Sauce had a fire two weeks ago and is closed. You may want to update your records.
One of the best gluten free pizzas we’ve had. Highly recommend the vodka gluten free pie. Servers were accommodating and cheerful. Will definitely return.
the garlic bread was incredible but wasn’t as impressed with the noddles themself!
Dark and downtown, this Italian place didn’t disappoint. Burata was delicious and lasagna was like nonna’s. Pizza looked great but we stuck with homemade pasta. Steak dish was unflattering. Stick to pasta.
The food was too salty, poor service, expensive and the roof was leaking with rain into a light fixture- which is really dangerous/electricity wise/water being a conductor
Met a friend here for Sunday brunch . They have a deal where you receive 2 brunch cocktails and your meal for $20, which I think is great! Good food, but I wouldn't say it was extraordinary. I had the pancetta and pecorino omelette (with the pecorino on the side since pancetta is already salty), and my friend had the mashed pomodoro sandwich. Both were pretty good, so no complaints there! All in all a great place for brunch with friends.
I went for my birthday dinner on a Sat nite, a little later rez @8:45. Atmosphere is perfect for a birthday - the soundtrack was awesome old school hip hop music & we were dancing in our seats. The food was delicious & arrived pretty quickly after we ordered. The only negative was that our table was in a corner & was very tight for 6 ppl but they were too packed to be able to move us.
Love this place! Food is incredible. The atmosphere is the best. Every time I visit NYC (I'm from Va Beach) I come here to eat :) Food came out really quick and is to die for.
good for parties
fun restaurant, definitely pack you in but good time there. very good food. louder, fun environment. good music.
I LOVE SAUCE!
Terrible in terms of noise, decor and vibe. So loud. Blasting 90s rap which is the opposite of authentic Italian vibes
Sauce was great! The burrata was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the specials were intriguing. I ended up trying the butternut squash tortelloni in a brown sugar and sage sauce and it was perfect.
3 of us dined on pizza; sausage, vodka on cauliflower crust and regular cheese. We each enjoyed our pizza but didn’t say it was the all time best. Our service overall was good, we had the attentiveness desired. Ambiance was nice, some great 90s R&B jams playing, not sure if that is the usual or because it was SantaCon.
The food was great, smelled like an Italian grandma's house on a Sunday when you walk in. It wasn't crowded by any means, but it was still extremely loud. Music was turned up and not a good playlist for a week day dinner. It's very dark and seems like a rowdy spot for a large group to go to dinner for. The table we were sat at was a small bistro and we felt cramped even though it wasn't crowded.
Again, GREAT pasta and I would love to try a pizza there sometime. Maybe in the summer when it's a little more open it would be better.
Sauce is one of my favorite restaurants in NY. The food is authentic and delicious Italian. But what's even better is the loud old school hip hop they play all night. It's the best and my 'go-to' with my friends, a date, or showing people from out of town what authentic NY Italian food tastes like.
Food was fantastic, music was on point. Service was bad
Service was friendly and as fast as we wanted it.., our request go an Italian style family serving 3- course pace and was gladly provided. We had great conversation during dinner as background music was truly background and it was easy to hear everyone at the table.
Great place, we’ll definitely go back!
What a rude hostess! She was extremely angry yelling at customers. She was extremely unprofessional and really how come management allows this type of behavior? We came on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and wow... what an unpleasant experience! That women was yelling to everyone "I have work to do! Do not talk to me!" We were sitting behind her and heard all night yelling at customers. Absolutely unacceptable.
Food was ok, waiter was nice and pleasant guy, but people who brought and picked up the food were also extremely angry. No one seemed to want to be there. I think it shows how management doing horrible job in looking at environment of the place. You cannot allow such treatment to customers, especially when we pay decent amount of money. Maybe it is a day before Thanksgiving, but then do not open your place at that day if every employee so angry. Not sure if it was that day only but we'll, it was our experience, and it was not good.
The food and service was overall good, but the black cavatelli pasta was too salty.
Not impressed and def overrate the food did not taste fresh at all. Went on a busy night too so I’d assume it would be fresh but 1000 wasn’t
Sauce is a very special EV venue with terrific food and a great ambiance that is convenient to all of the EV music venues like Rockwood Music Hall and Arlene's Grocery. It is our GO TO spot for food followed by music in the EV!!
Great food. Music was loud and not a 65+ couple cup of tea.
Amazing, classic italian restaurant decor, with east coast hip hop & rap blasting, little to no lighting, and incredible food. We had a great time. It was very loud, our waiter was great, the food was truly phenomenal.
Had a wonderful date night. Fantastic service. Food was phenomenal. Ambience was great as well.
Loved the food and ambiance at Sauce. My husband had a wonderful spaghetti Bolognese with homemade pasta. I had the salmon with arugula salad, which also was delicious. Definitely will be back the next time we're in New York City!
I went to this restaurant with a friend because she had heard amazing things about their pizza. I had to go again the following weekend because it was so good! Plus, the staff is all very nice! I really like this little place.
Not really negative, just not excellent. A couple of pastas and a couple of drinks. Filetto with Penne didn't really evidence any Prosciutto flavor and yet managed to be a little bit drowning in, well, sauce. I guess I should have expected that from a place called Sauce. I'm sure that tourists love their pasta drowning in sauce but I expect a little more sophistication in the LES. To be fair, when the server (clearly a trainee) misheard my drink order she replaced it and let me keep the mistake. So no foul there.
We went for my wife’s birthday. Everything was very nice but the food was not great. Salad was overdressed. Bolognese sauce was a step above cafeteria. It needed garlic, basil, and salt. And my wife’s favorite pasta is bolognese. Really disappointing.
The noise inside was unbearable. I won’t eat here again unless it’s outside. Otherwise it’s a nice place. Good food and drinks.
Food was delicious and the people who work there are really nice. The portions were a little small, you might leave hungry if you don’t order an appetizer.
Very very loud especially in the front. Tables are very small. If you’re over 25 you might not be into this place.
Good service but food was nothing special.
I went to Sauce based on a recommendation for the cauliflower pizza. I've been doing the keto diet for 7 months and have been making cauliflower pizza at home and it's been just fine and scratching the "i need pizza" itch. However, we ordered a couple variations that the waitress (just the perfect amount of nice and attentive) recommended and it was earth shatteringly delicious and I'll be going back as soon as I can.
Great service and excellent food - too many good options to choose from, in fact! Will return for sure
The food was all home made. I feel like I was in Italy, getting the best quality Italian food that I could get. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. But be warned! This restaurant will ruin store bought pasta for you forever. It is just that good.
Very good food on the Lower East side. We shared several appetizers, excellent fried zucchini, butternut squash tortellini and burratta, then chicken parmigiana and Milanese. Delicious tiramisu and brownies.
Small complaints, the first table was squeezed next to a couple, the second was by the restrooms, even though the restaurant was mostly empty when we got there! Finally requested a third corner table that was perfect!
Also, no decaf coffee.
Awesome as always
The food was fantastic! The service was okay. Our hostess gave us the worse table in the house even though I had a reservation made in advance. She had an attitude when I asked to change tables, even though there were other empty tables “being held for other reservations”. But i said “I HAVE a reservation”. We ended up having to wait 15 minutes for a table, and another 1 for our waitress to come by.
Then we ordered a bottle of wine. They brought regular water cups for the wine. We asked foe wine glasses and although the waitress brought them, she said “oh, our wine glasses are only for reserved bottles of wine”. What?!?!? Never heard such nonsense ever.
Cool vibe but really, really, REALLY loud in there. Food was just ok.
