobby and bar and it was very noisy. Also the restaurant has a full glass wall facing the water which is very nice but at 6:00 the sun is still very bright and there are no shades on the window. The food and service is very good but you bake in the sun while eating.
Below par for Westin fine dining establishment. Menu cheaply printed. Entree prices overpriced for the quality. My filet mignon arrived undercooked; after sending it back it came overcooked. Wine list not updated; first 2 choices not available; server then brought updated list. Fantastic view of sunset.
I ordered a glass of wine. The service was great. I also ordered the Cobb Salad with shrimp and crab - it was excellent. We were seated at the window and were able to watch the boats in the harbor.
The description of the restaurant and the restaurant don’t match. If the name and the idea of dipping sauces attracts you, stay away. There were none on the menu and no word from the server. Sauciety is an average hotel restaurant at best. No chance of being “wowed” here folks.
Slow very slow service, mistake in order, late in coming to bring check.
Had a reservation and they weren’t even ready to seat us or great us. After 15 minutes we ended up walking out and going elsewhere closer to home.
The food was amazing! Our server was great and the manager checked in often with us. This is definitely our new favorite place to eat at in National Harbor!
Great ambience, outstanding sunset views with really good food but I expected bigger portions for the price. Customer service was also outstanding.
The server completely messed up our drink and food order. I waited 45-50minutes before my 1st drink came to the table. She did not know how to separate the bill. We had to wait an additional 30min for the manager to come over and assist her. It was terrible, the waitress had no idea what she was doing
I had the worst service ever! The waitress failed to collect all monies before the party of 25 departed and I was stuck with paying 2 crabcake meals that wasn't mine. The service was extremely slow! I would not make another future reseevation in your establishment.
Great view of the water at National Harbor. Quiet enough for conversation! Great food. Nice GF options.
My son’s 21st BDay was a beautiful experience. Our party of 16 was treated like a private dining experience. All of the servers were so attentive, knowledgeable and friendly.
The food was great and the view was very nice. However, all of that was overshadowed by our waiter who was constantly interrupting us. We felt rushed almost to the point of being unwelcome or harassed.
Did not honor reservation and it was horrible experience
