Amazing sushi omakase. We will be back! Best meal I’ve had in ages.
Such a beautiful evening from start to finish. Every piece of nigiri on the prix fixe omakase menu was seasoned to perfection. By the end, we were so satisfied with the meal and the wonderful service we did not want it to end.
Out of everything the Spanish Mackerel, the Fatty Tuna, and the Scallop were the top contenders. We can't wait until we can return!
I am so appreciative of Sasaki having outdoor dining. Yes, there is a change from the ambiance of sitting at the counter but the exquisite cuisine and the quiet, kind and respectful manner of the staff are unchanged. The omakase was delicious and plentiful with a lovely champagne selection. It was warm , comfortable and safe. Thank you Chef and all of your staff for providing these wonderful experiences for us San Franciscans!
Amazing food and service
Servers were so friendly thank you for accommodating me
I don't do a lot of reviews, but this place is outstanding. One of the top sushi restaurants in the city. Without a shed of doubt.
We came here for a bday dinner for four during pandemic. Service and food was exceptional!
Outdoor dining, 5 2seater tables set up. 3 on one side, 2 on the other. Shaded.
Serving “Amuse” omakase $80/person
All bottles 20% off
Keeping Sasaki San’s high standard.
Good vibe, Harrison is partly closed so not much cars passing by.
Great meal and wonderful service, albeit a bit pricey from what you get.
First omakase experience after Covid. Great service great food.
We really enjoyed the experience. Fish was fresh, staff was very nice and attentive. We will definitely go back.
This is a terrific restaurant and one of the very top sushi restaurants in San Francisco!
Best Toro temaki handrolls as usual! Now Master Sasaki is offering outdoor seating for less formal edomae omakase dinner.
You cannot top the quality of the fish and the skill of the sushi chef. Wonderful and welcoming service as well. Thumbs waay up.
The best sushi I have ever had, hands down. There is a beautiful story in every bite and it was a magical experience start to finish. The location on a quiet corner in the Mission is also quite unique - the sunsets there are unbelievable. (for context I live in LA and have eaten sushi at some of the top sushi restaurants in the world including all over Tokyo).
It was awesome, thanks
Amazingly fresh fish. Quite authentic. Squid had texture of raw shrimp and scallop had texture of raw fish. Mind blown about each piece of nigiri they served. Setting is nice and relaxing.
An atmospheric, quiet and beautiful restaurant. Excellent food but, even more than that, an educational experience.
In my happiest dreams I am eating at Sasaki every week. Every tiny bite seemed perfect, and by that I mean there were perfect textures and tastes, with tiny surprises of fermented salt or some other oh so NOT run of the mill flavor to delight. The tea we ordered was dreamy too, as was the Saki. I cant wait to do it again.
Fish was extremely fresh and delicious. Ambiance was lovely and intimate. Only disappointment was that the chef had lost his voice and couldn’t speak much to tell us about the bites. He is a true master though, and watching him cut & prepare the sashimi and nigiri was an unforgettable experience.
Best-valued omakase. With various insanely fresh 16 nigiris, I left the restaurant for heaven.
Easily the most authentic Japanese sushi course menu in the Bay Area. Chef Sasaki features rare and creative ingredients and an incredible attention to detail. Very special experience.
The first time we went to Sasaki a couple years ago, it was ou
I felt rushed. I was having a nice conversation and it felt as if the chef was mad at me all night
This omakase experience is next level. A must try for sushi lovers. Don’t be fooled because it doesn’t have any Michelin stars. The chef is super famous and has spearheaded many Michelin Star restaurants in the Bay.
Wonderfully traditional Omakase with a large sampling of nigiri. Chef Sasaki really makes it special if your there for a specific celebration. Very small 6person seating at 2 times only. Very intimate so fingers crossed you get good dining partners.
It was sublime.
For the serious omakase experience in SF
Unassuming exterior leads into a beautifully spartan sushi counter. Welcome was warm and friendly. Lovely amuse and starter dishes. The progression of nigiri is somewhat unusual compared to many other omakase I've been to. Here, rather than having a build up of white fish leading up to the fatty fishes, chef groups the nigiri into three movements, each with their ebs and flows. The quality of the fish is outstanding, but the artistry comes from the rice. Chef uses differently seasoned rice for each movement, to match the type and cure of the fish.
Amazing sushi.
Chef was amazing. Thank you!
Chef Sasaki made some mad tasty sushi for us. I truly enjoyed the range of fresh sashimi and nigiri. At $180/plate I can't go too often, but when I want to celebrate or splurge, this is the Omakase I have been dreaming of.
If you want exquisite sushi prepared by an o.g. chef that knows what he's doing in a quiet and austere dinning space, do yourself a favor and add it to your list.
I have just enjoyed my Fourth Omakase Experience at Sasaki and I am already looking forward to my next reservation! Each time Chef Masa Sasaki presents an even more exquisite selection! I could write down the presentations BUT my desire is to focus on the reverent-like manner with which Chef prepares the courses; the beautiful flavors of each selection and the soul-soothing ambiance of Sasaki. I also appreciate the quiet and kind manner of the Serving Staff who are ever attentive to my needs without ever being intrusive.
I Thank You Chef Sasaki and Your Staff for being with us in San Francisco!
Excellent meal. One of the better Omakase places in the Bay Area.
Fancy but not pretentious. Quiet, but comfortable enough to talk with the chef. The last five pieces were worth it. Room got a little too hot (it’s rare in SF, so they didn’t plan on it). I would go again for sure
Wonderful food and very attentive staff.
Most authentic Sushi in SF. Absolutely fantastic. Very friendly and attentive service.
Great sushi!
Cute little spot with superb authentic Omakase. The venue is small (12 seats max) and very quiet. Great for 1:1 conversations with your spouse or business partner. Would highly recommend.
Chef Sasaki and his staff are a Blessing to us in San Francisco! I just had my second dinner last night and I cannot wait to go back again! The Omakase is pristine - the Ambiance is serene and it just does not get any better than having Chef Sasaki right in front of you! The servers are extremely attentive. I will return to Sasaki SF due to the quality of the food, the excellent service and the very peaceful environment. Bravo to you Chef Sasaki!
