We were waited on and seated promptly. We went there for our anniversary. The waiter made excellent recommendations. The servers and waiter privided excellent service. The food was very good . My only recommendations would be to get fresh paint on the walls and either wash that curtain the waiters go through or replace it with a door . It was in clear view from our table and I found it a little disgusting.
One of the view restaurants in Chicago that consistently of outstanding,
authentic food for a reasonable price. Good any time of ar but wonderful in summer
(sit by the front window).
The food and ambience were great, and Cassidy provided exceptional service!
Had a corner an quiet table. It was nice ambience..
Great location, a neighborhood gem. Delicious Italian food
The restaurant went above and beyond in the service and attentiveness they provided. Never had a bad experience before and tonight was even more special.
I have no idea how I have missed Sapori Trattoria all these years. The outside gives no clue to the interior, which is beautiful and very friendly old school. The food was outstanding, the service top notch. I am in the neighborhood a lot--and I plan to go back there. Great spot!
Absolutely amazing. We recently went for my boyfriend’s birthday and the first thing we see is that they’ve included “happy birthday” on all the menus. The food was fantastic, the waitress (Megan) was phenomenal and super easy to talk to (and had plenty of suggestions). Overall great experience, would recommend to anyone looking for a nice night out.
We have gone to Sapori Trattoria a few times since we found it and every meal has been great. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive without being annoying, and helpful with suggestions. This is now our go to neighborhood Italian restaurant.
Good dependable food and service ; a great neighborhood Italian eatery
I celebrated my birthday here and it was a great experience. They surprised me with a personalized menu wishing me happy birthday. That was really sweet. The service was great, the food was amazing. Will be back for sure :)
The food was great. The service was very good considering how crowded it was on a Saturday night. Our only complaint was how unbelievably loud it was in the upstairs room full of patrons. It was almost comical how loud it was. It improved as big groups left, but we couldn't hear our server to give our order. Overall, a good experience in a great local restaurant.
Wonderful Italian restaurant. I so love the pumpkin pasta with the butternut squash. One of the best meals I have ever had really. Have to try!!!! Service is great and just a great place to eat. Small so make a reservation. They get crowded. It's worth waiting though
WE ate here before and quite liked it. BUt the prices are now significantly higher and we found the food quality mediocre. The grilled squid appetizer had a strange vinegar and oil dressing and was served cold--not what we expected and not good. I had linguine and clam sauce--the past was not al dente--too cooked, and the clam sauce was fine but nothing special. The one hit dinner of the group of four was the pasta carbonara...even though it was made with cream (NOT at all the Roman way to make this signature Roman dish), it was still excellent. The bolognais pasta was so-so--bland, as my husband concluded. We have a lot of experience with Italian food and were sadly disappointed this time . The waiter was wonderful--one of the best servers EVER...
I always love the Lasagna di Antionio. This is just simply wonderful italian food.
This is very good Italian food at reasonable prices. A bit noisy but usually less so on week nights. Service is prompt and courteous. I like the spaghetti with the sausage and meatballs. Bread course is hot and delicious.
Recommended by locals. Reasonable wine list. Food and service excellent.
It was just a lovely experience!
Pasta was great, service was excellent. 5/5. Good for couples and anniversaries.
Just the best. Great food, service, drinks! Our group shared 3 appetizers, 4 salads (the Cesar and brussel sprout salad are amazing), terrific entrees and 3 deserts. Plus Awesome white and red sangria for the season. Not rushed, great food and family....
Food is always excellent, and it is a very friendly atmosphere.
We have been multiple times, always try something new and we still have not had a bite of food that is below amazing. This last trip we tried the brussell sprout salad (delcious), the Penne (HUGE), and the Bolognese, plus one of the fun summer cocktails! Always great service. We also sit in a new area each time, the place is huge!!
Sapori is always a good choice--Lively--Energetic--Always go home with a 'doggie bag'--Food is well prepared-fresh--good sauces--Its a keeper--been going for years--great neighborhood spot
Great food but restaurant gets very noisy when it’s crowded. Luckily we sat outside. Great server; SHE realized one of us was served the wrong pasta and corrected it. Food is excellent, the shells with sausage and cauliflower is a favorite.
Everything about this place was outstanding!! The Calamari is one of the best I've ever had. My lasagna I ordered was also top notch. Our waitress was knowledgable about the menu, attentive, and did a great job.
There's a reason why this place is rated #1 by TripAdvisor fans. The portions are huge (I mean HUGE), everything is homemade, the pasta is perfectly cooked and service is stellar. All for a reasonable price. You'll end up taking home a doggie bag, you can guarantee it.
We split a wonderful Asparagi salad for starters, just loaded with diced, grilled, crispy fresh asparagus on mixed greens with balsamic dressing. Then our eyes got bigger than our stomachs -- loved the Rigatoni Bolognese -- huge rigatoni's al dente swimming in a rich meat sauce. We also ordered a half portion of Pennette Cardinale -- a wonderful creamy sauce with chicken chunks. We had leftovers of both -- and therefore lunch tomorrow.
Dessert menu looked enticing but no room to spare. Lincoln Park neighborhood is lucky to have this superb Italian restaurant.
Celebrated a birthday. The restaurant asked in advance and surprised us with personalized menu recognizing the event. Nice touch! We have five people who all tried something different and were all happy. Good service, attentive but not annoyingly.
Love the food. Great neighborhood restaurant.
Very quaint, cozy restaurant with live music, great food and service for an intimate or group dinner.
Fabulous neighborhood Italian! I love Italian places that are small and cozy like this place, not big corporate owned joints with no personality. The food was excellent and so was the service. After dinner we were waiting for an Uber and met the chef! The staff seemed very close knit, almost like family. Everyone raved about their dinner!
Presentation of dishes - especially the risotto - was definitely lacking but taste was excellent. Noise in the front dining room was difficult to contend with for a party of six and conversation was adversely impacted.
Service was excellent.
Fantastic, quant, great service, and amazing food.
Always delicious!!! The Insulata Rustica & Lobster Ravioli is my go to order, every time 😉
Sapori is hands down my favorite Italian restaurant in Chicago. The service never fails to be spectacular and the food is always cooked to perfection. It is always at the top of my list for restaurant recommendations & I'm already ready to go back.
Always an incredible meal
Food is best among Italian restaurants, Highly recommend the Veal, the home made pastas and the desserts. Service is attentive and responsive to the diners. A great restaurant to enjoy a friendly meal at reasonable prices.
Went on Mother’s Day and the food was amazing...no limited menu and the service was as good as the food...Mother’s we’re given complimentary roses...Chef Anthony even stopped by the table and said hello to everyone...best Seafood Risotto I’ve ever had.
The pesto gnocchi (and everything else) was incredible as always.
