   Our first time at Sappe was a great experience. Lively atmosphere, great flavors and attentive service. The food came out FAST. Gerry recommended the Miss Dolly cocktail to complement the spicy flavor profile, and it paired nicely.

   Fabulous experience . Loved the happy and energetic vibe from the staff from start to finish. We will be dreaming about the seasonal curry beef dish forever and the pad Thai was amazing too. The Guava gelato is phenomenal. The staff was super attentive , food came out fast and they made my bday dinner so cute and fun.

   I'm from Southeast Asia and know Thailand well, including the northern areas where the Isaan cuisine originates from. I can attest that Sappe's food is highly authentic when it comes to replicating Isaan fare. There is a subtlety to the flavors that is absent at other Thai places I've eaten at in NYC in the past quarter of a century. Us SE Asians know that this subtle but complex combination of flavors is not easy to achieve, so kudos to the team at Sappe for surpassing our expectations. If you can't travel to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai, but crave Isaan food, Sappe is the place to go. We recommend the following: the skewers (especially the pork belly, baby squid, and chicken wings), the Khao Soi, and the pork ribs. This is not the kind of place where it's "one sauce/taste fits all". Every dish has been attended to with care (no fewer than hours of marinating, and blending 5-6 spices per dish). That said, I end on this note: the deep fried tofu, eaten plain, is perfectly fried on the outside and silky on the inside (again, only achieved with skill and a commitment to using clean/fresh batches of oil for frying). P.S. lovely ambiance, and quiet (but then we went for a late lunch on a rainy day). Our servers were wonderful - friendly and warm, and very knowledgeable. If you have to brave the crowds on date night etc., just go anyway -- the food is well worth it!

   Sappe has become a staple restaurant I bring everyone that visits me in NYC. Everything is outstanding and unique. The portions are generous and the staff is beyond kind and helpful! The rack of ribs, the pork jowl, and the mama e la are must gets on every order
