Sapóre Ristorante + Bar Ratings and Reviews
Another great meal at Sapore - started with clam chowder and beet salad, both excellent. Then the Sunday Pasta dinner, small portion (was perfect size) with wonderful meatball and the sea scallops with pork belly and mushrooms, great combo! And chocolate cake to top it off. Great service!
Very good location for a bit before a show @ the Pavilion, but location & the beer list were the best parts. We had the balsamic fries (not my thing, but my husband really enjoyed them), the chicken saltimbocca and the halibut. We ended up switching entrees midway through b/c the halibut was completely overdone but we didn't have time for a "fix" -thankfully my husband would eat pretty much anything, so even though he made some noises about it, he finished it and I got some of his very tender chicken. The sides on the entree were reversed though, the side on the halibut was fantastic-but the prosciutto & potatoes on the saltimbocca had absolutely no flavor (how can prosciutto have no flavor?!). It looked like steamed deli ham -very odd. Anyway, all in all, fine, but not good dining experience. I really enjoyed that they have great beers (and some really good looking wines!)
Our waitress was a delight. We shared a Caesar salad which was just okay - lacked flavor. Our entrees were outstanding! I had the seared scallops and my husband had the haddock - both were perfectly portioned, fresh and delicious! The carrot cake was the perfect ending to a perfect night. Highly recommend!
We were somewhat disappointed by the food. I was excited to see Pappardelle w/ Wild Boar Ragout on the menu, and although the flavor was excellent, the pasta was slightly undercooked and the boar was a bit tough and stringy. My companion had a lobster roll and the roll was dry and tasteless. The lobster salad was good though, as were the hand cut French fries. I did enjoy the Heirloom Tomato Salad and we loved our drinks ordered from the specialty menu - a fancified bourbon old-fashioned and a pineapple rum concoction.
For some reason, the door to the patio was left open which resulted in the restaurant being quite humid. It totally defeated the air conditioning and made it stuffy and uncomfortable.
Came before a concert and mentioned we were time pressed. Restaurant was fairly busy, although there were quite a few empty tables. Not sure if understaffed, but service was very slow.
Food was excellent, although they delivered a completely incorrect meal and we did not have time to wait for a redo.
Francisco is the best server ever! Everything was terrific. I dined there on three occasions during my travels this summer while staying at the hotel Renaissance Waterfront. Don't miss it!
This is the best place to be pre and post cruise. Also very close to Boston Logan airport.
our appetizers came out and we where half way through enjoying them. When our entrees where delivered to the table. We asked that they take them back to the kitchen until we finished our appetizers. He did that and then went and told our server what had happened. She came over asked how our appetizers tasted. we told they are good but our entrees had been delivered a few minutes ago and we sent them back. She acted like she had no idea. When they brought our entrees back they where all dried up and not very good. Also from the minute we sat down there was fruit flies everywhere. we told the server and she said she would let the management know and acted like it was not a big deal. Also had a fly land on my food.
NOT going back
This is a creative and delicious restaurant with an acclaimed chef. Located in the Renaissance Hotel, it probably doesn't get the recognition it deserves. I make a point to eat here regularly even though I don't patronize the hotel. Best pasta, even better than the north end.
We had a wonderful evening much of the credit went to Ashley our server. She was attentive and efficient without smothering us. My husbands food allergies were handled beautifully. My only complaint was that the halibut was overlooked and dry so if you are going to order halibut stress you don't want it over done
We were with 2 other couples and everyone enjoyed their meals.
Parking can be Validated for $14 in their garage, but parking on the street can be found at meters if you are lucky.
Extremely reasonable prices for this area. Nice, clean, stylish decor. The bathroom faucets are remarkable; seriously. Server very attentive. Food was really good. We enjoyed it very much. Big coffee cups and really fresh, hot coffee after our meal. Highly recommend.
My wife and I recently ate dinner here prior to a concert around the corner. The food was delicious; we loved our entrees and especially the Fritto Misto appetizer. The staff was great and friendly. The atmosphere was also very nice. I'd definitely go back when in the area.
Had a great experience at sapore, which we went to for pre concert dinner. Place was surprisingly empty which made us question our choice but we had a great server that gave us plenty of attention (no one else around!) and great advice on options available. Short rib dinner for one was scrumptious! We'll be back again for more pre concert dinners :)
Our service walked by, looked directly at us....twice, after our dinner was delivered. Speaking of which, we got our appetizer, and about 2 minutes later, we got our dinners. Had to flag people down for water refills and thought we'd have to send up a glare to get our check!!
It was a nice restaurant. The Calamari was tasty and the mushroom pasta was so rich. The meatballs were not my favorite. I wasn't crazy with hoe the oysters came out pre flavored instead of getting the option to dress it to my preference. It was nice, but quite. The only negative is probably that the place felt empty compared to the other restaurants in the area. I am guessing it is because it is not on the water and in a hotel versus stand alone. If they get busy or a regular crowd it could be a success.
