Nice atmosphere, high quality food and menu, plus excellent service
Our seat was close to the front door and the bar where people checked in - not ideal but only available. The food and service were excellent.
This restaurant is by far one of the best if not the best Italian restaurant that we have ever eaten at!!!
Excellent, Authentic Sardinian and Italian food, presented by professional
personable and friendly wait staff.European dining elegance, perfect timing between courses. Excellent wine list, especially the Sardinian red, Cannonau. The veal ravioli or angliotti are a rare treat. Ask for Ari to be your waitress. If we lived nearby, we would be
weekly regulars. Buon Appetito, Dr AL Shrive
My globe trotting parents don’t always like to eat out, because they brag food is almost always better at home. My dad is from Rome, and an Italian Food snob. My mother has honed her culinary skills to an impressive level.
Knowing that, I brought them to Sardinia last night, confident they would love everything about it.
Yes, Sardinia won them over!
Dad couldn’t stop smiling, raising his eyebrows and eating every last little bite, he even asked for more Carasau freshly made bread. My mom was thrilled too. Less cooking at home for her, more enjoying wonderful food here. We had the Octopus carpaccio with arugula and bottarga, the Wild mushrooms in a crispy parmesan basket, the Pecorino and orange zest Culurgiones in tomato sauce, the Sushi grade Tuna, and the Chilean Sea Bass. Also dessert. Our server Ariana was a delight, magically anticipating our needs.
My parents were so impressed they made reservations to bring friends visiting from Europe, the next day.
Great cuisine well prepared not your typical Italian food.
The sound in the large dining area was quiet for the size of the room. Our party of 4 could communicate easily and the room was fully booked.
Great wine list. No cocktails, just wine and beer.
Waitress recommended several choices to those who asked and explained why.
If we resided in much closer proximity then we would be weekly regulars!!
It’s was Valentines Day so they were very busy. Even though they were busy the service was fabulous. Our server, Ariadna, was fabulous. Husband had the veal ravioli which was excellent. I had the lasagna. The best I’ve ever had. I have now had all the pastas on the menu. They are homemade and so good. Love this place!
I have dined at Sardinia several times. The veal chop is divine. Fish is lovely and the wine and desserts excellent. I would not order pasta again. Service and ambiance great.
Terrific restaurant and wonderful chef. Service is extraordinary and food is served hot and well presented. Have been coming to Sardinia for several years and am never disappointed.
For a special occasion or just a romantic dinner Sardinia is an excellent choice.
It was amazing. Had the best veal chop ever!!! Also the vegetable soup, garden salad huge, and the Sardinia gnocchi with sea bass to die for.
Can’t forget desert ricotta tart
We had a great experience service and food. We enjoyed our time there. Will be back.
This was not my first visit so I was extremely disappointed. The food was average the service was painful and it wasn’t even busy.
I will not return.
It was wonderful from start to finish! Can’t wait to go back.
This was our first visit - the food and service were excellent. Look forward to another visit soon
Excellent first time experience -- attentive service, ample menu, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. We tried Caesar salad, the salmon entree and the gnocchi and sausage dish, plus gelato for dessert; all were delicious. We will be back!
Great food. Great service. My favorite restaurant in Sarasota
Too noisy for this group. A few of the group enjoyed their meals but a couple did not. Meals had no garnish and some looked unappealing. Tables too close together in the dining room.
We were delighted with everything at Sardinia and will go back often. The noise level is somewhat high but our table was in the corner so that helped.
We love this restaurant & the food is excellent. The authentic bread isn’t available anywhere else. Lasagna was the table favorite but the veal tortellini was delicious as well.
We tried this restaurant based on a glowing, though several year old, review in a local magazine. The ambiance and service were both fine. The food was pedestrian at best. Certainly it was not worth $79 (before tip) for two small pasta dishes, one shared salad, and two glasses of a decent wine. Had the bill been $35-45, we'd have been disappointed, but not as steamed. The spinach, goat cheese, walnut, carmelized onion salad was undressed, unspiced, and just bland. The capellini with fava beans were both so overcooked as to be literally mush. The linguini ai frutti di mare was a nice al dente, but the red sauce was as if from a jar at Publix. There were 3 tiny clams, 3 small mussels, 3 tiny tasteless - likely frozen - shrimp, and a whole lot of tasteless, tough cubes of octopus. If you are looking for Italian food that is better than a TV-dinner, go elsewhere. If you want to feel ripped off, come here.
Excellent, 5 star.
Noise level is really too high.
Prices are just on the edge of “a bit too much”.
AND, it is one of our favorites!
Fodd was great inspite of what eddie said. He couldnt be more wronger
This is real Italian cooking! The food was excellent, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
Every time we come here we discover some thing else to be obsessed with.
The Lasagna is now my new addiction. It is the best I have ever had, & I devoured it with extreme pleasure.
My date was ranting & raving about the Prime Strip Loin Tagliata- so juicy & flavorful, that paired with Arugula & Parmesan, is nothing short of perfection.
Our server was a wonderful, extremely knowledgeable & expertly guided us through their extensive wine list.
The Mastrojanni Brunello di Montalcino was a stand out.
We finished this night with the Chocolate Mousse & the Caramel Panna Cotta. Wow!
The food and service were excellent. We didn’t feel rushed, and the chef even cane out to say hello. A friend from Italy recommended Sardinia as one of his favorite restaurants. We were quite pleased!! The seafood linguini was especially good, as well as chocolate mousse for dessert.
Use asparagus chunks not shavings in your pasta dish. Don’t dice your red snapper.
Great service intimate environment
Creative food beautifully presented
As always, Sardinia is exceptional and a very nice treat. Great, interesting food, wonderful service. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Authentic cuisine. Excellent wait staff and spectacular food.
Sardinia is one of the top restaurants in Sarasota. The service is excellent, friendly and efficient. The food is top quality and presented beautifully. We had the pecorino and prosciutto, and the baked tomato as appetizers, Both were excellent. The Sardinian wine we chose couldn't have been better. Entrees, the Halibut special and the Fettuccini with Wild Mushrooms, both prepared simply and to perfection. I will keep this on the frequent return visit list.
Excellent service. Unbelievable food. Best of Sarasota.
Our favorite restaurant in Sarasota! The food and service never disappoint!
Sardinia is always a pleasure. Very good food and great service. We are very picky when it comes to Italian food, the result of Italian mother’s whose cooking is better than most restaurants, so liking this restaurant is truly a good review.
The food here is always spot on. You can tell that everything is fresh and homemade. Very authentic.
Great service, very romantic place.
Food was above average, not great.
Appetizers were fair, ordered mozzarella and olives, cheese was cold and hard, should have been a higher caliber and much softer delicate cheese. Mushroom app was meh, good but nothing close to memorable. Bread was incredible, I would suggest they create flatbread out of their receipt, would be huge.
Pasta was very good with seafood, Paella was strange and different. Still tasty but wouldn’t order again. Gnocchi was really good, not great. Wife’s salmon was amazing, veggies completely uncooked.
That’s the summary, worthy of a try but only a solid B- for me. Sarasota has too much to offer for this to make my repeat list. Waiter was fantastic, actually one of the best that we have had anywhere. Suggested an amazing wine.
Flavors are thoughtful and authentic. Everything we had was delicious. Most of us had seafood and it tasted very fresh. My only complaint was the noise level. Hard for a table of 5 to heat each other.
