Lovely way to celebrate birthday. Brunch was delicious. Kiddos loved pancakes and French toast. My power salad is a lunch time Fav. For brunch I added poached eggs —- amazing!
Noise level was too loud; overall good experience
My date and I were shocked at how bad the food was since it was so highly reviewed. The surrounding tables were also unhappy with their food. The pastas were bland, and the mussels were actually completely inedible.
The waiter was excellent and we really enjoyed him, as Clayton residents we like to walk to restaurants but we were disappointed in the menu, and we are foodies and have been here, too many bizarre food combos, no fish, no green salad, won’t return
Our server didn’t return to our table after dropping off food. I had a bottomless cup of coffee that was never refilled and we had to track her down to get our check. Very Disappointing.
Great food and great service. Love this place!
Overall a good experience. Food was tatsy, service was excellent.
We enjoyed the creative and unique food, as well as the excellent service from our waiter.
Food is the star of the show, small interesting menu done superbly. Nduja pasta dish is very flavorful, but since it is a rich dish the smaller version might be enough. The mussels are excellent with a very mild curry broth. Nice bar, well made cocktails. Bright, open space, gets a little noisy when full.
Grossly overpriced. $175 including tip for 2 people!
Always Crafty and awesome.
Good to Great food as we tried almost all of the appetizers - peppers, burrata & ricotta apps were awesome. 4 of the 5 had the Nduja Agnolotti for the main. They accommodated us and added truffles to the dish for an upcharge. Not sure if there is an easy way to eat that dish, hint don't try and cut the Agnolotti in half, as a we occasionally had Nduja juice spraying everywhere.
Seating was a bit odd and we were in the front corner and it was HOT from the sun.
Nice bar with a few good whisky options.
Very good food. I really enjoyed the octopus dish.
Fresh, authentic, and delicious Italian cuisine...fantastic and memorable!
A very limited menu and very odd things served. Served a Italian meat plate with rolls and butter. The house pasta was very salty and we sent it back.
Restaurant week. Fantastic!
We have eaten at Sardella’s before and loved it, but this time the food was fair at best. We do not plan on going back.
Great food. Fresh and original. Good healthy choices and pleasant atmosphere
Great food. Special was a fish and it was delightful, the cheese was great, and the deserts also tasted amazing!
The food was good but not worth the menu price. Seemed a bit steep for such basic choices that seemed lacking. No wines under $11. I thought this place was replacing the higher end Niche to be more of a neighborhood casual spot, but the cost doesn't seem to reflect that, even for the burger or a salad.
This place is one of our favorites!! Delicious food and has the cozy vibe of an Italian cafe
Loved the food, super service, great location. Highly recommend this place. Will come again
The meal for all 4 of us was decent. The service was good. The reservation was honored on time. However, the noise level was so LOUD THAT WE COULDN'T HEAR our conversation next to each other. Hard ceiling, hard walls and hard floor contributes to extreme noise level. Wouldn't go back due to the noise!
The sardine appetizer was heavenly, as was the gelato. My fish special-hake- was too salty, and my fellow diner’s paprika pasta entree was not good enough to eat.
Everything was pretty good. Nothing super spectacular, but everything was pretty good.
Food was better than the service. Service bordered on ignoring us a customers. Much too loud to have a conversation - even at our table for 2. Food, while good, had too much "stuff" on it. Thus, it was overpriced, even during restaurant week.
The food was outstanding and very inventive.
Will definitely return
Traveling by car on I-64 and needed a place to eat. Had mussels, pasta, and salad. We shared and enjoyed food prepared well and presented beautifully. A great find near the highway. Way better than Chick-Fil-A
Fun evening, service was superb. The food was creative and tasty. We particularly enjoyed the tagliatelle. Dinner rolls are wonderful.
My first time in St. Louis and was extremely impressed with Sardella. The service is wonderful and gracious. The food is amazing using seasonal ingredients and very creative. Defiantly is on my list to revisit when I find myself in St. Louis.
Loved the heirloom tomato/focaccia salad and the crispy octopus! Each dish beautifully constructed.
Having only eaten the brunch here, mostly everything that I've tried was beyond excellent. The sweets are clearly made by a skilled pastry chef and are far beyond the quality you'd expect from a regular restaurant. The menu options aren't the most attractive, but you'll be pleasantly surprised by what comes out once you order. There's plenty of fresh veggies and good flavor combinations. However, I do find the breakfast potatoes to be a bit underwhelming. Sardella has a beautiful atmosphere and friendly service. I'd certainly consider it to be one of the better places to dine in Clayton!
Sardella's pasta dishes were great! Very tasty. But the portions were soo small that we would have liked more food for the price.
Food and service was awesome. Great evening!
This place is so good. The food is divine and fairly apportioned for a small plates place. Loved the rolls and the crispy octopus but the standout for me was the smoked sardine toasts. I know the menu changes so please, if the sardine toasts are on the menu when you visit, you need to order them!
A wonderful birthday celebration, significantly enhanced by our top-notch server, Micah. We very much enjoyed our start and finish: off-menu cocktails and a decadent chocolate torte. A grilled mushroom and lentil appetizer was tasty but short on mushrooms. The winning dishes, however, were a creative pasta and yellow squash dish ("summer rotolo"), and an entree of hake and vegetables in parmesan broth -- both were superb. Our early arrival time helped ensure a quieter atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!
Worth it. Menu changes often s it’s a new restaurant every time.
My wife and I have been here multiple times and love the place. Not a great experience this time as our server barely even spoke to us. Just enough to ask us what food we wanted and to bring our check. Didn’t introduce or converse at all. Food was great and restaurant is still great. Probably a one off!
Excellent food....early evening dining yielded relatively quiet experience....loved all dishes and cocktails.
Every time I go to Sardella, I find something more to love. This visit was for brunch. The brussels sprout toast was really delicious! We can't pass up the cinnamon rolls but decided to shared ONE just to be healthy.
