Birthday dinner with family. The service and food was fabulous and so much that we decided to have breakfast the next meeting.
Sarabeth’s continues to have the tasty comfort food it’s been famous for a long time. Unfortunately, the service was uneven. Our lead server was very helpful and knowledgeable, but the assistants were still getting up to speed. They tried to deliver the wrong entree to me, and when the right one (chicken pot pie) came, it was cold, instead of hot like it should be. Still recommend it overall, but you need to be patient with the service. It’s not a place to go for a quick lunch.
I know this place is known for the brunch.
It was quite empty for dinner. So, I don’t understand why they gave us a very small table.
The food was amazing, though.
Very nice place to stop and dine when in the upper west side. We were on the early side on a weekday so there were not a lot of people in the restaurant, but the service was impeccable and the ambiance of the dining room was excellent - promising even if you are there on a Friday or Saturday night. The menu (for both drinks and food) is relatively small, but with excellent choices and specials). A great stop after an afternoon of museums.
The pancakes lemon pancakes were to die for but the eggs Benedict were nothing to write home about , their hollandaise sauce was lacklustre and I definitely wouldn’t re order ( even though I’m a Benedict lover) . The servers were very nice aside from that over rated.
place almost empty but the service was VERY slow ....i feel the quality is going down
30 minute wait to sit even though we had a reservation!
Service and food were great! The business meeting transpiring next to our table, obnoxious! But rude people, oblivious to other customers are everywhere...
Our meal was very good but not extraordinary.
The prix fix dinner has a limited numbe rof choices, but is an good buy for $29 for three courses.
The baby kale Caesar salad was fresh and generously sized.
The scallop entree was heavy on the garlic, and the scallops were not as fresh as they should have been.
The fish and chips and fresh fish. The panko crust was crispy but on the heavy side.
Decent meal, but I won't be rushing back.
They are better for brunch.
It was delicious and light food in a cozy ambience.
Dinner and service were great! Will go again!
Sarabeth is always pretty reliable for a good brunch. The four flowers drink was really tasty, as was the French toast. Also had the burger that was just ok. Good scene, but rather overpriced for the food.
Everything was amazing !!! One of the best breakfast yet
The food was delicious. The service was outstanding and it was NOT noisy. So, we could have pleasant conversation. They did rush us out after dinner was finished. We were able to have a very, very lovely evening. I highly recommend this gem on the upper west side.
Needed a family friendly restaurant for dinner after a day spent at the Museum of Natural History. Great kids menu and excellent service. Look forward to going back.
We needed a place to talk about a project and Sarabeth's has a lovely setting, very good healthy food, and is quiet enough to enjoy a substantive meeting/conversation.
We LOVE Sarabeths West.., but not for the food. The food can be delicious, but that's not why we go there. We go for the warm welcome, the reasonable prices and the wonderful service. We had delicious salad, delicious tomato soup, a great chicken pot pie and completely incompetent grilled cheese sandwiches. Would we go back? In a heartbeat! That's Sarabeths. Oh and e terrific wine!
Outstanding service and food quality. Best omelette I’ve ever had. Fruit was incredibly fresh.
We love the food and the wait staff at Sarabeth’s. They are always very friendly and patient, never making you feel rushed. The food is consistently very good.
Great Benedict!!!! Love it. And the juice is good too!
Sarabeth's is a good place for people who don't like food. There are at least 15 restaurants and bars on Amsterdam Avenue between 79th and 81st Streets and all of them have better food than the meal I had yesterday at Sarabeth's. The omelet was greasy. I reminded the waitress that I had ordered an egg-white omelet and she said, "Oh, it must be the butter." (My reservation said that I was on a low-fat diet.) The bran muffin was dry and tasteless. I have
no intention of going back.
Amazing as always. Tried the pot pie which I’ve never had before and loved it. Cocktail was nice as well
Great food! A little over-priced for the amount of food, but overall great experience.
I came with my sister who is hard of hearing and needs light to help her read my lips. They went to a lot of trouble to find us just the right spot. The service was great and the food never disappoints. I’m always happy to go back when I’m in NYC.
pricing on the website menu, different than the restaurant upon my arrival and bill.
I had such a wonderful lunch during Restaurant week that I decided to return Once again, food and service was wonderful but I was surprised that on a visit one week earlier a pot of black tea was 3.50 and a week later same pot was 4.50..so one week 7$ for two teas, next week 9$ for two teas, either way, lunch was delicious.
We took advantage of the Restaurant Week menu, and could not have been more pleased. Great service, ambience and food.
First time trying Sarabeth’s, wanted to see what the hype was about. The food was good but not life changing lol
Service was really nice, food was fine also.
Although the restaurant was crowdy. Overall, it made me satisfying
The hostess was pushy and rude to confirm my reservation, yet we had to wait 20 min for our table to be ready, completely unacceptable. If the food was not as it was, I would have given the lowest rating.
This place was great! Food was amazing, crab guac is a must get for an app.
When I originally booked my res 2 months early, my opentable name was listed as my husbands name. I quickly changed that. When the first half of my group got to restaurant they told us they had no record of our res. Being that there are 7 of us that was concerning because the place was packed. Long story short, they still had it as my husbands name. Food was good. I wish it was more of a real brunch where you could order lunch food earlier, but we did come at 10:30 and lunch wasn't served until 11. We were too hungry to wait. I had the garden omlette and it was good. Most of my group got the potato waffle and enjoyed it.
As always...Great food and attentive service at Sarabeth's West!
Delightful and yummy.
A great choice for lunch and they totally accommodated my special table request.
I will be back.
Mundane and serviceable. Omelets and breakfast are best on menu.
Very intimate, quiet and comfortable. Excellent food and service
Ordered lobster roll. Yummy but for $28 the roll could have been a bit more generous.
Our waiter was a bit of a showman. He came to the table and without warning flipped the empty coffee cup nearly giving me a heart attack. Throughout our stay, he carried dishes and checks on top of his head.
The volume in the front room is ear piercing. Back room a bit better.
Reservations a must.
Five of us were in town from DC, San Francisco, NM and FL to celebrate birthday. Made
reservations at Sarabeth's West as I had eaten brunch at another of Sarabeth's locations.
Enjoyed the food and good service but....the line right next to our table never slowed up
a bit. That is one popular place but lacks noise baffling. No chatting at all. Great people
watching of course, but next time will ask to be seated a bit away from all that energy.
It was raining to boot so extra congestion. I left my brolly in the brolly box and it was
still there when I went to leave.....
Check it out but even with a reservation, be prepared to wait....worth it though.
The food was disappointing -- basically bland and uninteresting. Service was reasonable, and they were accommodating of the fact that we kept adding people to our party. But overall, there are better dining experiences one can have, so I would suggest skipping Sarabeth's.
