So we’ve been before and loved it. Maybe it was an off night but the non-kitchen service was really slow
Excellent food and very warm and welcoming service. Clean and comfortable atmosphere; a lovely place to dine.
We did the 'tasting' menu, which was a great value and tons of food. For 3 of us, we had 5 courses, with 2 or 3 dishes per course (we tried 12 different things). Food was outstanding. Our waiter wasn't the best (pushed getting a bottle of wine rather than glass a bit too much).
Audrey our server was exceptional. The taste profiles were wonderful.
Tiny portions but the food is tasty anyway.
service got better but initially took awhile after the hostess brought our water. seemed like 5 people walked by us and felt ignored. room was very loud as its next door to other Providence G venues that were so loud. not sure if this is normal. Food was good but in a town like PVD there are more options!
Would go back as I love the venue and would think with better service and less noise it could be a good spot!
Menu seems to be limited. Service was very good but portions were on the smaller size for a large price tag.
The seafood was fried in the pasta and seafood dish.. prefer it steamed..
I would be hard pressed to find something wrong with Sarto. The food was delicious. Just the right number of food choices on the menu. The service was professional and happy. The noise level was just enough to keep our conversation private and quiet enough so that I could hear my companion clearly.
We had such a relaxed, delicious dinner with great service that we went back the next day for brunch! Inventive food, but not fussy. Great pastas and a simple cured meat platter with a mustard relish and fresh toast. Farro salad with greens and a soft egg, a romaine salad with a homemade ranch, spicy radiators with seafood among the standouts. Brunch was not very eggy but everything was delicious and excellent coffee and tea ( and local beer). Accommodating with a toddler, but just as easy to sit quietly and intimately as well. Good wines and cocktails. An outside space to watch the world go by. Definitely a keeper!
Nice spot, good service. Couple dishes well over cooked. Wasn’t busy. Would try again but for apps
Waiter was excellent and gave the best recommendations! Listen to the staff they know the best dishes! Will be back!!
While our entrees were ok, the menu was very limited and they were out of what we originally wanted. Service was ok too but I never received my 1,000 points when we checked in!!!
I'm sorry to hear about this, we are unfortunately unable to control whether or not you receive your points. I hope you'll give us another chance soon!
We chose Sarto’s because the menu looked interesting and because it was walking distance to the theater. We reminded our waitress when we were seated that we were going to see a show afterward. We had a great seat by the window so we could see people watch. I chose from a prix fixe theater menu and my husband ordered a la carte. Our wine arrived promptly, but then we waited almost 25 minutes for our starters and we started to get nervous about finishing our meal in time for the show. That being said, the food when it arrived was really delicious. I ordered a salad with smoked blue fish crumbled on top. It was really flavorful. My shrimp scampi risotto was creamy and the flavors were delicate and my husband’s bucatini caccio e pepe was perfectly cooked and the sauce was balanced between the cheese and pepper. We shared a fresh strawberry sorbetto for dessert —it was refreshing and not too sweet. I watched the chefs as they prepared the dishes...they work carefully and pay attention to the details. They need to figure out how to get starters out a little more quickly. The food is worth the wait, but a theater menu needs to be cognizant of the fact that theater goers can’t linger over their meal. Our waitress also made a mistake on the bill, which also didn’t help. sarto’s has a nice vibe, the food is delicious, but our experience was mixed.
Delicious! Great service. Should have both ordered the heirloom tomato salad from the theatre menu options. Very convenient location for going to a show.
The food, although quite tasty, portions were small will not go back.
Our server was absolutely, over the top wonderful. I’d give this spot another shot. We tried the special menu offered while Hamilton is at PPAC. Some of the choices were good, others beautifully presented but missing the mark. It’s a cool spot and a fun place to see and be seen.
Honestly I was excited to try the food for the first time. I found it rather mediocre. The service was ok, a very slow night despite being a big theatre night should have meant a more attentive server. She tried to be helpful, so A for effort, but honestly a restaurant that closes at 9pm in Downtown Providence is unheard of. My sister enjoyed her food, and she is rather picky, I'm much less picky but work in the service industry so I suppose I was expecting to be wowed. Perhaps I will try again in the future.
The food, a sublime eggplant parmigiana, was delicious, the cocktail mediocre . The waitstaff was superb and made up for the high noise level. This may bother me more than some people as I am in an older age category. Nonetheless a great restaurant!
Went with a group and tried a lot of dishes. Everything was great. I especially enjoyed the burrata salad and the deviled eggs. Beautifully decorated. Great service. Will recommend and return!
