Sarabeth's West Ratings and Reviews
Food and service were great. I expected a tasty meal and received one..... a cheese omelet. What was most disturbing was the noise level. We were seated in the back of the restaurant which I thought would be less noisy. It was not! The restaurant was full and there was nothing in the restaurant to absorb the chatter.
I would definitely return -- but at a different hour.
My favorite of the Sarabeth's in NYC (on Amsterdam) never fails to deliver a warm welcome and an excellent meal. I made a reservation for a Saturday night to meet a college roomie from out-of-town, and she showed up with another old friend! Great! And Sarabeth's was right there with a table for the three of us. We all enjoyed the evening and our dinners immensely. Low-key ambiance, good food. Truly a "neighborhood gem."
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on my single experience. The food did not have much of a taste, neither the fish nor the chicken. The waffles were good. Our server spent quite a bit of time at one table, chatting. People at neighboring table and ours had to wait for the visit to end before being able to order or get check.
Sarabeth’s is my go to for brunch and the food is always amazing. I strongly recommend their French toast along with one of their sides which can easily be shared with your dinner guests.
Unfortunately our waiter was not very attentive and messed up our order twice. However, it didn’t stop us from enjoying the meal and ambiance. I would still strongly recommend Sarabeth’s.
On the most recent visit (out of many) I was seated and my order was taken within 4 minutes and the food (Goldie Lox, which is scrambled eggs, salmon, and cream cheese) was delivered in 10 minutes. Everything was perfect, the food wonderful, and the staff great. The scrambled eggs combo was so much better than the same dish at other places. This is a small chain, the one I visit is on the Upper West Side (the first Sarabeths). The ingredients are fresh and nicely plated. Highly recommended.
Disappointed in Front of house staff acknowledged my check in and then after a half hour of waiting patiently the hostess argued 2 times that I did not have a reservation , I had my phone and had to show two different people the reservation .
Not worth the aggravation !
We have eaten at Sarbeth's for decades, and always enjoy the food, service, and ambiance. We usually go to the Eastside restaurant, so I'm not sure if that was the issue on this visit to the Westside location, but we had an early reservation (5 pm) prior to another event, the restaurant was nearly empty (one or two other tables were filled, and nevertheless, we waited 40 minutes for our entrees to be served, and mine was barely lukewarm (and as a result, barely eaten). With little time left before our after-dinner appointment, I just took it home rather than send it back to be reheated. Hopefully this isn't typical of the Westside location - I will certainly give the restaurant another chance as we have enjoyed it so much in the past, but this was a real disappointment.
Good food and great drinks. I don't usually sit at sidewalk seating, but it was fun and not as noisy as I thought it would be. It was also a very beautiful day. The calamari was excellent, the lobster roll was delicious. The portion was substantial. Our wait staff was attentive but not lurking. I enjoyed the atmosphere very much.
Everything was great but it was very busy and I think they may have overbooked for outdoor dining reservations because even though I had a 12:30 reservation, I wasn't seated until about 1:15. Other than that, everything was great, the staff was super nice and the food was amazing, as always. :)
This was our first time eating at Sarabeth's . We have walked by this restaurant countless times and finally decided to eat here. Our breakfast was great! The Four Flowers Juice, a combination of orange, pineapple, banana, and pomegranate, is very good though a bit pricey. Food was well made and tasted great. We will definitely eat here again.
First visit to this location of Sarabeth's -- and it did not disappoint! Great brunch spot -- delicious mimosas. The avocado and burrata toast is a must try from the appetizer menu. The Maine Lobster roll was delicious, and my friend loved the seafood cobb salad. Very friendly waitstaff. Did not feel rushed at all! Will definitely go back next time I am in NYC.
I normally like Sarabeth's West, but in out most recent visit the hamburger was still excellent, but the fish and chips serving size was incredibly small and the French fries were not hot. I always recommend the desserts and baked goods, but even they were a little too small for the price. (I paid over $24 for about 4 tablespoons of cod and cold fries.)
Food is reliable but getting seated within a reasonable period of time of a reservation is not. Have yet to wait less than 30 minutes from my reservation time at Sarabeth's to get seated. Also one of the noisiest restaurants. Cramped quarters and low ceilings contribute to the noise level. Will not be eating here again.
My husband and I ate Sunday brunch here on 9/3/17. I really wanted to like this popular UWS restaurant but I found it to be just "OK". The service was adequate but not personable. The tables are so close together they felt more communal. Just not what we were looking for in a 9am Sunday Brunch. The food was good but not outstanding as I had hoped. Just could have been an off day for the restaurant or, it just didn't meet my preconceptions.
