Sapori Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
Sapori was pretty busy on Friday evening when we arrived, and we were seated per our reservation time and quickly greeted with water. Visits from our server were kind of few and far between; he seemed to have a couple of larger groups that were wrapping up as we were ordering, so waters sat empty for most of our visit (luckily there was plenty of wine!) and our entrees arrived before we were able to our finish our appetizer. My lobster pasta was incredible and my fiance loved the bolognese.
The food and ambiance are always wonderful and we will definitely be back!
Have been going to this most wonderful restaurant since it opened . Maybe 15 years ago.....
( I live in the San Francisco area , go every time I am in Chicago )
Have never had anything but THE most wonderful meal and EXCELLENT service.
Inside is lovely and the outside patio in summer also.
Thank you to all my friends at Sapori Trattoria..
We were concerned about the noise level but we were seated upstairs and it was fine at 7. Even when we left 8:30ish downstairs was comfortable. Our server was lovely, knowledgeable about the menu and patient with a puckey drink order. The quality of the food was excellent! This was our first visit. We live in the neighborhood and we WILL be back!
Unfortunately we had the worst service I’ve ever experienced at the restaurant. As a two top who immediately sat down and ordered our entrees (no drinks even!), it took nearly 2 hours in and out. My meal came out wrong as did our check, and our seating preference wasn’t honored despite many open tables. Sad service, especially for a birthday meal!
Delicious Food, Amazing Service! I was blown away by the staff here. When I called to confirm my reservation, they asked in advance if we were celebrating anything. I responded "just friendship!" (we were a party of 7 friends). They still treated us like we were celebrating a major event. They sent out an appetizer and a huge spread of desserts all on the house! Our server was attentive but didn't rush us as we spent time catching up, and was patient enough to take a bunch of photos of us. On top of the great service, the food was DELICIOUS. Classic Italian done extremely well. Note - the pasta portions are LARGE, so definitely think about splitting if you're only normal-hungry and you don't want leftovers! The Pasta Carbonara was particularly outstanding.
The place is much bigger than we would have even guessed. Each room is cozy and warmly decorated. Service was quick and very nice. Delicious wine, good mixed drinks. I had the lasagna-it was huge! But amazing! My fiancé had the gnocchi which was terrific. Will absolutely be coming back. Great place to bring your parents for a nice night out.
these people have their act together. They tailored the pace of service to the group which ranged in age from 95 to 2.
The food was traditional italian and was excellent---the pasta--whether in the form of lasagna , spaghetti, etc was much lighter than most places.
The portions and the prices are very good. people who would not ordinary take home a doggie bag did this time--and i doubt the dogs saw any of it.
really a good choice. --
Delicious entrees- seafood risotto and bolognese were so yummy. I was disappointed with the ceaser salad- not totally authentic. Great service and great experience overall. Reasonably priced wine list. Will definitely be going back and would recommend to others!
I was very surprised how much I enjoyed this dinner. Noise level was high but we could still easily converse. Food was very good and the portions were large. Two of us shared a salad before the large dinner portions. Lasagna is made as a single serving and is very good. Plan to take food home.
Sat downstairs, was wedged in between 2 tables and could hardly hear my fiend across the table. Someone puked on the floor behind us and it took a while to get it cleaned. Waitress was overly attentive and continuously broke up conversation. Food was good but would not want to sit downstairs again.
