I visited this restaurant for a friend's birthday. It is a relatively new restaurant in my town and I was interested in trying it out . I was highly impressed with the ambiance of the restaurant and the warm, polite staff. The food selection was great and the food we ordered was delicious. The meal was paced appropriately and it allowed for a nice relaxing evening dinner. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
Went on a saturday night with my adult children. It was a quiet night, people were very friendly and helpful. Servers seemed to be whoever was free, which at least got us confused
Antipasto was good, scallops were the special and out of this world good! Everything was a solid good, worth return visits!
Price was a little more than expected but not terrible
The food is terrific -- very interesting combinations of ingredients and flavors -- quite unique.
This was my third time at Satis Bistro. The place is great in a lot of ways - the cocktails, the decor, the vibe, parking is easy, accommodates large groups. However, the food was good, but not great. Some items are really delicious - the fries are amazing - and others seem to lack flavor - brisket needed something more. Really want to love the place and I'm almost there.
Wonderful service, eclectic atmosphere, great food!
As always Lazlo and Max were great and the food superb. I will keep coming back. This time my husband had the hanger steak and i had the gnocchi, excellent both!!! Drink dessert Tiramusi was awesome and the best creme brulee that i've ever tried.
This was my second dinner at Satis Bistro. The food has been excellent on both occasions. However, the service is very inconsistent. For some reason, it is very difficult to order a drink and takes a really long time for a drink to be served. My wife ordered a glass of wine when our appetizers were cleared but did not receive it until after she had almost finished her entree. While the prices may be high for Bloomfield, the portions are large and nicely presented. We will be back.
I’ve been to Satis several times now. It’s a cozy, yummy place. The food is great and service spot-on. It’s on the bigger side, so I’ve been able to get a last minute table. Don’t let the location deter you, it’s a great place to eat a big meal or a light bite.
Really liked the food and our waiter was great. The lighting was too bright and we Suggested to the manager that he dim them as well as change the music " Beach Boys surfing safari was on and then " heard it through the grapevine" He did dim the lights and Immediately the table next to us commented on how the vibe felt sexier. Unfortunately, the awful music remained which detracted From the potential ambiance/vibe. Food is great and with a few tweaks they could have then lining up out the door.
Went for Valentine’s Day. Food was good to start (cheese plate and gnocchi). the server, one of 4 that I had to flag down for clean small plates because the first set was dirty. Then after waiting 45 min post finishing my appetizer, I had to ask where the entree was. They promised it was coming. It came 5 min later, cold. No one likes cold pork belly on top of cold polenta. My wife’s scallops and risotto was warm on outside of the plate but risotto in middle was cold.
It was Valentine’s Day. It was ruined. I couldn’t eat my cold pork.
They said sorry, kitchen underestimated the crowd? Did they check the reservations?
Good food. Tables are too close together and the sangria’s a little weak.
Oh, the story I can tell. Valentines Day, my first mistake. So wanted to like this place. Got our drinks and a salad to share promptly, it quickly went downhill after that. No one came to see if we needed another drink, clear our plates, NOTHING. After an hour and nothing from the blonde lady, a guy noticed things were not quite right and brought us a SECOND salad, said it’s on the house, and seemed confused when we stated we already had a salad.
So we waited. It’s Valentines Day, let’s give them the benefit of the doubt. Long story short, after just under two hours, we got up and left, not paying a dime. We got a hearty ‘good night’ from the totally clueless blond. What really gets me is that no one in this establishment had the intuition to look at situation and assure that their customers were having their basic needs met. No understanding of what customer service is. This is, by the way, the first time I have left a negative review ANYWHERE. Hopefully, the owners can find some help that truly cares about the impression they leave upon their customers.
Place is nice service was terrible we order our whole meal within 10 minutes of arriving as we have a 9 month old but still wanted to have V-Day dinner out. We ordered wine that got mixed up. We ordered cheese and hot salami plate they brought the cheese forgot salami brought it out 15 minutes after reminding them. Entrée took 90 minutes reminded them 3 times last time said promise no more than 5 minutes 30 minutes later it came out cold. When we ordered there were no more than 10 tables filled kept on stating not sure what's going on in kitchen never offered us anything why we waited and charged us full price. Place was cute the way they delivered food look impressive overall food nothing special except creamed Brussel sprouts and leeks if you still go that is a must try...
Menu is very different. If you like trying new things this is a good place to try. It is a little pricey for the portions. 1 app 2 drinks and 2 meals $120 with tip. Staff was friendly. Decor was appealing.
This was our second dinner with a large party - the food was delicious, the service was spot on and the drinks reasonably priced. We’ll be back!
My friend and I shared the octopus salad the lamb meatballs and the Paella. They were all wonderful. Service was friendly and professional. Can't wait to come back again.
Another great meal at Satis. We brought friends who enjoyed the meat and cheese plates as well as the short rib entrees. Service is always fantastic.
Service was very bad. I think there was one waiter for the whole restaurant. Food was okay but not for what is cost.
I don't know what I like better, the food or the service! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants!
We had a lovely evening. The food was great. Will be back, for sure.
Excellent cocktails to start, beautiful ambience, attentive but not obtrusive service, and fantastic food. Will definitely be back soon.
Everything was excellent!
First time and being New Year’s Eve they were quite busy. Overall enjoyed the experience although one entree clearly spent too much time on the pickup counter as it was cold albeit fully cooked. Waiting 20 minutes for dessert after ordering was a minor inconvenience. Friendly staff and a likely spot to try again.
A hidden gem to be sure! We were frequent diners at the Jersey City location and are thrilled to find all the things we love now a little closer to home. The setting is warm and inviting. The food is outstanding. The service is attentive, knowledgable and friendly.
An excellent spot for a drink and a snack or to linger over a long meal.
Satis in Bloomfield is our favorite restaurant in NJ, and we can't wait to return.
Love this place! We've been three times in the past few weeks and have had a great experience every visit. Food is tasty, the space is charming and the wait staff attentive. Everyone we have brought there has been delighted. Satis can accommodate small groups and large. Parking can be a bit difficult, but there is a parking deck close by so it's not really a problem. It's also walking distance from the train and bus. Skip the craziness of Montclair and come to Satis in Bloomfield!
love this place, food, drinks, ambience, service all terrific!
Great food, we shared a meat and cheese plate and the stuffed dates. Entrees at the table included steak frites, pasta, chicken, the burger. We also shared a fantastic German chocolate cake sundae which was divine. Can’t say enough about our friendly and knowledgeable server (Laszo). Who helped us with our menu and wine choices.. This is a really nice looking bar/restaurant space and bigger than it’s sister location in Jersey City.
This is our favorite local, special, restaurant for dates, birthdays, anniversaries- any nice occasion. Tonight we celebrated our son’s 20th birthday, and were not disappointed! Great food, drinks, ambiance. And even though we said we’d skip dessert (we had cake waiting at home), the owner surprised my son with an apple tart, vanilla ice cream, and a birthday candle! The whole restaurant sang Happy Birthday to him! :D
I only wish I had found Satis sooner. What a great restaurant , the food was amazing, service was top notch, will be coming back.
Food and cocktails were amazing! All courses were spread out and we had plenty of time to sit and talk. Highly recommended.
This was our 2nd time at Satis and yum, everyone enjoyed their meals, service and drinks were equally as good.
Every visit has been
Good food small portions is how everyone I know has labeled Satis. For example, the lamb meatball appetizer is 3 small ones wth some chick peas and yes it’s very good. The portion for the price should be 4! A salad with beets was also good but small. Entrees priced mid to high 20’s same story. Wines by the glass are fairly priced and service is fine. I would like to see portion size corrected to return.
Discover this new place yesterday, great ambiance, great service and great food!!! Kudos to Laszlo and our server Max!!!
Another wonderful family dinner. Good food, service and atmosphere. Thank you for the complimentary desert, which my daughter just loved. Will be back again... hope to see new menu options.
Fantastic again. Don't miss this place. Not only is it the best in Bloomfield, it's significantly better than a lot more expensive and tragically hip places in Montclair and elsewhere.
Always good food and gracious host
Food wasOk...nothing bad or great. service the same. Drinks were good. The decour is actually very nice...old tavern like. But the noise level was just too much and it wasn't even overly crowded.
What a great little gem. Nestled in the heart of busy downtown Bloomfield, this little restaurant and bar gives off a relaxed European vibe. The interior has exposed brick and a long bar that spans the length of the restaurant. Cocktails are expertly crafted - try the cucumber gimlet. On an odd note, they happened to be out of Pinot Grigio on the night of our visit and they blamed this on their wine distributor. Food was amazing. Our four top started with potatoes bravas, kale empanada, cacio e Pepe, and creamed Brussels. The potatoes and the Brussels were standouts. For dinner, we shared the oxtail risotto, homemade ricotta gnocchi, and the short rib. All were amazing and demonstrated nice attention to detail and flavor profiles. We were very impressed with our water server - so much so, that we wished he was our server! He was very attentive with refills of water and demonstrated a great sense of humor. This was in contrast to our server, who was slow with service, difficult to find, and forgot/messed up multiple items.
