Sarabeth's Ratings and Reviews
I was disappointed with my experience at Sarabeth's based on its great reviews. The restaurant is pretty and the service was very good. However, the food was just okay. I was with a large party and most of us enjoyed our entrees. However, the sides, grains potatoes and vegetables were all lukewarm and bland. I expected better. It isn't on my list of restaurants to visit again.
We had a fabulous time at Sarabeth's. This is our 4th time going to this restaurant. We always make a point to have either brunch or dinner there whenever we are visiting Key West. Favourites of our group include the Key West Shrimp with coconut rice and the shellfish cakes. Both are just DIVINE. For dessert, their Individual Key Lime Pies are out of this world. The best I've ever had. Highly highly recommend.
We were very disappointed with our first visit. We had heard good things about Sarabeth's. We ate outside on a lovely night. At 7:00 pm on a Saturday night , in season, items on the menu were not available. (one of their signature entrées) One of the starters (soup) was never delivered ( with minimal apologies). The seafood cakes were adequate, the Key West Ship nice and the Snapper was delicious. Would recommend the Calamari app. The restaurant is one block from the firehouse and sirens punctuated the dining experience. Later as we ate the unavailable entrée suddenly appeared at another table nearby.
Disappointing dinner. Ordered the shrimps which were supposed to be sautéed and served with a garlic and brandy flavored sauce. The sauce was bland with no hint of garlic or Brandy. Furthermore, the shrimps had not the slight color (appeared to have been boiled instead of sautéed) which did not make the dish very appetizing. Husband had the filet mignon which was fine but unremarkable. Service was efficient.
This restaurant is outstanding! We have been dining here for many, many years and it never disappoints. Their Sunday fried chicken is amazing as is their whole deep friend snapper. Desserts are excellent as well. The owner, Milos, is an amazing host with a great personality and he greets every customer as a long, lost friend. Every trip to Key West means we will have a great dinner and breakfast at Sarabeth's. This restaurant is a must when you come to KW.
The restaurant’s lack of attention to a food allergy led to one member of our dinner party to become ill, which ruined our dining experience. The restaurant insisted that they didn’t goof and never apologized for serving something to a guest that he was allergic to. I realize that mistakes happen, but when they do, there should be apologies and swift corrective action, and the patron shouldn’t be charged for the restaurant’s mistake.
We never go to Key West and not have a meal at Sarabeth's, it's wonderful. The service was excellent, the food is delicious, and the presentation was spectacular. Try the Yellowtail or the crabcakes, both were great. Also a nice selection of reasonablly priced wines.
Sarabeth's easily elevates simple meals to a feast for the palate. Their choice of top ingredients and and a creative hand in the kitchen makes for some of the best food in Key West. Highly recommend their flawless execution of anything on the menu, as well as their top notch attention to every detail. Will definitely make it a point to return.
This was our second visit to Sarabeth's. We were looking forward to a return when we confirmed our trip to Key West. I had the shrimp and grits and my partner had the Sunday special (fried chicken). Both were delicious and well prepared. For dessert, we had the Old Fashioned Pudding which was really good, but really sweet. Definitely worth sharing! Service was attentive but not overbearing. We went later in the evening so it wasn't crowded. Earlier in the evening, it's common to see full tables and people standing in line. Check out Sarabeth's; you won't be disappointed. Milos is a fantastic maitre'd!
