Excellent food in a very nice setting , very friendly staff
Left after an hour with being served only salads. Drinks took 30 minutes. Waiter was wonderful, but the restaurant wasn’t ready for a crowd.
Very comfortable place, easy to have a conversation with my friends, not noisy at all. The service was friendly and prompt. The chicken piccata was well made but not a very flavorful sauce, the capers were all of the flavor. The gelato was wonderful, had white chocolate and raspberry.
Our experience was wonderful! I would highly recommend!
Great old building. Very well appointed room. Upper level bar nice with great city views. Food very good. Overall very nice evening.
The food was fabulous, and we enjoyed the entire luncheon experience.
Waitress provided excellent service! She was nice and attentive.
Excellent food! Everything from the appetizers to the dessert was excellent. And the ambiance and decor were very tastefully, gives a feeling of 1940’s Great Gatsby era. The garlic knots are a must have and the ricotta cheesecake was a perfect ending to a great meal.
Great food. Service is slow. Expect to wait.
My son was in town for the Crim Race so I was looking for a place where he could get some carbs and I could stay safe because my wife is immunocompromised and I didn’t want to bring any viruses home. Sauce with rooftop seating was an ideal choice!
Food was excellent, both appetizing and attractively presented. Service was very attentive and the cost was surprisingly reasonable. Very pleased!
It was a really nice environment, food was great, & service was amazing
The service was exceptional and the food was absolutely amazing! I would definitely come here again!
Fabulous from start to finish. Food was delicious. Our waiter David was excellent and knowledgeable of the menu items. Great experience
The service at Sauce is always slow. They are attentive when you are seated, bring your drink and take your order. Then there is too long a wait. The food is frequently cold or unusually late. The server does not appear during this waiting period. My wife's pizza was cold and my lasagna was just warm enough that I ate it anyway. I think the recipes are good. But the rest needs improvement. We tipped the waitress 18 % anyway.
Great new place in downtown Flint. Great good and great service. Friendly crowd. Check it out…
Welcome to Flint. Our experience was outstanding. I love to see Flint succeed in the various attempts, especially something as clever as a roof-top restaurant. There was some noise, but was to be expected with the wonderful entertainment from the jazz band’s excellent and appropriate performance. The band made a positive contribution to the evening. Was Malachi was an excellent waiter. Food was very good. Would like a little more variety in menu. Price was more than fair. My Makers Mark was exactly as I ordered it. Stopped at restaurant on first floor and immediately asked by the pleasant sous chef if he could help. He showed me a menu and made me feel very welcomed. I told him we will be back, and we WILL! Good luck in your endeavors.
For my birthday meal/first time here, I was looking for something with more of an atmosphere. Granted, it was a Tuesday… but the service was a little slow.
We were very excited to try Sauce. When we first arrived the hostess was wonderful. We ordered cocktails after being seated 3 out of 4 of us received our beverages and the 4th person did not receive theirs until the 3 were done with their drinks. We ordered our dinner it came out at different times. They brought a cup of soup that we had ordered with dinner out after our meals were done and we were boxing up our food. I was really expecting a better experience for an upscale Italian restaurant. Our server blatantly told us that the bar tender got side tracked and that is why our drink did not come out on time. Disappointing.
I had a great experience. I do think that the food was a bit pricey, but I knew what I was getting an appetizer sized plate. The Honey Pecan was excellent and the wife loved it. Everything that I tried was good. I paid for the experience, though. We were not disappointed.
Well this was our second try to this establishment… first trip was in December to Sauce and on Saturday we tried Sizzle! Again, very disappointing! When we arrived they didn’t have my reservation, I showed them on the “Opentable App” and then was seated. When seated the ambiance was very dull, now with the Flint backdrop helps, but this could be again COULD BE a very cool place to frequent, but unfortunately we will NOT be going back.
Drinks are weak, although good, but all taste like juice and iced down. Ordered 3 appetizers and the Pesto Spread came out with 2 crostini and Hailey said “we ran out, but I will go downstairs to grab more” in the meantime I bit into one and it was soft/stale like it’s been sitting out. I had to ask 4 times about them getting new ones and it took 45 minutes, so our spread sat in the 80 degree weather, I asked her to put in fridge and she said yet, but never took it. Then we were never offered water the entire time, drinks never refreshed or asked if we wanted more unless we asked. My bill was around $160 and it was just bad. I want this place to succeed as I believe in Flint, but as my last review about Sauce was they have a very long way to go.
I went downstairs on our way out and the hostess and what I believe to be a manager asked me how everything was and I told them the truth. This gentleman looked shocked and really didn’t do much, I asked for the GM’s card as I think he should know what is going on.
Over all BAD. Do yourself a favor and head to Cork on Saginaw, good, service everything BETTER!
Beautiful new place! Great menu and unique flavorful dishes.
Beautiful, historic building with dining on the rooftop patio, overlooking the city. Food was great, and fast! Service was excellent! Drinks were delish!
Highly recommend ❤️
The food here is fantastic. We had brunch. Highly recommend the American eggs dish, the pancakes, the French toast and the mimosa/burton mimosa. If you’re debating between the toast and English muffin - trust me on the English muffin. Better than you can imagine! Waitstaff is great, too!
Servers seemed overwhelmed. Food was underwhelming. I would go again as a pizza night dinner but not for anything more.
Food was stellar. Server could have been more seasoned. Chef visited our table so we could pay him our compliments. Manager shared the building history with us. Hostess was profoundly welcoming and friendly.
Food was great! And service was great! The ambience is absolutely beautiful
We started with delicious cocktails on the rooftop bar, Sizzle, and then headed down for dinner. Our server was great, and the food and wine reasonably priced. Great to see people out!
It was wonderful
The view was nice, I'd love to see more roof top places in Flint. Food was decent altho room for improvement imo. Cocktail was wonderful and the service was fantastic. I would probably come back for cocktails rather than the food.
The service was horrible. The waitress and bar tender got our drink order wrong twice. The table behind us and next to us also returned their drinks because they were not correct. The food is average at best and over priced. There are plenty of other dining and drinking options in downtown Flint, you will have a much better experience if you choose one of them.
My first visit to The Sauce was pleasant. I loved the ambience. It's a nice place to meet after work or either on a date. It was clean and I felt comfortable with the spacing of the tables being that it is still a global pandemic going on.
I wish the menu would have included something with a white sauce rather an just red sauce. Since there was no alfredo on the menu I opted for the pizza which was good. My sister ordered one as well but it was big enough that we could have split and both been full.
My waitress was very pleasant and attentive at first but we (group of friends) were there for a while and her presence seemed to fade. A manager did come around and ask how we were doing which I always like when I go out.
Overall, it was a good experience and I will probably go back so that my husband can check it out as well and also to check out the roof top.
What a great birthday experience with great friends!
The staff was and is always super friendly. The food is fantastic. We love this place!
This place has great food and the best charcuterie tray in Greater Flint.
Excellent service. The pizza isn’t ideal. But the salmon was decent.
Another hidden gem in downtown Flint. Drinks and food were awesome, friendly service, worth the effort to get downtown and enjoy this place. Has rooftop bar, which is a nice addition to any city.
Service was horrible, food was average. Wouldn't go back. There are much better place's to eat downtown Flint.
We went to Sauce to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. It was our first time there. The food was amazing! But definitely expect to spend some money, as it was pretty expensive. I had the homemade pasta and pesto, which was amazing!! My daughter and mom had the organic salmon! They both ate every bite and that hardly ever happens. My son and other daughter both ordered the create your own pizza, and my son said it was the best pizza he ever had. Our waitress was good, just slightly slow, as she was the only one working the floor and it got pretty busy. My only complaint would be it was slightly chilly in the restaurant. Definitely will return. Give the rooftop lounge some more time to work out the kinks, as our experience was not as good up there.
Sauce is amazing! Malachi was my server and he was excellent!
Still found they some opening bugs food was very good
