My wife and I love dining at Sardella as the food is always good and unique. We have enjoyed dining at all of Mr Craft's restaurants from his humble beginning thru Niche and now Sardella.
I must admit we wish you would not have changed the name as Niche told it best. You guys always had a special place in our world- Niche, I think means special place or offering and that's what you provide. One suggestion I would offer! My wife and I would like for you to better describe the various entrees as its hard to really get a feel for what's coming with the description on the menu. The waiters somehow never get thru the jargon to explain what exactly you are preparing for us. I had a pasta (so I thought) on Father's Day and when it came it looked and tasted different.
The food was delicious and our waitress was wonderful!
Fabulous food and service! My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, our waiter greeted us with complimentary Prosecco and a non-alcoholic fizzy drink for our 12 year old daughter. All of the food and cocktails we tried were delicious; we especially enjoyed the sardine toast and octopus appetizers.
We really like Gerard Craft restaurants, and the food was good as expected. I don’t think the value is there. We spent $150 on a date night for casual Italian with entrees at almost $30 each. We shared the mussels, which were the highlight of the meal for me. Wines by the glass were $12-$14 on a $20 fair market value bottle. The food was good, but it didn’t wow me like Niche did. I feel this vision on Italian is lost between casual and upscale. I would have been happier at Pastaria for half the price. Every idea can’t be a winner.
Consistently very good. Small , intimate and great staff. Brunch, lunch, dinner. Tried all menus. High five!
Dinner was incredible. Burger is unreal and gnocchi was delicious
Sardine Toast and Mussels very nice; octopus horribly overcooked. Nice place, usually good food.
What a fun spot! Great fun, wonderful wait staff and pleasant atmosphere!
My wife and I went here for our anniversary. We know the chef work from his previous restaurant and knew we would be amazed by the food. No disappointing hear everything we ordered was awesome. We were greeted with champagne and our dessert had a happy anniversary sign it. Simple and effective. :) Recommend! We’ll be back!
Ate outside for brunch on a delightful morning. Great service from Amy. Really enjoyed the quiche. Great dining experience.
Delicious cheese plate and hummus appetizer for Hapoy Hour and I loved my vegetarian gnocchi entree- delicious! To die for!
Food was superb....love the brussel sprouts 3 ways!
We enjoyed our meal but the service was slow. I ordered an appetizer and small plate both of which were tasty. However some of the ingredients were present in miniscule amounts like the white asparagus and kumquat in the hummus so wasn't able to taste them.
Food and service were phenomenal. All 3 starters and entrees were items we would gladly order again. Very fresh spring menu. Best meal in St. Louis hands down.
Wee thought the food was pretty good but very lightly spiced. Could have used more garlic & pepper in the Hake dish. I suppose if the sauce was supposed to be delicate - it was. It just wasn't overly flavorful. The Gem salad was good but the mushrooms in the appetizer were slightly tough.
Start to finish amazing! Fantastic wines as well. Rolls, Crispy Octopus, Burrata, and Short Rib were all killer! Cant wait to come back and try their Brunch.
The meal was great. They were understaffed and the service was spotty, I ordered a second aperal , but we were finished with lunch and it still hadn’t arrived.
Waiter was very helpful in having the volume of the music. My friends were amazed by the quality of the food. I already knew it was fab.
This was my second time visiting Sardella, and once again it didn't disappoint. You know it's going to be a good experience when your first cocktail is ON POINT - perfect sazerac! The bar staff was pleasant and kept us quenched while we awaited our table. Once seated, our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. The menu options were incredible, a lot of creative variety. To start with, we ordered the warm dinner rolls, smoked sardine toast and buratta, all of which were incredible. I highly recommend the burrata...the pickled green tomato salsa verde and fry bread were to die for! For my main course, I ordered the current gnocchi dish, it was rich and delish - the crispy hen of the woods mushrooms were a nice addition for both texture and flavor. I had a different gnocchi dish the last time I visited Sardella, and it was scrumptious then as well. For dessert we had the chocolate torta, it was divine and perfect to share. Can't wait to go back again very soon!
Another great meal at a Gerard Craft restaurant! We had been wanting to come but kept forgetting to make a reservation but just happened to get lucky on Memorial Day weekend. We especially appreciated the unusual pairing of such foods and sardines and spinach on toast. The creamy French onion soup was so delicious along with the mussels. However, it was the Niduja Agnolotti that really captured our attention with the flavor and also moving fish flakes! We finished it off with green tea gelato. Perfect meal and the wait staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. We plan to come back and bring friends. :) The Campbells
Unique menu! Everything we had was served with a beautiful presentation & absolutely delicious!
The food and service are excellent, but it's super NOISY. We could not hear even when shouting at each other. The review allows you to say that the noise level is "energetic" but I say it was "painful," and I LIKE lively restaurants. Too bad, because the food and service were great. At these prices, though, I expect to be able to enjoy myself and hear my friends across the table. Couldn't a restaurant of this quality invest in an acoustics consultant?
Delicious food with great vegetarian dishes, very knowledgeable waitperson, excellent service and very helpful at helping us choose a wine.
Very tasty food. I would have loved a wider selection of salads but whatever we ordered tasted great! We ate ricotta pancakes - superb; toast with Brussel sprouts and poached egg - very good; salmon salad with farro and quinoa - delicious! Service was great and the place was busy but relatively quiet on Saturday morning so we were able to talk and enjoy the food for a while.
Absolutely, LOVE this place! I have only been for breakfast, however every time I go I fall more in love with the great tasting food and the beautifully quaint restaurant.
Excellent porchetta sandwich and waitress cheerfully substituted salad for potato chips. Very graciously handled.
Outstanding food and service! Love this restaurant!!
The Charred Octopus dish is amazing, the prosciutto ham and rolls is always one of our favorites. And they whipped up a great Vegan pasta and vegetable dish for my wife. And Sump coffee to top it off, it was a great meal.
First try at Sardella for brunch. Great atmosphere, casual and comfortable. Excellent staff, nice presentation of the menu. We had a variety of items including pastries. The doughnut and cinnamon roll were delicious. Ricotta pancakes also scored a 10. The Benedict Raviolo was delicious, but they were not hot, and would have been tastier if the hollandaise was warm. The potatoes were also cold by the time they reached our table and were so salty they were almost inedible. Other than those two missteps, the meal was excellent. The breakfast sandwich was stellar, and the bacon and egg sides cooked perfectly. We will be back for another try.
Crispy Spanish Octopus - Amazing.
Mussels - Excellent.
Gnocchi - Delicious. Love the Hen of the Woods with it.
Sardella is always phenomenal. We went for our anniversary dinner, which I indicated on our reservation. It’s always so fun to share several dishes. We ordered dessert and the chefs included an adorable “Happy Anniversary” placard made of chocolate and the manager brought us two glasses of champagne on the house. Really made us feel celebrated!
The food is amazing!
The service is friendly and prompt.
Every dish was heaven.
Try the Basil Olive oil ice cream dessert.
It sounded unusual & was amongst the best desserts I ever tasted.
Good. Not sure I understand the hype. Expensive and loud but the food was good.
A party of 6 totally satisfied with the food and the service. Several had the ravioli benedict and all said it was one of the best things they had ever eaten. I loved my burger but next time I will have what they had.
We came to Sardella for our anniversary. The service was unbelievably slow and they restaurant had empty tables so no excuse. We waited a good 5-8 minutes before our waitress even realized we were sitting in her section. I ordered the chicken and French toast. I really wish I was told or it should have been on the menu that the chicken is a chicken wing. I hate wings! For that price, I expected a chicken breast. My husbands burger was great. Open table inquired what we were celebrating. I selected anniversary. It was never acknowledged. So, why ask? We will try again however I am not at all impressed with the service
Our experience was good in every way except one. We ordered two "snacks," one small plate, and one main plate to share between two; the two snacks and small plate came at about the same time. It would have been nice to have a more leisurely pace. Next time we will order "snacks" and then wait to order our other courses. I would like to also thank the hosting staff; I made a mistake in the scheduling of a group reservation a few weeks back. Not only did they make every effort to accommodate our table of six, but the service and food were impeccable!
I like Sardella's dinner menu, but the restaurant's brunch menu really shines. The pancakes were crispy on the outside and creamy on the outside, exceeding all of my expectations of what pancakes can be. I liked the veggie sides, and the coffee and ambiance were also great.
The Warm Rolls were to DIE for... so so delicious. Everyone should get these no matter what!
The starters were super yummy. We were a little disappointed by the mains. They were still yummy, but the rest of the other courses just blew us away with deliciousness.
The cocktails were also very creative and tasted wonderfully.
Chicken was bland and uninspired.
This a place where you eat and you would like to eat again since the food was excellent.
